Chapter 596
Trapped in Love
Chapter 596 Expelled Twenty minutes later, at Merlinâs disciplinary office.
Evan heard Lioraâs sobs as he approached the entrance.
âWhy are you blaming me? He started calling me names first! I have a father!â Liora defended herself.
âYou started a fight at such a young age, just like a troublemaker without a father! You even hurt my son. I wonât rest until youâre expelled from school today!â Augustâs mother accused.
Evan frowned upon hearing this exchange and entered the office, his tone cold as he declared, âIâd like to know whoâs trying to get my daughter expelled from schoolâ
The disciplinary office staff tumed their heads simultaneously, shocked by his presence.
Liora rushed to Evan, crying, âDaddy! Iâm not fatherless!â
âYouâre still lying! Donât try to claim someone as your father!â August retorted with a stuffy nose.
Evan exuded a commanding presence, making Augustâs mother quickly cover his mouth. She trembled as she stood and stammered, âMr⦠Mr. Jordan, I⦠I didnât know she was your child.â
Evan scoffed. âYour son doesnât belong at Merlin with your vulgar upbringing.â
Terrified, the woman, Ursula Goop, apologized, Iâm sorry, Mr. Jordan! Please spare us!â
Ignoring her, Evan turned to Liora, whose eyes were swollen from crying. He gently lifted her and comforted her, âDonât be scared. Iâm here.â
Liora clung to Evan, sobbing. âI have a daddy. Iâm not unwanted.â
Evan tenderly stroked Lioraâs back and replied, âYes, I know.â
It was a rare moment when Liora acknowledged him as her father, and Evan couldnât help but feel a touch of bitterness in his heart.
Turning his attention back to the arrogant mother and son, Evan asked, âGoop?â
Ursula swallowed nervously. âItâs our fault for starting the fight, Mr. Jordan. Iâll discipline my son!â
Evan raised an eyebrow. âAnd how do you plan to discipline him?â
Ursula gnashed her teeth and slapped August hard on the face, commanding, âGo apologize to Liora!â
August looked at Ursula with teary eyes. âMommyââ
âGo and apologizelâ Ursula insisted.
August pouted and burst into tears. âI didnât say anything wrong. Mommy. Besides, she hit me Before August could finish his sentence, Ursula covered his mouth and threatened him with a fierce expression, âIâll punish you severely later if you say more!â
Despite her sympathy for her son, Ursula had to bear with it, knowing that Liora was actually Evanâs daughter.
Ursula said, âMr. Jordan, Iâve disciplined my child. Please donât have us expelled from the school.â
Evan remained silent but turned his gaze to the head of the disciplinary office, who lacked the courage to speak up.
Evan asked coldly. âWhat do you believe is the appropriate course of action?â
The disciplinary head hesitated and finally replied. âThe child should receive a disciplinary record, but expulsion might be too severe.â
Evan probed further, âIs this considered a mild punishment? What about a more severe one?â
The disciplinary head was at a loss, as the punishment he mentioned was already quite severe. If a student received two disciplinary records, no other school would accept them.
The deputy head of disciplinary nudged him and then told Evan, âThe child will be expelled because Merlin doesnât tolerate students lacking basic manners like him.â
