Chapter 4

The Alpha's Curve

Zithanial p.o.v {Arriving home}

The days had been long and the nights short. The training was hard and frustrating but I finally became a worthy Alpha in the end. From the first day there was tension between everyone, who will be the best, the most powerful. Fights between power had broken out before we had even started. That was all sorted out quickly, the trainers made sure of that. It was hard enough running thought mud for hours on end, fighting until we threw up, listening to hours of Alpha knowledge whilst doing push ups the whole time. But if you were to piss off one of the trainers, well then it would be the death of you. Well not really, one would have to do everything with an extra 100kg weighting them down.

I shake myself out of my past memories as I pass the green trees of my pack land, a place I have come to miss dearly.

RING RING!

Hearing the unfimiliar ringing of my new phone I look and see that Saxon the one disturbing the peacefulness of the car.

Now I really should answer him, but I am nearly there. Screw it, he can wait. Soon the terrible ringing stopped and Saxon left a message.

"Hey dude, you nearly here yet. Everyone is here to welcome you back, wait! That was expose to be a surprise, oh well. Everyone can't wait to see the new you, and that includes me, cause you know, there is no way you could still have all that fat on you. Alpha training wouldn't let you. Ha ah ha. Oh and all the girls are here and waiting to see if yo are their mate. And trust me! There are some fu*king hot girl in our pack that--"

The message got cut off before Saxon had time to finish. I flinched at Saxon's mention of the word fat, through my Alpha journey I have come to appreciate the inside of a person, rather than the outside looks. I also dislike how if someone wasn't perfectly fit then they were fat in his eyes, we will be having a talk about that. Obviously Saxon was already drunk from the sound of the message, I do hope that he doesn't plan to keep that up. I have plans for when I become Alpha, even though my father is an amazing Alpha, I don't think there is a bit too much slacking off.

Wait what did he say! Mate

Mate. That one word that can being a guy to his knees. A mate, someone you can love and cherious forever. Your other half, the one that completes you. That one person that I haven't found yet. Although Alpha training we learnt so much, half of that which was about Mates. There were several Alpha-to-be's that had the good fortune to already have a Mate. But for the rest of us, just learning about Mates excited and bring up a need to find our Mate. That is what I want, no need, to do. I need to find her, I need to find my soul mate.

I was just going to go to every pack members house that had a single female, and see if she was there. But since Saxon has already gathered everyone, I guess this will do.

Finally I arrive to my childhood home, everything looked the same. From the amazing front garden, to the giant house that looked like it was out of the Victorian time. The only thing that was different was all the garages that disappeared off to the right. That and the mass amount of cars that were here.

I shut off the engine and climbed out of the car. Any second now they will come around the corner. the party was obviously in the backyard judging from the music and chattering coming from there.

Right on que Saxon, my Mother, Dad and a huge crowd rounded the corner.

That huge crowd came to a sudden stop at the sight of me, mouths wide open shocked at the sight of me. Mum was the first to snap out of it, the wonderful women Freda Stone always the saviour. "My boy, oh my little boy, my little Zithanial look at you all grown up." Mum rushed to me with tears in her eyes, I felt the bone crushed hug of my mum that I have truly missed. I wrapped my arms around her feeling the most comforted I have had in 5 years.

Mum slowly let go of me, "Oh my you have grown up, I can't believe you are finally home."

Dad also known as Alpha Stone, came up behind Mum. "It is good to have you back Zithanial, you have been missed." He said as he gave me a hug, it may not sound manly but since Dad hasn't seen me in 5 years, I think it is just fine and very welcomed.

After Mum and Dad had said their welcomes I was tackled by crazy people that I used to call friends, I still do, but I have grown up and I hope they have too.

"Welcome back brother!" Saxon yell in my ear.

All the guys came up to welcome me back as everyone slowly moved around to the back yard.

Adrian Spark was the last one to greet me, "Hey man, it is good to see you back. It- ugh- hasn't been the same without you."

Even though Adrian was smiling while he was talking to me, I could tell something was wrong with him. There wasn't as much life in him as there used to be. And I will find out why.

The backyard hasn't changed a bit, a wide expansion of green grass with all types of toys scattered around it. Everybody was going back to socializing, they know that I will get to meet them soon enough.

I talk to familiar faces and introduce myself to the ones that have been added in the 5 years of my absence. Everyone has smiles on their face, some real, some fake. That doesn't bother me, I am more worried about the type of person they are.

I know in my younger years I was not fit as other kids, and through my teens I was large than the rest of boys. Whist it was an inconvenience and if I wasn't the Alpha-to-be, I think I would have been the subject of mockery too. But this also allowed me to study my pack and the people in it. To see them for what they really are. And I can easily say the boys I hung out with and my Second in command are not the ideal personalities I want to influence me and the pack. I can only hope years out of high school, that they have matured little.

"Zithanial, baby." Brought me back to reality.

I look over my shoulder to see a makeup caked faced blonde coming towards me. I scratch my brain trying to remember who this is.

"Zithy, long time no see." The unknown blonde says as she rubs her hand up and down my arm. Whoever the blonde is, looks momentarily confused and disappointed.

Female have been doing this to me all day, rubbing up against me one way or another, some discrete, some not so much. All just to see if sparks set off between us, just to see if we were mates. None had any luck so far, but that didn't stop some girls.

"Well that's a shame Zithy, but since I am the last pack girl here, it is obvious that your mate isn't within this pack. But of course I am more than happy to keep you occupied until you find her." The blonde says batting her eyelashes at me. Hideous looking on her, makes her look like there is something in her eye.

"Whoever you are, take your hands off me. I will not touch you, nor will I sleep with you so get that thought out of your mind. I am faithful to my mate, whether I know who she is or not." I say bluntly in a mono tone to her.

I will not stand for my pack member being unfaithful to there mates. This is one thing Alpha training has given me to treasure. The loving fullness of having a mate.

The blonde looks like someone just smacked her in the face. Not needing the drama that may follow, I head towards where Saxon and other wolves my age are.

"Dude, you just turned down the hottest chick in the pack! Plus, she is amazing in the bed." Saxon said with a wink.

"I honestly don't care what she looks like or how great in bed she is. All I know is that if she were in a fight, she would lose."

"Yeah,  but that's why she has us. The big protectors of the pack, top dogs." With that Saxon started howling causing all the other guys around us to join in.

"I doubt any of you are ready to be a protector yet." I whisper to myself. Luckily, with all the guys howling no one picks up on my comment.

"Come on dude, loosen up, you just got back from 5 years of straight Alpha training. Enjoy yourself. If your down, you bring the place down. One bad person can effect all the others. Ain't that right Adrian?" Saxon says as he reaches over to Adrian to pull him into the conversation.

"What -what are you talking about?" Adrian stuttered.

"That Zithanial here," clapping me on the back, "should loosen up and join the party."

"Yeah, you should. You have been away for 5 years, lots of things have changed." Adrian agreed.

"I know but--" I was cut off by my Father whistling.

"Alright eveyone, now what you all have had a chance to meet Zithanial, I would like of give a speech." Father voice carries through the large crowd. He doesn't have to yell as his Alpha power allows him to speck load but doesn't need for him to shout to reach everyone.

Father motions for me to come up onto the makeshift stage like platform his and Mum was standing on. Saxon slappes my on the back and gives me a smile, while Adrian just nodds towards the stage.

I slowly walk towards it, taking my time with my head held high and strides long.
