Chapter 14

13 | Dandelion

The Number On The Napkin

"Ah, well if it isn't my little dandelion calling me two times in a row."

"Good morning Alec."

"So what is my dandelion doing on this fine morning."

"Your... dandelion... is cooking hangover eggs."

"Hangover eggs? Did you—?"

"They're not for me, they're for my friend. I couldn't take her home because her parents would die right on the spot if they new their little baby had one too many Jell-O shots last night."

"The one from the coffee table?"

"That would be the one."

"Wow. Well aren't you a good friend."

"I am a good friend aren't I? I should get an award of some kind."

"You know, what really helped me in my party days was cheese. Put a lot of cheese in it."

"In your party days?"

"Oh yeah. That was a rough year."

"So you really partied a lot huh?"

"Yup. One moment of weakness grew into something a lot bigger. But like I said, I'm a lot wiser and I can kind of just laugh about it."

"Wow. Your life sounds so interesting. Mine is... not. It's just dull and kinda mundane."

"Well maybe your life was more uneventful in the past but look what your doing now. Living everyday like it is the most important day of your life. Right?"

"Yeah. At least that's what I'm trying to do."

"So there you go. Make those the best eggs you have ever made in your life. But not just for your friend, for you."

"I will!"

"You know who taught me how to think like that?"

"Who? Your mom?"

"What? No, you, you dimwit."

"Ooohhh. Aw, the student has become the teacher. You know I was just thinking— what?"

"I didn't say anything."

"No, not you. Yeah, I'm on the phone. I'm talking to Alec, the one I was telling you about."

"Aww, you talk about me?"

"Shush. And no, you can't talk to him. Because. Because. Because. Because."

"Oh my god just give them the phone!"

"Hi this is Sasha, Daisy's friend, I just wanted to tell you that if you hurt her, I will find you, and I will kill you."

"Ah, the infamous line from Taken."

"Yeah I love that movie. No but seriously, hurt her and I will find out where you live, come into your house, tie or tape you down to a chair, take an egg and—"

"Ok, I think that's enough."

"Wait! I want to know what she's going to do with the egg!"

"No you don't. You really don't."

"Oh. Now I'm slightly scared."

"You should be. You really should be. Gotta go, bye."

.....................................

"I just got chills. I'm going to lock the doors."
