Chapter 656 - No One’s Ever Dared To Lay Claim on My Things
My Wife Slaps People in the Face Online Daily
After her shower, Gu Mang came out of the bathroom while drying her hair with a towel. Lu Chengzhou was in the middle of a phone call. His thin lips were pressed together and his expression was grave. âMaster Bi said that the piece was composed by Gu Yin?â
His hand rested on the kitchen counter, his fingers drumming against it. In front of it was an opened packet of noodles. It appeared as if he had been preparing to cook noodles but got interrupted by a phone call. His intimidating aura permeated the entire open kitchen and the atmosphere became even colder when the person on the other end said something to him.
âWho paid for the trending topic?â When he looked up and saw his fiancée standing nearby, he recomposed himself and approached her, the iciness in his eyes fading away.
On the other end, Lu YÄ« replied in a respectful tone, âMaster Biâs assistant was involved in the matter and they got the Piano Association to publish the post. The major websites dared not offend you nor Master Bi, so theyâre feigning ignorance about it. An An, the second daughter of Country Kâs president, paid people to leave fake online comments castigating Miss Gu.â
Those who had praised Gu Mang to the skies earlier for her brilliant composition were now condemning her to hell.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Lu Chengzhou led Gu Mang over to the sofa to take a seat. He then took a few chocolates from the coffee table and handed them to her, his voice dropping low out of habit. âEat some chocolates first. Iâll cook noodles for you after this call.â
Lu YÄ« was speechless when he heard his bossâ gentle tone, which was a stark contrast to the icy voice the man had used with him earlier.
Gu Mang already had a rough idea of what had happened. It wasnât very difficult to piece together. She did not say anything about it and instead just wrapped the towel around her head before taking the chocolates from him. Picking up the cup of honey water he had prepared for her and placed on the table in advance, she took a sip and then unwrapped a piece of white chocolate to eat.
Lu Chengzhou held her hand as he said in a deep, icy tone, âThe president has kept his second daughter away from the media for twenty-odd years, so many people probably want to meet her now that sheâs in the capital.â
âI understand,â answered Lu YÄ« a moment later.
After ending the call, Lu Chengzhou looked sideways and noticed that Gu Mang was reading an article on Weibo, expressionless. Her phone showed a Q&A segment from Master Biâs interview. As she continued reading it, she cocked an eyebrow and her lips slowly formed a wicked smirk on her face. She put an arm on the backrest of the sofa and tutted. âThe music was composed by Gu Yin who he desperately wants as his student, huh?â
âDo you have the original score?â Lu Chengzhou asked.
âNo,â she replied carelessly before looking in his direction. When she noticed that he did not quite seem to understand what she was saying, she turned her body slightly to face him while looking slightly irritated. âIt was randomly written, like I said before. Music is just a hobby of mine, so why would I need to write it down?â
The song was created out of boredom when she had been sick and tired of smoking and playing with a lighter. She had never expected it to stir up so much trouble.
Lu Chengzhouâs eyebrows furrowed slightly when he heard her reply. Doesnât that mean she has no evidence to prove that itâs her creation?
Gu Mang licked her lips, her gaze returning to the screen. In a deep and hoarse voice she said, âNo oneâs ever dared to lay claim on my things.â
Suddenly Gu Mang got a call. The caller ID said âan old friend,â which got Lu Chengzhouâs attention. Tapping the side of her phone, she answered the call and put it on speaker mode before placing the phone on the coffee table.
âGu Mang, whatâs with that online post? How did your composition become Gu Yinâs?â An aged but somewhat aloof voice came from the other end. âI always thought that you were the one who Master Bi wanted as his student. Did something happen that led him to mistakenly choose Gu Yin?â
She laughed at that. In a deep voice, she said, âIs it my business that he made a mistake?â
Hearing that, the caller chuckled. âNo, of course not.â
Gu Mang had never agreed to become Master Biâs student. It was the maestro and the others who blindly sided with Gu Yin and helped her tread on Gu Mang.
