CH 38.2
Married To A Savage Duke
Lecter banged his fist on the table.
â Itâs all because of you. Whenever you go out to the village, you get into a fight with the gangsters.â
âDonât talk like they didnât try to rob me. Anyway, we should ask the bossâ permission about this. We canât leave just because weâre talking amongst ourselves. We must obey the boss.â
Despite having a rebellious character, Axel shrugged his shoulders and admitted gently.
The atmosphere felt like Axel and Lecter were omitting something and she found that suspicious.
However, Cherryl chose to remain silent.
Cade might not allow her to go out due to security issues.
Suddenly, Cole sprang up from his seat.
âMoo! Come here.â
He was looking somewhere and shouting with his hands around his mouth.
From a distance, a black wolf found their group and came in running towards them.
It was a male wolf Cherryl had named âMoâ.
The wolf approached quickly, rushing into Coleâs arms as if to tackle him.
Axel got disgusted while watching Cole stroke the wolf.
âDonât you think I made that mistake on purpose?â
Mo jumped up and down like a spring due to excitement as if Cole was the only one he liked.
The wolf standing on his hind legs was even larger than Cole, whose height was more than one-eighty centimeters, and even his exuberance could look threatening.
The instant he got hit by the beastâs huge front paw, he stumbled with a loud thud.
Axel looked up at him and snorted.
âEven if youâre not smart, does it make sense that you canât memorize a name even if it only has one syllable? What do you mean by âMooâ? Do you mean the herbivore?â
Axel sarcastically asked, âWhy donât you just call it âcowâ?â
âYouâre so mean. Cole has gotten a lot better. It used to be worse.â Lecter said as he handed Lucy a milk bottle while she was slicing a loaf of bread. âDonât you remember? He used to call us âheyâ, âyouâ, and âmanâ, instead of our names. We assumed he was a snob. Itâs just that he had a hard time memorizing names.â
âOh. Heâs trying to call my name now, despite his poor memory.â
When Cherryl added a word, Lecter smiled.
âThatâs what Iâm saying.â
Axel shook his chin in disagreement.
âYou donât have to tolerate his nonsense, sister. You gave this lovely wolf a name but Cole calling it âMooâ is a bit too harsh. Cole needs to be more sincere. He should not only train his swordsmanship skills on a fictional day but also develop his memorization skills by reading books.â
Cole, who was scrambling the wolfâs fur as if he was dying of how cute it was, glanced at Axel.
âThis hyena is insulting me as if  Iâm not next to him right now. Heâs demanding to get hit again.â
âWhy is âreading a bookâ an insult? Do you feel guilty?â
âDo you think I canât memorize a one-syllable name? Calling him âMuâ is a joke, of course. Donât curse at me to read a book again.â
âOh, I guess you havenât heard any bad words yet. AHHHHHHHHHH! Â The part where my brother had beaten me earlier still hurts.â
Axel patted his shoulder and made a deliberate sound of pain.
Cherryl finally realized why his voice was slightly husky.
They had trained at the arena since this morning and he implied that Cole had beaten the sh*t out of him  during the competition.
Cole raised his fist and clenched Axelâs head.
âYouâre just an ignorant young man who canât even drink and now youâre acting rude? Donât mess with me.â
âYou better prepare yourself on the day of my Coming-Of-Age ceremony. I will remember this humiliation and bestow it to Lecter from that day onwards.â
âWhy? No! Iâm innocent. Why are you doing this to me?â
Lecter, who was watching the commotion, became furious.
However, he quickly relaxed his countenance and stole glances at Lucy.
âDonât get us wrong. Weâre really close despite the loud arguments.â
âOh! Yes, Â I wonât. Boys tend to grumble a lot when expressing closeness rather than being nice to each other.â
âBoys?â Axel, who repeated Lucyâs words as if he was listening to the whole time, burst into laughter. âDo you think weâre freaking children?â
That woman, whom Lecter liked, kept hesitating when it came to discussing small subjects, but she suddenly spoke without hesitation from out of nowhere.
âIâm afraid that Cherrylâs maid was too direct.â
Thinking so, Axel stared at Lucy on purpose.
When Lucy got frightened by his grim countenance, Lecter raised his fist and punished Axel.
âOh my god!â
âDonât be afraid, Lucy. Axel likes to play pranks but he isnât a bad person. Heâs just sarcastic trash.â
âIs it that an insult or a compliment?â
âItâs a compliment. You donât have to be scared, Lucy. My brother is a reliable person who will protect you even if he has to sacrifice his life.â
âWell, thatâs not wrong.â
Behind the grumbling Axel, the wolf was seen playing with Coleâs trousered leg.
When he shook his head like crazy as if he was playing a tug, the fabric suddenly ripped.
âNo!â
Cole screamed and pulled the wolf off his trousers with a frightening force.
The wolf he had pushed looked up at him glumly and this time he came at Cherryl with a gallop.
âOh my god!â
Lucy, who expected the wolf to act similar to what he did with Cole, bit her nails in fright.
