Should've Shifted: Her Beta Chapter 2
Her Beta
Chapter 2:
Sparks, electric and perfect ran across my skin as he touched my stomach, pulling my tight dress down my body. I couldn't help the gasp that escaped my lips as I felt his hands explore my body, tracing very dip and curve gently as if I was made of porcelain. He was careful and precise in his movements while I was demanding and rushed as I took his shirt and pants off of him. I couldn't get enough of him, he was absolutely perfect and I needed him to be closer.
"Nathaniel whatever your middle name is Lacrus, stop being so slow and careful. I need you right now, I need you to show me that what I'm feeling is what you're feeling as well. Please, reassure me that you're not too scared because I refuse to continue with someone too cowardly to show me the extent of what they feel for me." I spoke knowing that that would cause the reaction I wanted.
"First off, my middle name is Aluxander. And second off, I'm just trying to show you just how much I appreciate what you possess. But you are far too impatient, so I guess I'll just have to speed up the process to make you happy." He replied with a mischievous look. He began to slowly tease me with his mouth, removing my remaining clothes when they prohibited him from kissing skin. "Is this better for you, my little Katherine?" He asked before making me gasp when he kissed the sensitive part of my neck.
I woke with a start. I could feel the extra heat radiating off of my body after my vivid dream. As my heart rate began to decrease from its jackhammer speed, I recalled what I'd seen and felt in my mind. I knew that what I had seen had happened, I knew because my mom was the one dreaming it and I was the one whose mind link had slipped open to see what my mom was seeing and feeling. My mom had explained that she didn't remember much from the night of my conception, but what she did remember wasn't something a mother shares with her daughter. Now I knew why.
I could still feel what my mom felt. I could feel the heat and the passion. I could feel the desire. I could feel the racing of synchronized hearts. As her daughter, I had to say that was quite disturbing. But what I felt the most was what upset me. I could feel the sparks that were evident every time skin came in contact with skin. And that could only mean one thing, my biological father was my mother's mate and she knew all this time, yet she still ran from him and refused to return. And worst of all, she lied to me. I had asked my mother if she had found her mate every time I imagined what mine would be like, but she always told me she hadn't found him yet.
The only good thing I got from that memory playing in my mother's head was that I now knew where my hair color, smile, and eye color came from. I now knew that I looked remarkably like my father. And I knew his name, Nathaniel Aluxander Lacrus. I took a deep breath, closed my mind link with my mother, and cuddled back into my covers as I drifted to sleep again.
I spent most of my day, after waking up for a second time, watching movies and texting Elliot about his mate. I made sure that Elliot was happy with his mate, that he was comfortable with his mate, and that he was safe with his mate. Elliot assured me that he was elated with Adam, that he was completely comfortable with him, that Adam would protect him, and he'd use protection just to make me feel better. I promptly ignored him after that. It was about six o'clock right now and I continued to watch a movie and listen to my mom moving around in her room. My mom was preparing for her date and I was pissed about it.
"Does this look alright?" My mom asked as she walked into the living room. She was wearing a beautiful deep blue dress that looked amazing on her, a pair of earrings that I had bought her for Christmas a few years back, and simple heeled boots. She had her warm faux fur coat draped over her arm. She was waiting for my opinion, and all I could think was that she had lied.
"I'm sure my father would love to see you wearing that. You know, the one who helped conceive me, the one you felt incomparable sparks with, the one who just so happens to be your mate. He'd love you in that, and he'd kill any guy who had the audacity to look at you a certain way as you wore that." I responded as I stood up from the couch. I was beyond angry and I couldn't keep it in any longer. My mom looked completely caught off guard. "Make sure your mind link isn't open as you sleep next time because then I might just learn his name." I said making it seem as if I didn't know his name.
My mother was speechless. She stood there looking at me with wide eyes and a partially open mouth. The doorbell rang causing her to snap out of her surprise. I didn't wait for my mom to open the door, I began to storm up the stairs to my room. "Don't expect me to be awake when you get back." I yelled over my shoulder as I heard my mother open the door. I was pissed and my wolf's natural instincts just made my anger worse.
Twenty minutes after I was sure my mom had left, I packed a small bag and left the house. I guess my mom's worries weren't for nothing, I was mad at her and I was going to look for my biological father because I needed to know him. I needed to know how he would feel about having a daughter he never knew about, or how his life was going without my mother, his mate. I hoped that he would want me.
"I'm lost." I said to no one in particular. I was freezing out here in the snowy weather, I was really rethinking my love for winter. I would shift, but that meant taking off my layers and boots. It was too cold for me to even walk ten steps without shivering, I was not going to strip just to shift even if it would make me warmer to be in my wolf form.
Snap! Uh-oh, that didn't sound good. As a werewolf I have amazing senses, but as loud as that snap sounded, I would never get far enough away from whoever had made that noise. I couldn't smell anything because the wind is moving away from me and toward whatever made that sound. I was screwed if I didn't figure out what to do. I had to hope that I had been going in the right direction and that I was heading toward the pack my father resides in.
All of a sudden the wind shifted, causing whatever made that sound's scent to be pushed in my direction. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't bambi, it was a group of about four or five werewolves. I didn't take a second longer to turn around and run as fast as I could in the deep snow. I got as far as a giant tree when my vision began to blur. I knew that it was an effect of being in the snowy cold outside for too long without the correct amount of layers to keep me fully warm.
My world began to swim. I put my hand to my head and squeezed my eyes closed hoping that that would help with the problem. But it only made what I was feeling worse. Then I smelled an amazing scent of pine and woods. I immediately spun around to try to locate the owner of that scent. I blurrily watched the tree line as I saw the five giant sized wolves coming out of the dark trees. It was when I looked at the powerful black and gray wolf that I knew he was the source of the smell.
They continued to cautiously approach me, snarls releasing from their lips every few minutes. I watched as they came within distance to truly smell me. I watched as the gray and black wolf paused and raised his head as if surprised. I watched as he began to move carefully toward me despite the other wolves' protests. It was once he was within arm's length of me that the dizziness increased and I began to fall.
It was at the last second that I felt powerful arms catch me, keeping me from landing in the cold, wet snow. I heard a soft, velvety voice speak to me, shushing me and reassuring me that I was safe. And it was before I blacked out that I heard the words I had been dreaming of hearing for years. "Shh, I've got you, my little one. No one will ever harm you, you are safe. I've got you my little mate. And I'm not letting go." He spoke before darkness fell upon me.

I hope you liked this chapter!!! The song at the top is literally what I was hearing when I wrote this chapter. I love the movie!!!
I wanted to inform anyone who's reading this that I, hopefully, will be updating every Wednesday until around January if I don't finish this story by the New Year. I also wanted to inform you that despite my previous sentence I might not upload next Wednesday due to it being Thanksgiving next week, but I will try to find a time to upload it for that week.
Thank you to everyone who decides to read this. I hope you can understand Lilith's frustration and anger.
How'd you feel about that ending?
Who would make a good Nathaniel (Lilith's dad)? And who would make a good Katherine (Lilith's mom)?
Have a Fantastic Day!!
