Chapter 635 Together Paige and Alex stayed for a while before they departed.

Axel hadn’t been discharged from the hospital yet, even after coming out of protective isolation.

Caroline suggested staying back to keep him company.

Evan took on the responsibility of looking after Liora and Tyler.

After Evan left, Caroline met with Axel’s attending physician. “Dr. Webber, can we travel with the child?”

Richie replied, “He’s recovering quickly, so a trip should be fine. However, it would be best to have a doctor accompany you.”

Caroline was relieved and asked, “Will he be discharged tomorrow?”

Richie said, “It would be nice to have him home for Lundi Gras. After all, he’s been in protective isolation all by himself for a month.”

Caroline replied with gratitude, “Thank you.”

When Caroline returned to the room, she found Axel already asleep. She gently caressed his face, and he slowly opened his eyes as if he sensed it.

Caroline stopped her movement and said, “I’m sorry for waking you, Axel.”

Axel shook his head and replied, “It’s okay, Mommy.”

Caroline asked, “Are you hungry? Shall I get you something to eat?”

“I’m not hungry. I have a question for you, Mommy,” Axel cautiously said.

Caroline smiled and asked, “What is it, my dear?”

“Mommy, will you and Daddy reconcile?” Axel asked.

Caroline was taken aback. “Why do you ask?”

Axel explained, “I didn’t see you two arguing today. A lot has happened in the past month, hasn’t it?”

Caroline pulled back her hand, sat down, and gently pulled Axel into her arms. “My dear, a lot has indeed happened recently. However, it’s a complex situation. I can’t give you a definite answer about the future between your father and me, but I can tell you this. If we can overcome our differences, we’ll be together.”

She would carefully consider her decision for the sake of her children now that Daniella’s situation had been resolved.

Axel leaned against Caroline with his eyes closed. “I’ll respect your decision, Mommy.”

Caroline kissed the top of Axel’s head. “And I’ll work hard for you.”

“I will work hard to convince myself to accept Evan again,‘ she thought.

At 10:00 p.m., Caroline put Axel to bed and prepared to lie down on the other bed. Just as she was about to get into bed, Evan entered.

She looked at him in surprise and whispered, “Why are you back? Where are the children?”

“They’re at Bayview Villa with Eira,” Evan replied.

Caroline said, “You sent them back to Bayview Villa?”

Evan nodded and sat down. “You should be more at ease knowing they’re with your nanny rather than my service staff.”

Caroline lowered her gaze, not sure what to say. After all, Evan was telling the truth. She would have been.

Caroline asked, “Will you be leaving again later?”

Caroline replied, “It’s probably crowded at my house tomorrow night. If you don’t mind-”

Evan raised an eyebrow. “Do you think I’d mind your family members? Or do you not want Axel and me to be there?”
