chapter 12
My Cold Husband!(Completed)
Two Days LaterThe suitcase lay open on the bed, half-packed. Y/N's fingers trembled as she smoothed out the sleeve of Jungkook's blazer before placing it inside. She took her time, carefully folding each item, making sure everything was in order-like always.Like she always did.Every crease, every neatly aligned shirt, every item packed with care-everything was perfect. Everything was the way it should be.Except for the man she was packing for.The room was silent except for the soft rustling of fabric as Y/N folded Jungkook's neatly ironed suits, placing them carefully into the open suitcase. Each movement was deliberate, methodical, as if keeping her hands busy would silence the storm inside her mind. She reached for the stack of files on the nightstand, setting them gently on top of his clothes before pulling the zipper shut.A deep sigh escaped her lips. His packing was done. Now, it was her turn.Jungkook had been coming home earlier than usual these past few days, a change that hadn't gone unnoticed. At lunch, he had casually announced the upcoming trip to Busan-part business, part leisure, as his cousins insisted on taking them out.And Leena, of course, had been the most excited.Y/N's hands trembled slightly as she folded a dress, her mind adrift in thoughts that refused to quiet. Being apart from Jungkook shouldn't feel like this-it shouldn't feel like ripping away something fragile, something that had never fully belonged to her in the first place. But she had learned to bear it, to endure the quiet rejection carved into every indifferent glance, every word spoken without warmth. She had tried so hard to ignore it.But those words..."I hate you, Y/N.""Jungkook used to love someone else.""You were never the one he wanted."The bitterness of them echoed in her chest, pressing against the hollow space where her heart used to beat freely."What if I ask him?"The thought gripped her with a dangerous kind of hope, one that burned and clawed, demanding answers. She had never questioned him before-not about the distance between them, not about the coldness in his touch, not about the ghost of another woman lingering in his silence. But tonight, she would. The bathroom door creaked open, breaking her trance. She wiped a trembling thumb across the corner of her eye before turning slightly."Done with packing?" His voice was casual, unreadable. She could only shake her head.Jungkook hummed in acknowledgment, walking past her to the wardrobe. If he had noticed her tension, the way her fingers twisted in the fabric of her dress, he didn't show it.Her voice was barely above a whisper when she spoke. "Jungkook."He hummed in response. Y/N clenched her hands into fists. "Can I ask you something?"Something in her voice must have caught his attention because this time, he looked up, briefly glancing her way. "What is it?" He closed the wardrobe, a blue file now in his hands. He moved to the bed, flipping through the pages with the same disinterest he always showed her.She hesitated. Her throat was dry, her pulse hammering against her ribs.Maybe she shouldn't ask. Maybe she should let it go, swallow it down like she had every other time she felt like she was disappearing into nothing. But this ache-this unbearable weight in her chest-was suffocating. She took a deep breath. "That day... Leena said something.""What?" He didn't look up. "Speak clearly and faster. I don't have time for this."A bitter laugh almost escaped her. When did you ever have time for me?Y/N forced herself to keep going. "She said there was someone else before me."The air in the room shifted. For two full minutes, there was nothing but silence. A heavy, suffocating silence.Jungkook froze. It was subtle-so subtle that someone who didn't know him wouldn't have noticed-but Y/N did. The barely-there clench of his jaw. The way his fingers twitched, tightening slightly around the file. Then-Jungkook slowly stood. The file in his grip tightened, knuckles white against the paper. Y/N swallowed hard. "Mia," she whispered. "Is it true?"For a moment, he didn't speak. His silence deafening. Y/N's breath hitched as his dark gaze met hers. It was unreadable, but beneath the surface, something simmered. Something dangerous.Had she crossed a line? No.No, she deserved to know. The pain was already there, curling in her chest, suffocating her. She was done pretending she could live in the dark. Then, without looking at her, he muttered, "Drop it."The dismissal stung. But Y/N refused to back down. "Jungkook."This time, he looked at her.The way his gaze settled on hers-impassive, indifferent, like she was an inconvenience-made her insides twist painfully."Did you love her?" she asked, voice so soft it almost broke. Her voice wavered, but the weight of the question stood firm.Jungkook didn't answer. His silence was a blade, and with every passing second, it twisted deeper into her ribs. His jaw clenched, his body stiff as if he were holding something back-something buried, something breaking free despite his will.Y/N felt herself crumble. "Please... say something."Jungkook's jaw ticked. "Why are we talking about this?""Because I need to know," she whispered. He let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head. "What do you want me to say, Y/N? That I loved someone else? That she meant something to me?"Her breath caught."So, it's true," she murmured.Jungkook exhaled sharply, running a hand through his damp hair. "You knew that already."No denial. No hesitation. The air between them suddenly felt suffocating.Y/N's voice was barely a whisper. "Do you still love her?"His entire body went rigid. She saw the way his throat bobbed, the way his fingers curled at his sides. And then-"I told you to drop it."The coldness in his voice sent a chill down her spine. But Y/N refused to stop. She couldn't."Do you think about her when you look at me?" she whispered. "Is that why-""Enough."The single word was like a knife. But she wasn't done. Not yet.Y/N took a shaky breath, her entire body trembling. "Do you regret marrying me?"Jungkook exhaled sharply. "We're leaving for Busan tomorrow. Focus on that. We talk some other time." Some other time. She shook her head, tears welling. Some days for him were just passing time. For her, they were torture. She had been waiting. Always waiting. But not anymore. As he moved past her, she reached out without thinking, her fingers wrapping around his wrist. His body tensed instantly at the contact.Y/N sucked in a shaky breath. "I can't wait," she whispered. Her voice trembled, raw with emotion. "That's all I've been doing, isn't it? Waiting for you to look at me like a husband should. Waiting for you to speak to me without that coldness in your voice. I waited, hoping that one day, you would tell me why-why you look at me with so much indifference, why I feel like nothing to you."She bit her lip, pressing a hand to her chest as if it could hold back the breaking inside her."I can't wait anymore, Jungkook. Please. Not today." She reached for him then, grasping his wrist before he could turn away.Jungkook clenched his teeth. "Y/N, let go.""No. I won't." He stilled."I've waited long enough." She turned him toward her, her eyes searching his desperately. Desperation clawed at her insides. If she let him walk away now, she knew he never would answer.Jungkook clenched his jaw. "I never asked you to wait."The words hit like a physical blow.Y/N's breath hitched. She stared at him, searching for something-anything-but all she found was cold indifference. She let out a soft, broken laugh. "You really don't care, do you?"Something flickered in his eyes. Regret, maybe. But it was gone before she could grasp it.Y/N stepped closer, voice trembling. "Have you ever-ever-looked at me and thought, even for a second, that I was enough?""Tell me. Did you ever-ever-accept this marriage? Did you ever consider me as your wife?" Her voice was firm despite the tears threatening to spill.Jungkook stiffened. His throat bobbed, his gaze flickering-conflicted, wavering-but then, his walls shot back up, higher than ever.He exhaled harshly, his gaze dropping. That was answer enough. The breath in her lungs turned to ice.She felt sick, her stomach twisting painfully. Her hands trembled as she grabbed his collar, forcing him to look at her. "Tell me the truth, Jungkook. Who is Mia? Why do you treat me like I mean nothing to you?"Silence.Thick, suffocating silence. His eyes snapped to hers, dark and thunderous when she gripped the collar tightly forcing him to look at her. "Y/N." His voice was dangerously low. "You're crossing the line.""I don't care." The words burst from her, thick with agony. "Just tell me! Why do you hate me so much? Why is your heart warm for everyone else but ice for me?"She was shaking now, her body betraying her. Say something. Anything. Give me a reason. Give me something to hold onto."Tell me." Her fingers curled around the fabric of his shirt. "Tell me who Mia is. Tell me why you've treated me like this since the beginning."Her voice broke, but she no longer cared."WHY?" she cried. "WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS? WHY AM I NEVER ENOUGH FOR YOU, JEON-"The last thread of restraint snapped.Jungkook's hands trembled at his sides, his gaze dark, stormy, filled with a thousand emotions he refused to name. And then, the words left his lips before he could stop them-"BECAUSE YOU RUINED MY LIFE!""I hate you because you ruined my life."The air was sucked out of the room.Y/N's grip on his shirt loosened. Her body swayed slightly, as if she had just been struck.Jungkook's breathing was ragged, his chest rising and falling rapidly. his words still echoing between them like a cruel, unforgiving ghost. Her lips parted, but no sound came out.Ruined... his life? The weight of those words crushed her.She had always known she was unwanted. But hearing it-hearing it so clearly, so mercilessly-felt like being shattered from the inside out.The world blurred at the edges.Jungkook's expression faltered for a split second-like he wanted to take it back, like he hadn't meant for the words to cut so deep-but, it was too late. The damage was done. The knife was already buried.Y/N took a step back, swallowing the lump in her throat. The words sank in, burrowing into her bones, twisting into something ugly. She had always felt it. The distance, the indifference. But hearing it...Hearing it broke something in her beyond repair.ðð Please don't hurt her Jungkook! How was it ð¤§Tell me ok ð¥ºYour Coconut ð¥¥
