Ye Muyu walked ahead with Chu Heng by her side. She was still somewhat dazed and, after hesitating for quite a while, finally asked, “Did you remember something?”

“Sister Ye, why are you speaking for him?” Zhao Qingqing’s voice was soft. She was close to Ye Muyu and disliked Lin Mianmian, especially since Lin Mianmian’s intention to harm was clear at the last banquet.

All this was because Lord Chu had taken Lin Mianmian as a concubine, and this gave her the audacity, when a common concubine might not have mattered as much. But Lin Mianmian’s status was higher than Sister Ye’s.

Zhao Qingqing purposefully said this to show Chu Heng that she was on her side; anyone wishing to bully Sister Ye would have to consider the Zhao family’s stance.

“Alright, let’s go see the greenhouse.” Ye Muyu patted the back of her hand lightly, knowing Zhao Qingqing cared for her and wouldn’t let her be embarrassed.

Perhaps it was her own reaction that had led to the misunderstanding.

Zhao Qingqing obediently uttered an “Oh,” and kept quiet.

It was only then that Ye Muyu turned to Chu Heng and reminded him, “The two kids have probably gone to play in the village. Could you trouble yourself, my husband, to find them and bring them back? I will take Qingqing to the greenhouse first.”
