Chapter 909 - I’m Here, Don’t Be Afraid

After confirming that Yi Lanlan and Dang Nan didn’t have the same need, Chi Jiao held Bai Weiyu’s hand and walked into the forest.

The small forest was very quiet. Some birds were standing on the branches. They chirped curiously as they watched her pull Bai Weiyu deeper into the forest.

When they reached a place where no one would approach, Chi Jiao let go of her. “Alright, I’ll wait for you here. Don’t venture too far.”

Bai Weiyu nodded and went deeper into the forest.

About five minutes later, Bai Weiyu was still not back.

Just as Chi Jiao was worried, she heard Bai Weiyu shouting from the depths of the forest, “Jiaojiao, come here quickly…!”

Worried that something had happened to her, Chi Jiao rushed over and found her standing in front of a dilapidated wooden house.

“There’s actually a wooden hut here.” Chi Jiao looked up at the wooden hut. They suddenly heard a dog whimpering.

Peering through the window, they saw a large black dog with injuries all over its body tied to a beam. It had a muzzle over its jaws and was lying listlessly on the ground. The dog didn’t even notice the girls’ presence.

“Ah, what a big dog! It seems to be injured,” Bai Weiyu said as she looked at the large black dog.

Only then did the dog look at them.

“Its eyes are so special and beautiful,” Chi Jiao said with a sigh as she looked at the large black dog’s golden eyes.

“Whimper! Whimper!” The large black dog stood up. It had many wounds on its body, and it looked like it had been starving for a long time. It was so thin that it was all skin and bones. It kept going around in circles.

“Oh my god, is it being abused? Why is it covered in wounds and so thin?!” Bai Weiyu’s heart softened as she cried out.

“It looks quite pitiful.” Chi Jiao could sense that the large black dog was not ferocious. She recalled the barking she heard last night. Perhaps it was this dog.

The large black dog was still whimpering non-stop. It wagged its tail ingratiatingly and kept scratching at the muzzle. It then padded towards the door, straining against the chains around its neck. It looked like it wanted to leave this place.

“Weiyu, wait for me here. I’ll go in and release it.” Chi Jiao looked at the injuries on the large black dog’s body. She felt that if she didn’t treat it now, it might die here.

Although she wasn’t an especially kind-hearted person, she couldn’t bear to see an innocent animal being tortured to death.

“Are you going in alone? Why don’t you ask the teachers for help?” Bai Weiyu said worriedly.

“It’s alright. Just wait for me for a few minutes,” Chi Jiao said as she walked to the wooden door.

She saw the lock.

It was a very sturdy iron lock, and chains were even wrapped around it. It was obvious that the person who was abusing the large black dog didn’t want it to leave so easily.
