“I have other matters to attend to. As you wish.” Joshua said, standing up. His face was carefully

composed, but inside, he was his usual self.

Chyler’s fists clenched, his eyes burning with anger. He steeled himself, his voice filled with gritted

determination, “Big

brother.”

Joshua nearly cringed at the sound. Disgusting indeed.

Seeing Chyler’s reluctance, he replied, “If you’re going to sound like that, you might as well not.”

“Big brother!” Chyler repeated, his words brimming with contempt.

Joshua finally found some sense of accomplishment. He wondered if Cynthia would praise him if she

found out. “Three times.

“Big brother,” Chyler repeated, each word filled with more loathing than the last

“The first one was so reluctant, can it even count?

“Big brother!” Chyler’s anger grew.

“Can you tell me now?” Chyler held back his revulsion and resentment as he asked Joshua.

“Compensating her doesn’t necessarily have to be in the form of cash.” Joshua found Chyler incredibly

dim–witted.

“What do you mean? Explain yourself,” Chyler pressed.

“She’s an actress, isn’t she?” Joshua remembered Cynthia’s introduction clearly. “You could subtly offer

her acting or advertising opportunities.”

“With her current status and influence, even if I offer her opportunities, she won’t get much out of

them.” Chyler had, of course, considered this.

“Can’t you promote her?”

“If I promote her, she’ll definitely know.”

Chyler had thought of offering Ellora money first, then secretly promoting her. However, she seemed to

have guessed his intentions, clearly telling him not to meddle in her career and not to give her a reason

to truly despise him. This had left him

at a loss.

“Considering Ellora’s talent, she must have no shortage of admirers. Why don’t you find a suitable

person to promote her for you? Of course, it would be best if this person was someone you’ve had

disagreements with in the past.” Joshua was mich sharper now than before.

And thus, nothing would be revealed.

Chyler was quick to refuse, “No, that’s not an option. If it happens this way, Ellora will surely feel

grateful to that person. What if she gets deceived?”

about her being cheated or are you afraid she’ll mistakenly attribute your intentions to someone else?”

Joshua maintained his poker face.

His words hit home. As much as Chyler hated to admit it, he was afraid of Ellara believing someone

else was looking out for her. He wanted Ellora to realize he cared for her, to dissolve their past

disputes, However, following Joshua’s suggestion would mean.. doing a favor for the wrong persan.

“If you can’t go through with it, it indicates you don’t love her as much as you claim. Loving someone is

about giving selflessly, without seeking anything in return.” Joshua, now standing on Cynthia’s side,

also stood up for Ellora.

Chyler was torn inside. On the one hand, he wanted Ellora to acknowledge his goodwill. On the other

hand, he desired her happiness.

“Even so, the person who boosts her career might not necessarily make her a top–tier star.

Furthermore, her dream is to be an artist,” Chyler carefully spoke his thoughts. He had only recently

learned about Ellora’s dream. If he could turn back time, he would have cherished her from the very

start.
