Chapter 41
King Alejandro: The Return Of Her Cold-Hearted Alpha
41 My Actions ENRIQUE âDo it.â Dante repeated. âWhat are you waiting for? Kill me. Thatâs why you are here, arenât you? I even left the window open for you.â He wasnât afraid or even alarmed, he was simply watching me calculatingly. How did he know that? âYou knew I was going to come?â I asked sharply.
How? âThis isnât what I saw thoughâ¦â He murmured, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes. He closed his eyes and I frowned. Wasnât he going to shout for help? âKill me and get it over with. My parents are out as it is.
Now is your best chance.â He added arrogantly.
My anger flared through me as he turned onto his side, his back to me. I raised the piece of glass, but once again the image of the Chicaâs face filled my mind. If I kill him⦠sheâll⦠Her tear-filled eyes flashed in my head, and I stared at the glass What the Queen Luna and the Lycan King themselves said⦠the fact that they didnât need to keep me here in their home. They didnât need to treat me nicely, but they did. If the Lycan wanted he could have beaten me as padre beat the Chica.
I looked at the prince, no⦠the boy before me. I then looked at my right arm, staring at the place where my hand should have been.
This wasnât love, this extreme punishment was wrong⦠I watched how they treated their children here.
How the Lycan treated his Queen⦠The Lycan⦠Maybe he was telling the truth⦠Perhaps he didnât know what the debt was, or why padre was angry. Even I didnât know the reason. Padre just wanted revenge⦠Maybe padre was wrong. âIâm getting bored, are you going to kill me or not?â The annoying boy said, sitting up.
The veins on his body looked painful and his skin looked pale despite how confident and defiant his eyes were.
I felt a surge of hatred for him. He and the Chica, they had a life of luxury. He would grow up and become the Alpha he was born to be⦠and meâ¦
I stared at my b****y hand that still clutched the shard of glass and then at my other arm.
I would be uselessâ¦
âBy now you should know your father is responsible for causing you pain. No one but him.â The boy on the bed stated.
âArenât you scared that I could kill you. You are currently very weak.â
He smirked.
âI wonât die. You made that clear the moment you hesitated⦠Why did you hesitate?â He watched me curiously.
He knew I was going to come here. What powers did he hold? There was something about the boy on the bed. His aura in itself was immense, like an Alphaâs⦠but how was it possible he hadnât even shifted.
âYou seem to be all-knowing.â I retorted coldly.
He raised an eyebrow.
âNot all-knowingâ¦â He looked out of the open balcony, staring at the sky. âWas it because of Kataleya?â
I frowned.
âNo!â
Ild How dare he think I hesitated over a girl. I felt my irritation growing, feeling embarrassed.
âI hear you lost your hand for giving her food.â
âWhat are you, my interrogator?â I glared at him. âI thought we are having a conversation, future Alpha to future Alpha.â He remarked, leaning back against his cushions and crossing his arms. I didnât understand him⦠I didnât understand his calmness or his words. Why was he so calm?
âAlpha. Iâm not worthy of being Alpha anymore.â I spat, holding up my right arm.
He smirked.
âYouâre right, but itâs not your missing hand that is at fault, itâs your attitude. You better fix how you think and become a better person, or I will never allow it to happen.â
âAllow what?â
âFate.â He muttered, closing his eyes. âNow go, Iâm tired, thanks to your dad.â 11 âWhat do you mean, fate?â Why wasnât he answering me properly? He opened his eyes, and for a moment it felt like I was looking at someone who was a lot older than me.
âThe future isnât set in stone⦠tonight you shifted itâ¦â
This boy was annoying, but his words remained in my head.
Become better, the future isnât set in stone⦠For some reason, I felt like I had a sliver of hope⦠I turned away, ready to leave the room when he called me.
âOh, and one more thing.â
âWhat?â I glared at him.
âWhen she came home, she was worried about you. She kept that ripped piece of fabric by her side and begged everyone to find and protect you from your father. Donât be so mean to her.â I felt my cheeks burn with embarrassment. What a silly Chica. That is so awkward! What would everyone be thinking!
âI donât want to talk to her.â I scoffed. âShe needs to stay away from me.â
He simply chuckled, much to my annoyance. I stormed to the door when he turned sharply.
âWhere are you going?â âYes you are right, itâs clear you are not all-knowing.â I replied mockingly and left the room, slamming the door behind me.
I wanted to see what they would do to me. In a flash, there were two guards before me. âThe boyâs escaped!â One of them shouted, and just like that the Lycanâs nephew, Rayhan came out of his room, his eyes flashing green. One glance at the b****y glass in my hand and he rushed into the room behind me.
f One of the guards, disarmed me in a flash, pinning me to the wall. âWhat did you do!â He growled as the other one followed Rayhan into the princeâs room. âWhatâs going on?â The Lycanâs cold voice came, and I turned to see him and the Queen Luna coming up the stairs. My heart began racing no matter how calm I tried to act.
Now weâll see what they do. Their true colours.
His eyes flashed when he saw the glass in my hand, and was that fear in his eyes? The Queen Luna paled as she hurried past us to check up on their precious son. âDante are you ok?â The queen whispered, worry clear in her voice. âYes, perfectly fine. May I sleep now?â His haughty reply came. I frowned as the king muttered something in relief from the doorway. âYouâve done it kid.â The guard muttered, his face pale. âScared you didnât do your job properly?â I scoffed fearlessly.
Whatâs the most they will do? Hurt me? I donât care, padre had done much worse. I was used to it.
âWatch it.â He growled. âGo question him. Iâm tired, I want to rest.â âYou really are a little prince.â The queenâs relieved voice came.
The Lycan king now stepped in front of me, his face was unreadable, his eyes sharp as he stared at my b****y hand. âHow the f**k did you get in there?â I raised an eyebrow. âIâve done far more complicated things with broken bones. What is one balcony away?â I replied rudely.
Go on, show me your true coloursâ¦
The queen and Rayhan stepped out of the room and shut the door behind them.
âLetâs take this somewhere else.â The Queen suggested softly. âIâll head back.â Rayhan replied with a nod before casting me a final glance and returning to his room. To my surprise, the Queen put her hand on my shoulder, and I felt the pain in my hand vanishing. I pulled away from her confused.
Why heal me?
âHow about we go downstairs to the kitchen.â She said, motioning the guards away. The king smirked slightly. âStill the queen you were born to be.â He remarked as he led the way down the stairs. Five minutes had passed, and the Queen Luna had put a glass of milk and some warm chocolate cake with ice cream in front of me as I sat there on the bar stool.
How strange. I tried to kill her son and she was giving me a treat? I wanted to think it was poisoned, but I knew her enough to know it wasnât. She was a strange one.
âWhereâs mine?â The king asked.
âYou had ice cream alreadyâ¦â
âWell since I canât have my favourite dessert, I need to settle for what I can get and I still crave for more dessert.â He replied, his cold eyes fixed on her.
She smiled and turning away, began to fix him a plate. I didnât touch mine, staying silent. What was going on?
âWhat were you trying to achieve?â He asked me suddenly. âPadre wanted him, so I wanted to kill him, for padre.â I replied monotonously. Even to me, my reason sounded empty. Why did I want to do it for padre? The queen turned, her eyes full of sadness and worry. Yes, now you know that Iâm not someone you should be worrying or caring about. âBut you didnât do it.â She said softly, coming over and placing the second plate in front of the king who was leaning against the worktop.
He ran his hand through her hair, before picking up his spoon. âEat.â He commanded, his powerful aura rolled off him and I was forced to pick up my spoon.
I donât like being told what to do.
âI might have done it. I had every intention to do it, so will you kill me now?â I asked eating some of the cake.
It was really tastyâ¦
âWhy would we kill you?â The Queen Luna asked.
She was very beautiful. Her large eyes seemed to contain so many emotions. No wonder the Lycan said she had helped him see the light. If madre had treated padre like this⦠or more like if padre let madre be by his side, would he have been different? I pushed the thoughts away angrily âFor trying to kill your son?â I raised my eyebrow as if this was obvious.
âThat was a s**t move, kid.â The Lycan added. âSo, kill me.â
âYou didnât kill him, you yourself hesitated. You did the right thing, and Iâm proud of you.â The Queen Luna smiled. âWhy did you want to hurt him?â
âTo do something for padre⦠becauseâ¦â
âBecause he doesnât f*****g need you anymore?â The kingâs cold voice came. I looked up at him, trying to hide the pain inside of me.
It hurt.
I clenched my jaw and nodded, trying to act like I didnât care. Youâre the one who doesnât need that f*****g b*****d. Listen to me kid, when I find him I am going to rip him to f*****g shreds. Heâs f*****g abused you all your d**n life and you think this s**t is, ok? It f*****g aint-â âAlejandroâ¦â The queen placed her hand on his shoulder.
I felt the anger, the sadness, and the pain in my chest.
It was true, padre wasnât fair⦠it wasnât fair at all. He growled, slamming his fist on the table and denting the worktop, making me look up into his glowing red eyes.
âListen to me pup, you donât need to go back there. When I find him, I will be f*****g ripping his throat out, but itâs up to you if you want to return to your pack or not.
He wasnât lying⦠he was going to kill padre⦠or padre would kill him⦠one or the other had to dieâ¦
because it was clear neither would stop until the other was dead. But which oneâs death would ultimately be better?
Padre who always seemed to hurt people? Or the Lycan who padre said was a monster. Why did padre seem like the monster now? Was I being blinded or was I seeing things properly now? âI will be going back, if you let me, even if padre is killed, the pack needs me.â
Did they need me? I was useless.
I stared at my stump, feeling bitter. âThen, I think itâs high f*****g time we find his a*s.â The king replied coldly. I know where padre may be⦠but should I tell them?
I looked up, catching the queenâs concern as she watched me. A small smile crossed her face, and for a moment she reminded me of the Chica.
At that moment, I made my decision. I think it was time I told them, so I could get away from her and this family. I didnât like how they made me feelâ¦
âI know a few names of locations where padre has houses in the United Kingdom.â I stated, placing my spoon down. âBut in return for the information, I want something.â 3 Trending Novels
