Chapter 50
Becoming The Villain’s Family
And he hardened his expression coldly again, as if he had never smiled.
âI believe that everyone was prepared and made fun of their mouths.â
The vassals who were unanimously opposed to those words shook their shoulders. They looked clearly in fear.
âDrawing a sword in the conference roomâ¦.â
If thatâs the case, then why did he call the vassals in the first place?
âHow can he do that?â
Aria felt strange. No matter how much Lloyd was Valentine, he had not yet inherited the title.
âHeâs just the successor.â
But he was leading the meeting on behalf of the Grand Duke, and no one questioned it.
Rather, they took it as if it was natural, and they couldnât even make a sound at the outright threats.
âYou must be prepared to pay the price for insulting my bride.â
âGrand, Grand Princeâ¦â
âLook forward to it.â
A subtle murderous energy was sharply melted into the low words.
Aria couldnât move from the spot as if her hands and feet were tied tight. She was weird, too.
âIt feelsâ¦..â
She always wanted to solve it with Sirenâs song, as she has always been.
Since the vassals will be staying overnight in the castle, they will go to their respective rooms and she was going to brainwash them. But she thought she might have to go find Carlin again, as her body hasnât been able to brainwash a lot of people at once.
âBut it was solved at once.â
Lloyd.
âIt was my job.â
It wasnât just her job anymore.
âBecause weâre a coupleâ¦.â
An insult to Aria was the same as an insult to Lloyd, and what will happen to Lloyd will be Ariaâs future.
Now officially.
âNow that I see it, I donât have to move behind the scenes without anyone elseâs knowledge.â
Now, there were people who realized her true identity as the Siren.
Sabina and Carlin.
Aria knew that both of them would never reveal Ariaâs identity in front of others.
âVincent didnât tell me anything, but he analyzes my behavior patterns at will.â
However, he didnât seem to have any intention of exposing or provoking Ariaâs secret. It just meant that he was always watching her with interest.
âMaybe he wants to be my person.â
Little by little, she was starting to feel it.
That she had a âfamilyâ now.
***
That was then.
â⦠Young Madam and Second Prince?â
ââ¦!â
Vincent turned his head in fright.
Aria was less responsive than Vincent, because before she heard the voice she felt a little bit of presence.
She just stared at the other person.
âI came here because I felt a presence, but what is going on hereâ¦â
It was Cloud.
âLloydâs escort knight.â
He must have never imagined that Aria and Vincent were hiding.
Cloud put the sword he had pulled out halfway back.
âAre you really going to try to cut us?â
Vincent asked with a stiff expression.
âThe Grand Prince ordered that all witnesses be dealt with⦠Iâm sorry.â
âHuh.â
At that moment, Vincent sighed briefly and showed an outright dislike expression.
âHmm?â
Aria was more surprised at Vincentâs reaction than to be caught hiding and eavesdropping. Itâs the first time he shows a sign of disdain in front of a person.
âIâve seen many times that he just flipped it with a big smile.â
Aria was intrigued in her heart, and she watched them both with interest.
âIt seems like I should report to the Grand Prince that the two of you are here.â
Cloud said as if to notify them.
The reaction was the most sensible of all the Black Falcon knights Aria had ever seen. To the point that she canât help but admire a bit.
âNo, why would you do that?â
But Vincent just found it absurd.
âWerenât you secretly listening?â
âI just saw a development that was sufficiently predictable even if I didnât see it right in front of my eyes.â
He frowned and responded.
âI donât know what you mean.â
âI knew they were going to come out like that.â
âWerenât you secretly listening?â
Cloud repeated the same thing. Vincent looked a little tired.
âLetâs just move on. Itâs not a big deal.â
âIf itâs not a big deal, Iâll report it.â
âItâs not a big deal, letâs not complicate things for nothing.â
âItâs not complicated. Iâve seen you two here, and Iâm just reporting what I saw.â
âOh, for Godâs sake!â
And Vincent seemed to explode in the end.
âIf you report it, Sir Cloud will get scolded for almost slashing sister-in-law! Sir, donât you think about it? Why are you so inflexible?â
âWhat is flexible?â
âWhatâ¦..!â
Vincent let out a gasp. And he murmured in disbelief, as if he had seen the end of the world.
ââ¦donât you know about flexible?â
When he sounded ignorant, Vincent was lashing out with all sorts of sarcastic remarks.
âThere were quite a few times when I really wanted to hit you when youâre talking about intelligence to the point that it was so severe.â
But to say that they donât know how to be flexible in front of such a person. Aria seemed to understand why Vincent was overreacting to Cloud.
âYou donât know about flexible, how do you know the word report? How do you know the word witness? Do you know the dictionary meaning of processing? How the hell do you know about presence!â
âI just said I donât know because I donât know.â
âAaarghh!â
Vincent couldnât control his temper and staggered as if dizzy. Then Cloud supported him.
âLet go of me!â
âYou have a bad complexion.â
âI donât want help from a gorilla who talks!â
âAre there such creatures?â
Itâs you, you!
Vincent roared.
âHow do you know the word creature!â
He must have been very shocked that there were people who did not know flexible.
âMaybe he really doesnât know.â
Cloud was about the same age as Lloyd, but he even joined the Black Falcon knights.
Above all, he was enough to take on the task of escorting the Heir Apparent among the many knights. Even if they can hold a sword from the age they canât even walk, itâs impossible without great talent.
âIt looks like he just put all of his effort into his innate talent.â
Just like Vincent studied more desperately because he was a gifted genius.
What about being a little ignorant? He just has to do his job well.
âI donât know what flexible is, but if you teach me, Iâll learn.â
âAh⦠Iâm going to faint.â
He shook his head and muttered. Then, this time, Cloud looked down at him as if he couldnât understand.
Itâs unbelievable how he gets excited about trivial things by himself, and then he collapses from exhaustion.
âYou seem too weak.â
ââ¦..â
Vincent stopped, lost his words and shut his mouth.
âExtreme geniuses find each other.â
It would be nice to get along well.
âHmm, no. This is a bitâ¦â¦â
Heâs the only knight that makes Vincent mad. As she saw Vincent lost his reason and ran rampant, as if the core that had accumulated inside him was unraveling.
As Aria was thinking so, a familiar voice came from behind her.
âWhat are you doing?â
It was Lloyd.
Vincent was screaming so loudly that he couldnât help it, even if he tried to ignore it.
Lloyd stood next to Aria and asked absurdly.
âWhy are you being so noisy?â
Aria picked up her card and pointed to Cloud at those words.
[After the ceremony is over, I want Sir Cloud to take over my escort for a while.]
And seeing the card, Vincentâs face turned pale.
***
âSmile, Young Madam!â
Aria looked curiously at the clear glass marble that was facing her.
âItâs a video sphere.â
It was the first time she actually saw the video sphere.
For it was forbidden to record the Siren singing. It was, of course, a rule that Count Cortez had set at will. It was based on the logic that the Siren should be scarce and that they should not be easily accessed through video.
âI donât know how you are so lovely. Even the fairies in the forest will be mesmerized when they see the Young Madam.â
Dana admired and took a picture of Aria.
âThatâs right. When the Young Madam bursts into laughter, the white snow from the sky will mistake it as spring and will melt by itself!â
Far from stopping Dana, Maronnier was taking another step.
âYou know what? I was looking for the Young Madam for a long time in the flower garden yesterday. But I soon realized that it was useless.â
She said, shaking her head.
âNo matter where I looked, I couldnât quite reach the brightness of the Young Madam.â
Stop it.
Aria reached out her hand and covered the girlâs mouth.
She felt like she was being brainwashed as she listened to their quick conversation.
Marronnier said âEupeup!â â and shook her head to and fro, then Aria finally took her hand away and let out a sigh.
âI know you donât believe me. You always looked suspiciously.â
Aria looked at herself in the mirror.
Her image was reflected in the mirror she had always avoided because she was afraid to face each other.
