Chapter 650
Trapped in Love
Chapter 650 Donât Blame Me âItâs a long story!â Caroline told Eira, âYou should head home first. Iâll go with Kenny.â
Eira replied. âSure, go quickly!â
Caroline purchased two boxes of milk, a few delicacies, and two bottles of liquor from the convenience store on the way to the graveyard. When they arrived, Caroline noticed a faint light seeping through the window gaps of a cottage.
Kenny carried Liora out of the car and shivered at the sight of the desolate environment and the rows of tombstones on the hill.
âWhereâs the old man, G?â Kenny looked around cautiously.
Caroline held the gifts and said, âCome with me.â
They walked to the cottageâs door, and Caroline called out. âBenjamin, are you home?â
Benjaminâs voice came from inside, âThe doorâs not locked, come in.â
Caroline opened the door with her shoulder and noticed Benjamin sitting alone at the dining table, though it was set for four.
The cottage was unusually cold despite the heater being on.
Caroline paused and said, âBenjamin, we wonât disturb you if you have guests.â
Caroline placed the gifts down, preparing to leave.
Benjamin replied, âItâs fine. Theyâre almost finished with their meal.â
Caroline couldnât help but feel goosebumps all over her body as she looked around the house in amazement.
Kenny also felt a chill run down his spine, thinking. âWhy is this old man talking nonsense in the middle of the night? This man is definitely untrustworthy!â
Kenny was about to persuade Caroline to leave when Liora suddenly screamed in his arms.
Caroline and Kenny were startled by Lioraâs sudden scream in the quiet atmosphere.
Benjamin glanced at them, then walked to a cabinet and opened a drawer. âBring the child Inside.â
Caroline looked at Kenny in a hurry. âKenny, place Lia on Benjaminâs bed.â
Kenny grimaced at the sight of the unclean bed but complied, putting Liora on it.
Benjamin took out a protective charm and a bottle of holy water, soaking the charm in the water.
Kennyâs eyes widened in shock. âG, what is this old man doing?â he asked.
Caroline shook her head. âI donât know. Letâs wait and see in silence.â
Benjamin placed the bowl on the head of the bed and took two puffs from a cigarette. Suddenly, his body shook twice.
Caroline and Kenny could clearly feel the change in Benjaminâs demeanor when he opened his eyes, which now looked fierce. He spoke in a sharp, stern voice to Liora. âCome and talk to me if you have grievances. What are you doing in a little girlâs body?â
Kenny looked at Benjamin as if he was foolish and said, âIs this some kind of sciâfi movie?â
But something happened that instantly shattered Kennyâs understanding of the world.
Lioraâs voice, entirely different from her usual self, spoke from the bed in a low, resentful growl.
âTalk! I donât have time to argue with you here!â Benjaminâs tone became more commanding. âLiora, what do you want?â
Lioraâs voice softened, seemingly intimidated by Benjaminâs authority. âI want flowers because no one has sent me any since Iâve been buried here for years!â
Benjamin asked, âWhat else do you want? Say it all at once!ââ
Liora requested, âClean my tombstone and trim the grass.â
Benjamin asked for her name, to which she replied, âChloe Wick.â
Benjamin turned to Caroline and asked, âDid you hear that?â
Caroline was bewildered by the sudden question but nodded in response.
Benjamin then addressed Liora, âShe has agreed to your requests. You may go back to where you came from. If you do this again, donât blame me for not being polite.â
âThank you!â Liora and Benjaminâs bodies shuddered.
Benjamin exhaled and picked up the bowl. âHelp the girl sit up.â
