Chapter 828 Chloe Falls Asleep
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
In the Sullivan manor, all the curtains in Noah's bedroom were tightly drawn, preventing even the
smallest ray of light from seeping in. He and Chloe were lying on their sides facing each other in the
same bed. Chloe's hands and feet were bound, and her body felt weak. Her eyes were wide open
as she glared at him.
"Let me go!"
She was not sure what had happened this afternoon. During their argument, she suddenly felt a
stabbing pain in her waist before she fell unconscious. Her guess was that one of the helpers had
administered her a sedative.
Chloe was determined to make all these events public and eliminate the hidden threats around her
when Desmond returned.
"You'll run away if I let you go," Noah said calmly, his gaze fixed on her. "You're disobedient."
"Fine, keep me tied up. Let's see how you explain this to Grandpa when he gets back," Chloe said
resolutely while glancing at the bedside table. She rarely entered Noah's room, but she knew there
was a pair of scissors in one of those drawers. If she could reach them after Noah left the room...
"Grandpa will probably just give me an earful. Youâre the one who wants to call off our marriage, so
youâre the one to blame here," he said, his eyes concealing suppressed anger. Something crossed
his mind and he blinked in an eerie manner. The anger faded quickly, replaced by a gentle smile.
"But you'll soon forget about Joseph. Weâll be happy, have children, and grow old together."
Chloeâs brows furrowed. Backing into a corner as her danger sensors went off, she stared at Noah
like a startled kitten bristling with fear. Noah merely stared at her deeply, then leaned down to plant
a kiss on her forehead. The scent of an unfamiliar man overwhelmed Chloeâs senses, and she
instinctively turned her head to evade his kiss.
Noticing her reaction, Noah became annoyed. He gripped her cheeks and turned her face toward
him. His voice grew gentler, but there was a tinge of madness in it.
"You can't escape me. We're meant to be together. Your relationship with Joseph was a mistake.
You and I were destined to get married before we were even born. I am the husband fate chose for
you. People should respect themselves and not waste time on past relationships. Besides me, who
else would tolerate your back-and-forth with your ex-husband?"
Noah looked fragile, but he was quite strong. And although he was restraining himself, the pressure
from his fingers still left red marks on her cheeks.
Chloe was in pain, yet she stubbornly glared at him. "Even if Joseph didnât exist, I would never like
you."
If Noah had remained gentle and kind, she might have compromised and married him. She would
even think that Noah marrying her would be a sacrifice on his part. However, his true nature
contradicted his facade, and his lies permeated every facet of their interactions. She could not
tolerate it.
Noah covered his ears as if doing so would make him deaf to her words. He felt his heart being
ripped to shreds, causing enormous pain that had never been so vivid before. Even the Heavens
seemed to be mocking him.
"You wouldnât like me if Joseph wasnât around? Really? I'm going to test that then."
Noah pulled out a liquid-filled syringe. Though his eyes were crimson like those of a child who had
cried himself to exhaustion, his words and actions were filled with menace.
Chloe backed away as far as she could. She shook her head in fear as tears welled up in her eyes.
"No... please..."
"Be a good girl and sleep for a while."
The sharp needle pierced her skin and the liquid flowed into her veins. Her eyelids grew heavy as
sleepiness quickly engulfed her. She could not resist and her eyes closed.
Noah caressed Chloe's cheek, his gaze filled with adoration. "After dawn, youâll belong to me."
