Chapter 40

“It took so much time and effort to plan for today, that person must be here and wants to watch a good show.”

Lin Suiyan said in a low voice, looking at Gao Peng, “You should know how important a person’s reputation is. Today, you are slandering my lover here for no reason just because someone instructed you to. As long as you tell me who the person behind the scenes is I can pretend that this matter never happened and will ignore you.”

Mu Lang smiled: “After Suiyan got married, I thought he’d become a Buddhist. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you get angry.”

He turned to Gao Peng, his beautiful eyes flashed while watching the bustling scene before him with a large smile: “Hey, buddy, are you ready to meet President Lin’s anger?”

Gao Peng heard the implied meaning in Mu Lang’s words, and his trembling became even more severe. He stammered, “We live in a society ruled by law. You can’t do anything to me…”

Su Yuli’s eyes lit up and he immediately turned to look at Guo Hai.

Guo Hai’s face twitched, Su Yuli’s expression clearly meant that he wanted to see him kneel down. If he really knelt down, how could he stay in A city in the future?

Fortunately, Lin Suiyan stopped him. He looked into Guo Hai’s eyes with a smile and said, “It’s just a joke. Vice President Guo was just concerned about our feelings, right?”

Looking at Lin Suiyan, who seemed to know everything, a drop of perspiration fell from his temples. “Yes, yes, what Lin said is true.” he said with a sneer.

Back in the room, Su Yuli kicked off his shoes and lay on the bed: “Guo Hai obviously directed this incident from behind the scenes. Unfortunately, he is very slippery and he didn’t leave any evidence. We can’t do anything to him.”

He rolled over, “I really wanted to see him kneel.”

Lin Suiyan took off his tie and sat down beside Su Yuli. “Then why didn’t you say anything just now?”

Su Yuli was lying on the bed with his arm propped up, and his eyes were shining brightly at Lin Suiyan, “Those romance books say that you have to give face to your own man outside. And you’re so… so smart, that you must have a reason for what you do.”

In the dead of night, a full moon hung high in the sky, and the surroundings were silent except for the sound of the sea breeze blowing.

Luo Xing was standing on the deck, his black hair and camel-colored windbreaker were being blown by the salty and wet sea breeze. After a while, there were very light footsteps behind him.

Luo Xing turned around and saw Guo Hai standing not far behind, looking at him angrily.

Luo Xing raised his eyebrows and smiled at Guo Hai: “Here you are.”

Guo Hai frowned and growled at Luo Xing, “Didn’t you say that the plan was foolproof? What’s going on now?”
