Chapter 10: Oh dear

The Queen, the first Queen the people of Dracon Kingdom has seen in a very long time. For centuries they waited for their stubborn yet powerful King to get himself someone to be by his side.

And now that they had their Queen they will shed blood for him. Usually it took more for people of any kingdom to want to willingly shed blood for their royals. Yet here they were, already without thinking ready to raise their weapons and cry out in war for their queen and his life.

What an honor and such a surprise for Lixue, though he didn't know their inner motivation.

They were very helpful and he was to them. For the first time Lixue was crowned as the queen and married to Valdemar, the work was something he'd expect.

But then the work he was doing was more helping the kids and less of what Valdemar had to deal with. He even would greet guests if Valdemar was running late.

Seemed normal enough.

That is till Valdemar had to head off to the docks, dealing with security and the safety of the transfered goods. Big stuff like that. Meanwhile, Lixue kept within the Kingdom.

"Queen!"

"Queen, queen!"

The maiden watching the young orphan children smiled at the sight of the Queen of Dracon, standing there like an elegant picture that's been untouched and perfected since made.

Even though the wedding and the sight of the queen wandering about in streets with a waddle of children or walking with the commander of the armies, Selin, she still couldn't stop feeling giddy round him whenever he came to visit the orphanage.

"M-My queen. What a pleasure it is to have you here with us again." She cutsy formally towards the queen himself. Lixue reached for her hand and smiled unfeignedly. "Please no need for the formality. We spoke about this haven't we?"

The maiden blinked her eyes and shyfuly smiled back, averting her eyes from such pure jewels.

"Yes I apologize. It's just I haven't gotten used to such visits from royals. I can see his Majesty loves the children dearly."

Lixue pulled his hands away and patted some of the children clinging to his legs and behind him, Orian hidden behind his leg just like the first time they met.

"I do love them. I mean how can I not?" He said, making the children giggle and squeal happily.

The maiden smiled affectionately as the kids hasn't looked so happy to have such company and privilege they were receiving with these visits.

"Alright children let's give his Majesty some space."

"No!"

"Stay stay."

"Queen come with us."

"Play queen!"

Lixue only chuckled helplessly at these kids pleds for them to not leave his side under any circumstances. The maiden, Dionne Rake, frowned at their pleds but her too couldn't find something to be mad at as they gave her puppy eyes.

"Ok fine. " She sighs, the excited cheers and claps of giggles went off. Dionne looked to the queen as he enjoyed the kids joy, smiling down at them like caring mother would. She smiled more. "My Queen I was just making some pastries for the children. Would you like some?"

"Oh, how kind. I will love some thank you."

Dionne cutesy again and showed the way for the Queen.

Lixue and the caregiver of the orphan children had a very nice conversation during the time the children had their sweet buns and cakes. Lixue even taken a taste of those pastries and wasn't going to lie that he had asked for another even though cinnamon wasn't a favorite.

Besides that, Dionne was a very kind woman for the children, caring for them during their time here. Even going to allow them to stay in the orphanage till their old enough to fend for themselves and they make that decision to leave on their own.

"That is very sweet of you to do that. Back in my homeland, the orphans a kicked to the streets at 17..I wanted to say something..but..at that time outside was only a fantasy." Lixue said sadly, averting eyes only to the cup in his palm.

Dionne placed hand to her chest and gasped at the very news. The Queen has never left his home. Sheltered and kept away from the world. It was a sad reality throughout most of Lixue's life as a hidden away Elvin prince, an omega at that.

"My condolences my queen. I wish you were able to help them or maybe you can still try. I mean the Elvin Emperor is your father and has no rules towards you anymore."

Lixue blinked and then that realization hit. He can still get his voice heard now. He knew who his husband was, everyone knew who was his husband. Of course they'll listen..Now that is.

Lixue nods his head at that idea, his mood lightened up and so did the smile on his face. "Yes yes your very right. Thank you Dionne."

Dionne became bashful at the praise, red kissing her pretty face. "Your welcome your Majesty."

Lixue bows his head and takes his sip of that tea. Their conversations moved on, passing the time on before the kids come flowing into the room once again.

During that, Lixue felt a bit hot. He didn't know if was the room but he was feeling rather odd. He swallowed mid sentence, waving his hand to create some wind and using some of his mist to cool himself down.

Dionne turned as she was replying to his Majesty's question only to find him breezing himself, looking a bit confused.

"My Queen are you ok?"

"Yes I'm very fine. Just a bit hot."

Dionne rose and eyebrow. "Hot? It's not so much hot your Majesty. Maybe lukewarm but not hot at all." She said coming to Lixue's side and placing a hand to his forehead. "Your a bit warm."

Lixue takes her hand. "I'm sure I'm fine. May I ask for water?"

"You don't have to ask. Orian can you get Queen Lixue a cold glass of water?"

The small boy had came in only to get some time alone with Queen Lixue but now he was rushing to get water as asked thinking his savior was not feeling alright.

Orian came rushing back, small children peeking their heads into the room to see what the matter was. There they saw their caregiver taking the water from Orian and giving it to Queen Lixue.

Lixue flashed a grateful smile before drinking some of the water.

Lixue's was feeling a bit better but the feeling still lingered. He have the cup back and thanked them for their help.

"I'm ok now. Thank you Dionne and you aswell Orian." Lixue petted the boy's head and the boy leaned into the touch, holdingt hat wrist with the hopes Lixue will never stop.

"My Queen."

Lixue looks to the door as Selin maneuver her large size out of the way of small children. She seemed to be in hurry.

"Commander Selin? What is it?"

"We have a..guest flying above head. It's King Hadeon. He has arrived."

Lixue's heart dropped. The other Dragon from the south region is here?? Like right now and flying no less.

A commotion and shouts of this massive creature shadowing over the orphanage building. Lixue was off his seat in seconds and heading out the doors.

Selin was infact right. A large dark forest green dragon flying above the Kingdom, circling round and causing more people to surround the streets.

Lixue knew from then that Valdemar wasn't here whish ment that he had to meet Hadeon alone. Something about that wasn't to his liking. Or the fact Valdemar was so far from him at the moment.

Lixue shakes that thought. He didn't need him right now. His husband is busy. He can take on another dragon King, it's going to be fine.

Lixue turned to the children, all watching at the display above. Orian kept his eyes on Lixue.

"Dionne, I sincerely apologize for leaving you so soon. You aswell children but as you can see I have to greet the guest." He gestured to the massive dragon above.

"Yes yes you go ahead. I have the children." She said, shooing them back as theyw aved off Lixue and said their saddened goodbyes.

Lixue gratefully thanked her more and then left, heading straight for the castle to which Hadeon headed off to next.

"Get him a robe before he lands! Selin where is he now or more what is he doing?"

"Flying above the castle."

Lixue's brows creased in confusion. "Why?"

Selin sighed expressionlessly. "He tends to do that to seem ontop. It's a way to piss off King Valdemar. Unfortunately for him he isn't here at the moment."

Lixue rubbed his temple at a sudden headache and pressed on to the court yard.

There were landing places for the dragon shifters, obviously the King's pad was larger than the rest depending on size of their shift.

Lixue made it there and saw Hadeon curling right above the court yard, watching down at Lixue who stood his ground and stared right up at him.

The Dragon King of the Southern side snuffed our smoke and bellowed, making his way down right after.

In two seconds a massive dragon disappeared with a lour roar and there landing on that pad was a naked Hadeon.

Lixue closed his eyes, Rou flinching at the sight for only Selin to block her view.

"King Hadeon."

"And you must be Queen Lixue?"

Lixue nods, refusing to open his eyes to this alpha male at the very moment.

"Interesting.."

"Selin please get him a robe."

Hadeon frowned at the lack of acknowledgment and frowned deeper after that order for a robe. "I need not no robe. This is normal for shifters. We don't do privacy."

"Yes well no shifters have privacy. I specifically don't want to see."

"Tsk. Nonsense! I bet King Valdemar shows off himself as soon as he shifts. Why must I be shown such disrespect?? I saved you idiots from a war after all."

Lixue frowned again. Right he remembered his husband saying that Hadeon was a prideful guy in both his handsome features and enlarged places.

But the only thing Lixue will say is enlarged is his head. Filled air and unnecessary commentary. Had he no respect that he was in another dragon's territory and lair with their wife and omega? Seriously had he no brain?

Selin came back with a fur robe to dress the dragon King some dignity that he seemed to not hold only for said Dragon King to neglect the offer.

"I like the wind on me thank you very much. But you -" He pointed to Lixue making Lixue open his eyes and keep a steady eye contact up into the eyes of toxic green eyes. Short and untamed dark colored hair. Like a darkened grey color.

Well defined cheek bones and broad body. He was big as all dragon shifters are apparently though he only met one in person.

"Me?"

"Yes you. How have you stayed so long with that grumpy man? How have you lasted till the marriage?" Hadeon leaned in, hands on his hips as he inspeacts this small elf, absolutely beautiful, small in size yet a large amount of fire and attitude.

"I still don't know. But I have no regrets for had happened."

"Of course you can't. Have you used your witching ethereal looks to get him taken?" He leaned in closer and Lixue backed up at his proximity.

"The Queen doesn't have to explain anything to you King Hadeon." Selin said, coming between the Dragon King and her King's wife.

Hadeon's face screwed up at the very sight of the werebeast but instead of going with the violence tactical route, he exclaims into the air.

"AH! Why must you be in everything?! I'm only asking him questions. After all I didn't have a chat on the day of his wedding anyways."

Selin folded her arms, Rou placing her hand to her forarm and patting it.

"I don't think King Valdemar will like your closeness to his wife."

"He can be grumpy all he wants. I have no interest in this omega anyways. And who are you maiden??"

Selin growled at his tone. "Her name is Rou King Hadeon. Don't forget where you are."

"And don't forget who your talking to, cat."

Selin hissed, her fangs growing out to be sharper than before. Hadeon glared harder seeing this as a challenge and ready to go with it and show her what a true dragon King's wrathe is like.

"Enough of that. Selin stand down."

Selin stopped baring her teeth and snuffed out. She turned to Lixue and bowed at a knee. "Apologies my Queen."

Lixue looks to Hadeon and smiled unkindly. "King Hadeon I don't take kindly to how your speaking to my people. It may be my first time being a queen but I care very deeply for others and hate how they are treated with such manner. This isn't your Kingdom. This is my husband's." Lixue said, his head lifting with a powerful and unfazed gaze.

Hadeon silenced in both surprise and amusement. To think an omega of his rank would have the balls to talk to him, the Dragon King of the Southern territory, like that. Like some simpleton.

"You have some balls little omega."

Lixue smiled once again. "I've learned if from someone."

"From who?"

"Hadeon!"

Lixue smiled more before he answered.

"My husband."

Hadeon's head turned when he heard that booming tone of voice of his name echo loudly throughout the castle grounds. Valdemar was here.

Hadeon turned around and faced the King as he walked in. Behind him was his counselor, and two guards who stood at the doors.

"King Valdemar. My old pal, how's it been. And if you ask I was just having a normal conversation with you omega-M-mphh!!" Valdemar placed his entire palm onto Hadeon's face, covering and shutting his talking to a muffle.

Lixue's expression before softened like nothing happened, Valdemar coming in and kissing his cheek. "Did he annoy you?"

"Don't worry about it now darling. I had it all under control." He reassured, placing a hand to his husband's cheek. Valdemar hums and look snack to Hadeon. "Flying above my castle and causing chaos on my streets and in my Kingdom. Have you any kind of respect anymore?"

Hadeon pulled away, folding his arms. "I was just watching your green process. It seems you've gotten more citizens and have begun rebuilding more room in this massive place."

Valdemar grumbled, rolling his eyes. "I'm glad your eyes work. Now since you've met my omega-"

"He isn't yet."

...

The court yard got quiet, even the life in the small court yard was silent. They too couldn't fathom what possessed Hadeon to come say that.

Valdemar's eyes gleamed a chilling ice of threatening red, slights became sharper and his eyes lips lifted open more.

"Excuse?"

Hadeon raised his finger. "Hold on. I don't mean anything by that. It just means that, Queen Lixue here is not mated to you. You haven't even marked him permanently."

"How can you tell that?" Lixue asked, leaning against Valdemar's back.

"I thought you didn't want to marry any omegas."

"Yes I don't. My personal preference is betas or another alpha gene, but that isn't the point- The point is that his highness here, is giving off a pheromone. A very suttle but enthralling scent.."

Valdemar looks to Lixue, him trying to smell himself but he was confused. Valdemar went in close and takes a few sniffs, there he placed his nose right where the scent will come from and his eyes snapped open. He stepped away.

"Valdemar?" Lixue placed his hand to his scent gland, confused on why Valdemar flinched away from him.

Hadeon nods, taking the robe from Selin and sliding it on. "Yes. That is what you think it is. Only those who aren't mated to will smell that.. specific pheromone.."

He said as everyone else could start to smell it due to the increasing amount of emotions going through the confused omega.

Rou was there, pulling Lixue back as his breathing picked up. "My prince calm down."

"I feel so hot..I just don't understand. Valdemar.." Lixue tried to reach out but Valdemar looked to Hadeon with a glare.

"Wasn't my fault. More just stating a fact. If it is alright, I will take my leave to the other wing of your castle and rest before I leave." Hadeon said, excusing himself to the opposite direction of where the King's chambers were far off from him. After all he didn't want to fight the Dragon King when those pheromones were bringing his mind into a silent fog.

Valdemar growled and turned to his beloved. He takes his hand and Lixue clung to him tightly.

"I feel so hot.."

"Have you felt this way before my treasure?"

Lixue nods his head, having Valdemar lift him up and carry him away. "I'm sorry I didn't know before. I had a feeling sooner or later their would have happened."

"I didn't expect.. it.." He panted his eyes fluttering close then open again trying to keep himself awake but proving unfortunate. Valdemar hums, keeping his me calm as he walked through the halls and straight to their room. "I have you, don't worry."

Lixue had already fell asleep before Valdemar even stepped into the room, the scent calming down and more bearable for Valdemar to take in more breath.

This was going to be something.

Was this the time where Valdemar will mate and permanently make Lixue into his actual omega? Or will he wait till the next cycle and keep his lover calm..?
