23. Culprit

"Roohi did. Did you hear?" A helper came running into my room as she sat in front of me. I was scanning all the social media sites for a trace of either Vanish or Rudram.

"No. What??"

"The landlord of Suman is beating her to death since she hasn't paid her rent. In the market, she said as I stood from my spot.

"Were? Which market? " I said as I took my purse and rushed out of the room to the gate.

"Didi we can't let you go." The guards at the gate said as I threaten them to let me leave but they were pretty determined.

"Let her go. " I heard Vimal bhaiya's voice behind me as I rushed out. Took a taxi as soon as I reached the main road and started going to her colony.

I kept yelling at the driver to move faster. And I reached there in ten minutes. Went towards the sleek alleys between shops I was pulled into one of the alleys and in revolt, I hit the face with my elbow and grabbed his head as I pushed them down the ground and the person fell.

Flabbergasted by the face.

"RAHUL!! " I screamed in the alleyway. "I will deal with you later I have to be somewhere. " I said as soon as I was about to run away hastily.

"I bribed the maid to tell you the lie," he said before I could disappear.

Rahul? It means Rudram.

"Where is Rudram?!! " I yelled as soon I turned to look at him. "WHERE THE HELL IS THAT FUCKING COWARD!" I shouted at him as he looked around the alley.

"Ask me if I know," he said flustered as I look at his face.

"Where you involved in everything. Were you part of this too?" I asked him to his face and he got confused. His face was hurt here and there as well his body was looking injured. It's been six months he should be fine by now. Why is he beaten like that??

"What are you talking about??"

"Him using me to take my company? " I asked him as he got more confused.

"I don't know what you are talking about. I was asked to take care of you and look after you 24/7 that's all I know."

"Then why are you here? And what's wrong with you?" I asked him as he looked at himself from up to down.

"Your brother's men beat me as soon as they see me. Last week. I have been trying to reach you anyhow. "

"Why?"

"Vanish," he said as I raised my eyebrows.

"What about Vanish?" I asked him immediately as he looked around again.

"He disappeared. He too was injured in the accident. But no one found him." he said instead of clicking what he was telling me. I clicked on what he was hiding.

"That means you found where is Rudram," I asked him as his face drained out of color.

"That is -"

"You know where he is, don't you?" I asked him as I took steps toward him and he was flushing more

"I am telling you about Vanish... "

"Exactly. Why are you struggling so much to tell me about Vanish? Not like he is my Husband. You came all the way here, get beaten like that just to me that Vanish disappeared?" I said to him as he was now lost for words.

"Strange." I took more steps towards him and was now right in front of him. "Rudram sent you. Didn't he? To divert me from him to Vanish. Because he already found out that I found out about his deeds." I said to him as he flinched back. "Rudram plotted everything along with you all. So that he can take my company away. How much did you get from it? How much did he give you?" I said as he kept backing, "Indeed shit looks good with shit. That's why you all suit so well together." I said to him as he backed more.

"I don't know what you are talking about? " he said refusing and backing.

"You don't? Don't know anything?" I said to him and I grabbed his hands as I twisted it and he fall to the ground. "You were not just a caretaker, were you? You were keeping tabs on me and telling every single detail about me to him. When I sleep, when I don't. When I pee when I don't! Everything were you!? Weren't you informing him of everything?" I asked him and he looked up at me.

"I was. I was telling you everything. From your eyes open in the morning till closing at night. Everything. But let me tell you. I'm not at your side neither at his. And also let me warn you something.

The one you think is the culprit. Isn't the one."
