Chapter 488 Accept the Apology
âMy mother hasnât been feeling well recently. Itâs just a small banquet, so I donât want to
disturb her.â
Leia smiled adorably. âMr. Felton, you are very considerate. You will definitely lead the
Felton family into prosperity.â
âThank you.â
Ronian smiled faintly.
The servant who went upstairs to look for Jerry quickly ran back. âMr. Felton, Mr. Jerry is
not in his room. I donât know where he went. I canât find him.â
Ronianâs face darkened, and he cursed in a low voice, âHow come! Where could he go?
Hurry up and find him!â
âYes.â
The servant turned and left.
Todd and Leia looked at each other.
Leia seemed to have realized something and quickly changed the topic. âMr. Felton,
were you the one who arranged tonightâs banquet? The decorations are so exquisite.
Can 1 ask you for advice?
I might hold a banquet later as well.â
Todd followed and said, âWhatâs wrong, Mr. Felton? Itâs such a good night. Why do you
seem unhappy?â
Ronian put away his sad expression and continued to smile politely.
Just as he was about to answer Leiaâs question, Ronian saw Dewey rushing over.
âMr. Felton!â
But Dewey was stopped by viola halfway. âDewey, whereâs Jennifer? Why havenât I seen
her yet? She likes banquets the most.â
In front of viola, Dewey could only suppress his anxiety. âJennifer must be dressing up in
her room. Mr. Felton bought her a pair of crystal earrings a few days ago. Sheâs probably
trying them on.â
âIs that so?â Viola said with a gentle smile.
âYes, Mrs. Hobson. I have something urgent to tell Mr. Felton. Excuse me.â
Dewey moved two steps to the side, and Viola quickly followed, blocking his way so that
Roman could not see Dewey.
âDewey, the Feltonâs house is very huge. I canât find Jenniferâs room. Can you take me
there?â
âIâ¦â
Viola continued to persuade, âThe other servants in the Feltonâs house are all new here.
I donât know a single one of them. Dewey, you are the kindest and nicest people I know
here. Meanwhile, Mr. Felton is busy greeting guests. If there is anything else, you can
talk about that after the banquet.â
Dewey was conflicted for a while before he turned his head to look at Ronian from afar.
Seeing that Ronian was speaking to Leia and Todd, Dewey could only give up.
âAlright, Mrs. Hobson. Please follow me.â
âThank you.â
A minute later, Jerry slowly walked out of his room. He first stood by the entrance and
looked at the crowd in the garden. Finally, his gaze landed on Ormand.
Ormand seemed to have noticed something and looked back at Jerry.
Ronian started to feel impatient as Todd and Leia talked nonstop in front of him.
When he noticed Jerry, Ronian immediately dismissed Todd and Leia. Then Ronian
walked over calmly and asked, âWhat took you so long? Where did you go just now?â
Jerry lowered his head and replied in a submissive manner, âI donât know whatâs going
on. I had a stomach ache, so it took me a while in the toilet.â
Hearing that, although Roman was very dissatisfied, he knew it was inappropriate to
blame Jerry in front of so many people.
As he calmed himself down, Ronian continued, âHow are the preparations going?
Tonight, you must only succeed. Failure is forbidden, understand?â
âYes, Ronian. Donât worry. I will make it work.â
Ronian seemed satisfied and snorted.
As soon as the banquet started, however, Ronian immediately put on his kind smile and
walked to the stage.
Viola, at the same time, got downstairs with Jennifer, who was finally dressed up.
Guests from rich families sat around the tables, and the garden was crowded.
Ronian gave a five-minute opening speech to warm up the banquet.
Meanwhile, Jerry stood quietly at the side and looked like an obedient servant.
Tonight was an official occasion. So Jerry had shaved off his beard and looked much
younger.
Although his rough skin made Jerry look pitiful and horrible, he was still quite handsome
under the dim light. It was not obvious, and yet everyone could sense that Jerry had
gone through lots of hardship.
At the end of his speech, Ronian requested Jerry to toast to the guests.
Ormand was the most powerful man present, so he was the first person to be toasted.
Jerry slowly walked to the table where Ormand sat. And Ronian followed behind Jerry
silently, as if Ronian was worried that Jerry would ruin everything.
âMr. Hobson, there are too many misunderstandings between US. And itâs all because I
am so ignorant. Tonight, I apologize to you. I hope that you can accept my apology and
drink with me.â
Jerry smiled. He took the expensive red wine from a servant, who was standing behind
and holding a tray. Then Jerry poured a glass of wine for Ormand.
Some white powder was thrown into the wine as Jerry filled the glass. Almost no one
noticed, and all of the powder successfully went into the red and fragrant wine.
Ronian, who was right behind Jerry, saw everything but remained calm.
âCome on. Mr. Hobson, please drink this glass of wine, and let the past be the past.â
Ormandâs face was cold and indifferent. He didnât say anything, completely ignoring
Jerry.
âViola, since Mr. Hobson refused to accept my apology, and I heard that Mr. Hobson
always listened to you, could you please talk over Mr. Hobson, considering our friendship
over the years?â Jerry handed the wine glass to Viola instead.
Viola played the role of the peacemaker.
âOrmand, come on. Itâs just a glass of wine. It doesnât mean anything. Everyone here is
waiting for you to take that shot. If you donât drink it, we will be stuck here forever.
âDrink it. Otherwise, you can drink half of it, and I will finish the rest.â
For the sake of viola, Ormand reluctantly agreed.
Jerry bowed respectfully and raised the glass of wine with both hands.
Ormand reached out to take it, but Viola interrupted and took the glass instead, she
drank half of the wine as they agreed.
While Viola was drinking, Jerry narrowed his eyes. Under the dim lights in the garden, no
one could see Jerryâs expression clearly, but everyone could feel that Jerry was rather
calm.
Ronian, however, frowned and sensed something wrong.
After Jerry finished greeting the guests at every table, Ronian pulled Jerry to a remote
and quiet corner and asked softly, âWhat did you do?â
Jerry did not understand, âwhat do you mean?â
Ronian sneered. âI know you well. You have pursued Viola for a long time. How could
you watch her drink that glass of wine and remain indifferent?â
The white powder was an illegal drug from abroad, and it killed people in seconds.
Ronian wondered how Jerry could watch his beloved woman drink the deadly wine
without any intention of stopping her.
It caused Ronian to doubt Jerry instantly.
The guests in the garden, on the other hand, kept laughing and drinking. A few
bodyguards were guarding while Ronian had a secret chat with Jerry.
âYou know what I am capable of. If you dare to fool me around, I can kill you this instant.
Donât ever think that youâre safe as long as you are in the Feltonâs house.â Ronian was
so angry that he immediately grabbed Jerryâs neck and tried to choke Jerry to death.
Jerry endured the suffocating pain and replied without changing his expression.
âI didnât do anything. I just want both of them to die.â
