Chapter 2868: And It Would Always Hurt
Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder's Record of Counterattacks
Ning Shu rubbed her reddened hand and glanced at him expressionlessly.
Then, she looked at Ding Ningdie and turned to leave.
Ning Shu had withdrawn most of the energy from Ding Ningdieâs body, leaving just a trace behind. This small amount of energy wouldnât cause intense pain but would result in a dull, lingering ache.
And it would always hurt, especially on windy, rainy, cloudy, or muggy days.
While it could be tolerated, the persistent pain would be tormenting.
Ning Shu truly didnât want to withdraw the energy but feared Bai Hanmo might target Mother Ding.
Despite Mother Ding having fallen down the stairs as well, and Bai Hanmo promising to spare her, his principles vanish in the presence of his beloved. Besides, Bai Hanmoâs arrogance and self-will always drove his actions. Everything he did catered just to his and his loverâs desires.
Ning Shu sighed heavily. Dealing with powerful people was difficult.
And she had to do it in a way that couldnât be traced back to her.
After exiting the hospital, Ning Shu received a phone call from an unknown number.
A composed voice came from the phone, âIâm Lian Min. Where are you? Iâll come to you.â
Ning Shu simply raised her eyebrows, unsurprised. Calculating the time, the burn ointment she gave Lian Min should be depleted by now.
Ning Shu provided a caféâs address, and Lian Min hung up.
Ning Shu stared at the phone. This kid was sure haughty.
Ning Shu sensed Lian Minâs zeal.
Upon arriving at the café, Ning Shu noticed a striking luxury car parked by the entrance.
After finally finding parking, Ning Shu entered the café.
Ning Shu spotted Lian Min sitting by the window, sipping coffee.
She walked over and had a sip of water.
Lian Min gently placed the coffee cup without a sound, executing the action gracefully and culturedly.
âWhy did it take you so long?â Lian Min inquired.
âThere was some traffic. Whatâs up?â Ning Shu responded.
Lian Minâs expression softened. âDo you have more of the medicine you gave me?â
âHow has it been?â Ning Shu probed.
âIt seems effective but makes me itch.â
âThe itch signifies itâs working; itâs the cells activating,â Ning Shu explained. âComplete recovery is impossible, but it will improve significantly.â
âSo, do you have any left?â Lian Min leaned in, gazing at Ning Shu.
Ning Shu nodded. âYes.â
âGreat! Iâll pay for it,â Lian Min said.
Ning Shu waved dismissively, âItâs not interesting if you involve money.â She took out several jars from her bag.
âThis oneâs yours, and this is a gift for your mom. It regulates endocrine function and specifically relieves menopausal symptoms. Remember, it needs to be ingested for effect. Please help spread the word,â Ning Shu said in a flurry.
Lian Min accepted all the bottles and jars. âIf your products werenât effective, I wouldnât bother with you.â
Ning Shu chuckled, âCan I examine your wound to prescribe the appropriate treatment based on its severity?â
Upon seeing Lian Minâs displeased expression, Ning Shu added, âIf itâs inconvenient, donât worry about it.â
âLetâs go to the car,â Lian Min said.
Inside Lian Minâs car, she unbuttoned her clothes.
Ning Shu observed the burn extending from Lian Minâs chest to her stomach.
The skin was gnarled and unsmooth due to the scarring, bearing a pinkish hue.
The sight was daunting and somewhat unsettling.
Lian Min swiftly concealed the wound, buttoning her clothes.
