Fear Ensues: Her Beta Chapter 15

Her Beta

A/N: As I asked at the end of the last chapter, and in case you didn't read it, I wanted your opinions on if I should write a sequel featuring one of Oliver and Lilith's children as the main character? I would love if you would be willing to spend a few seconds and write either 'yes' or 'no', and possibly giving your reason. Thank you!!

Chapter 15:

Sparks. That was what was coursing up and down my body at the moment. Sparks that were originating from the very sensitive part of my neck where my mark lay. I couldn't help but arch my head even further into my pillow, allowing my neck to be even more exposed to the cause of the sparks. I also couldn't help letting out a quiet moan at the feel of the sparks.

I felt the area around me shift slightly before I felt something pushing my shoulder down lightly to the bed so that I was laying on my back. Heat began to radiate above me as the origin of the sparks began to move down my neck to my torso where the blankets began to inch down me, paving the path for the sparks to follow. It was at my belly button that sparks ignited even stronger as something wet glided around my belly button before the sparks were suddenly cut off completely. At least, they were until the sparks heavily ignited against my lips.

"Mm. You're so mean!" I whined out when the sparks stopped and the pressure against my lips was gone. I only received a chuckle in response before I opened my eyes to look up at my mate with a pout on my lips.

"I'm not mean; I was trying to wake you up by just kissing your mark, but you just had to make that little breathy moan of yours and I couldn't hold back from kissing your body. If either of us is the mean one here, it is you because you had to tempt me so much." Oliver retorted. I just laughed and rolled my eyes. Oliver smiled back as he leaned down to me to kiss me again. Oliver's hands continued to slide up and down my sides as he kissed me.

"Come on baby girl! Your mother is making pancakes and bacon, and I'm not afraid to eat it all myself!" My dad's voice sounded through the door. Oliver and I chuckled before getting dressed and walking out to the kitchen where my dad was holding my mom around her waist as she made breakfast, whispering in her ear. I cleared my throat when my dad began to kiss my mom's neck and she began to forget about the breakfast she was cooking. My sighed letting my mom go so that he could turn around to look at Oliver and I standing in the kitchen with them. "Did you have to interrupt your mom and I baby girl? That still feel weird to say since I've spent about eighteen years not knowing that you even existed." My dad said not really looking at anything in particular.

"Don't feel too weird because it's still odd to be called that. I've spent that same amount of time without you." I said with a smile as he looked up at me. He just smiled and nodded lightly. "And yes, I did have to interrupt you two. Mom is cooking, and I'd rather have her breakfast than fire or charred food, and it's only fair since you did the same thing moments ago to Oli and I, so deal with it." I replied back my dad chuckle. Oliver's hand squeezed mine for a second causing me to look up at him.

"Oli?" He asked curiously with a small smile.

"You call me Lili, so I get to call you Oli. It's only fair." I replied with a smile. Oliver's smile spread even further across his face. I kissed his cheek before I pulled us over to the counter seats where my mom had placed four plates full of food. Oliver and my dad sat on the ends of the counter while my mom and I sat on the inside next to each other. As I ate my breakfast, I almost moaned with how amazing it tasted but figured that I didn't need to wind Oliver up any further than he already was.

Our breakfast was quiet and peaceful until the sound of pounding feet began to approach. We all immediately moved to see what was happening. My dad's beta, Jacob, suddenly stopped in front of us with a grim look on his face. We immediately tensed in anticipation.

"There has been an attack, alpha. The Onyx pack was attacked! Their pack house has been burnt to the ground! There were no casualties; Alpha Vane Lakes said that the only problem they have is that they have nowhere to stay now, and everyone is covered slightly in ash. I told him that he was free to come here but that they would have to come in wolf form, and he would have to meet us at the border." Jacob informed us. My tight squeeze on Oliver's hand being the only thing that kept him next to me. I knew he was worried about his brother and the pack, as was I, but he couldn't just go running off without knowing everything.

"Good work, Jacob. We shall all go down to greet our new guests. Prepare four seats at the front for while we wait for our guests." My dad spoke as Jacob listened intently. Jacob turned his eyes to Oliver and I in confusion as to why we would be at the front with my parents and not behind them as guests would normally stay. "Jacob, prepare the pack in front before our guests are to arrive. I must inform and introduce them to my daughter, Lilith, and her mate, Beta Oliver of Onyx Pack." My dad instructed upon seeing the expression in Jacob's eyes. Jacob immediately bowed to both Oliver and I before he ran off to get the pack together.

We all relaxed a bit as we stood there after Jacob left. I looked up at Oliver to see that he was watching me. I smiled to reassure him that everything was alright. He smiled back softly. We all began walking down to the border line to the pack. Upon arriving, my dad got everyone's attention immediately. Everyone looked at Oliver and I curiously since we were standing beside my father.

"My pack, you have been informed that a neighboring pack will be arriving soon due to an attack that was put upon them, but I call you here early to inform you of some good news in this time. My mate, your Alpha female, Katherine and I have been reunited with our daughter." My dad proclaimed to the pack before they burst into excited howls of joy. I smiled at their happiness. Somehow my dad got them to be quiet again. "This is our daughter, your future Alpha female, Lilith Alux Lacrus and her mate, former Beta of Onyx and your future Alpha alongside my daughter, Oliver Thomas Lakes. Please treat them with the respect that they deserve and welcome them to our pack!" My dad finished. The pack howled out in joy again before they all bowed their heads to us.

"Looks like I'm going to need to start looking for a new Beta if you're the next Alpha here." A male voice sounded from behind us. We turned to see the whole of the Onyx pack behind us with Vane and Audra at their front. Vane was happily holding Audra by the hand as he looked at us with pride. "I always knew you were meant to be your own alpha, Oliver. I just never thought it would be the biggest one near us." Vane continued with a smile.

Oliver smiled back at his brother with his head held high. I smiled at the both of them before I pulled Audra into a warm hug. Once we'd separated, I moved over to Vane and hugged him despite him tensing slightly at first. I moved away from Vane and back to Oliver. My parents came and stood beside us.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Alpha Vane, even if the circumstances behind our first meeting are not the greatest. I am also sorry that I will need to steal your younger brother, but my daughter is my only heir. So it is up to her to lead my pack soon, and she will need her mate to stand by her side in support as her Alpha." My dad spoke as he shook hands with Vane and my mom hugged Audra.

"You're pregnant!" My mom exclaimed after she separated from her hug with Audra. She held Audra at arm's length away from her and looked at her surprised.

"Yes, I am. How did you know that?" Audra asked curiously. I was with her in that curiousity.

"A female wolf who's had her own pups can tell when another female wolf is pregnant." My mom explained with a smile. Audra looked surprised, but she smiled at my mom nonetheless. "I'm Katherine, Lilith's mom and current Luna here. This is my mate, current Alpha, and Lilith's dad, Nathaniel Lacrus. I'm happy to meet you." My mom spoke with a smile. Audra smiled back and nodded to them both as my dad pulled my mom back into his arms.

We escorted everyone into the pack house to find rooms to relax in. Vane, Audra, Oliver, my parents, and I walked up to the Alpha level of the pack house to speak and get Vane and Audra settled. After we showed them to a room, they went to get the ash off of them and we headed to the living room to wait for them.

In less than twenty minutes, Vane and Audra entered the room and sat in a chair next to us that was facing the couch where my parents sat. I was on Oliver's lap sideways again, but facing the opposite direction from last night so that I was facing Audra and Vane. Vane held Audra on his lap to mirror us.

"Our pack was attacked by the same rouges that killed our parents. I would know their specific stench anywhere. They looked pissed off, especially the one that seemed to be in charge. He looked as if he were searching for something or someone and couldn't find it, so he ordered our pack house to be burnt down to the ground. We got everyone to a safe place away from where they seemed to be heading, and we got the fire put out. But the whole place was destroyed, there is only ashes and snow where our homes used to be." Vane stated to start our little informal conference of sorts. Oliver's grip on me strengthened as he listened to his brother, but my head had already begun to travel somewhere else. "We got a lot of our belongings out of the houses before they were all totally destroyed, but we diddn't get a whole lot either." Vane continued.

"What matters is that everyone is safe, and you are all welcome to stay here until we can figure out how to help you-" My dad began to say in response.

"Do you have anything from them? Anything they may have dropped or left behind. Anything at all of theirs?" I asked looking at Vane. He looked at me confused for having interrupting my dad and asking an odd question, but he nodded his head and passed me a note. I quickly took it from his hands and began to read it out loud. "'To Whom It May Concern, I want what is mine. I can tell that you know longer possess what is mine, so I am destroying your homes for your incompetence in keeping what is mine here for me. But don't worry, I will not stay to listen to your pathetic screams as the fire consumes you. I am off to find what is mine and take it back. If you have read this, then congratulations because you are the only one to survive. I am off to find my wife and my child.' That's all it says, but the scent is his. He found my scent and burned the pack down because I wasn't there. He's coming." I breathed out as slow hot tears began to run down my cheeks.

I turned to look at my mom. She was sitting tense with wide eyes filled with horror in my dad's arms. She looked me in the eyes, and we both knew that he'd be here soon. He would be coming here to take the two of us. He had found us, and there was nowhere for us to run anymore. We were both terrified of what this all meant.

"Who's coming? What's going on? Katherine, speak to me. What's going on?" My dad asked looking at my mom with concern. His gaze kept shifting between the two of us.

"Lilith." Oliver spoke cautiously. I turned my head to look at him. Tears still rolled slowly down my cheeks. "The rouge that killed my parents, is he the rouge that's been chasing you and your mother?" Oliver asked softly. I shakily nodded my head in agreement. Oliver moved his hands to hold my face as he rested his forehead against mine.

"There is a delusional rouge after me because he thinks I'm to be his mate and Lilith is to be is darling daughter. He has been chasing us for thirteen years now. He has killed so many, and now he has found us." My mom's devastated voice explained. Oliver's arms tightened immediately as my dad's tightened around my mom, and they both growled at the idea of someone taking us.

We stayed in that living room for about another hour in silence. We all were too wrapped up in our thoughts to talk anymore. It was only when a huge crash sounded through the pack house like an explosion that we moved. My dad instructed Vane to take Audra and go stay in their room as a precaution. My mom and I had already bolted out of the room to see what was going one before anyone had a chance to stop us.

The sight before us was horrifying. From the top of the stairs, my mom and I could see that the lowest level was being torn apart and set on fire by rouges with black mud clumped in their fur. But was the sight of an older male rouge in human form that caused the most fear within us because he was the rouge I had met thirteen years ago when he killed five children my age in front of me.

A shot of fear was sent through me when his eyes landed on my mother and I, and a smile spread across his face. "I was right, your mother is as beautiful as you my little girl. It is time we leave this horrendous place, my love. My little girl." His scratchy voice sounded up to us. We watched as he sent wolves for us. We immediately bolted from the railing and toward our mates. Suddenly a huge arm wrapped around my middle and I was yanked backwards; a scream leaving my lips instantly. I watched as Oliver tried to run toward me, but I was yanked up into the man's hold as he jumped through a window to the outside.

I still hope that you are enjoying this story. As I said before, I am posting these chapters because I've gotten really far in writing them, and I just want to share them with you!! The song is Echo- Jason Walker, sorry about the tvd pic of it. It was just the one I clicked on of the song.

What do you think will happen now for Lilith? Why do you think this wolf wants her and her mother so much? Do you believe he succeeded in getting both Lilith and Katherine (Lilith's mom)?

Have an AWESOME day!!
