DARYA P.O.V
My heart was pounding erratically while Quillon kissed me. His tongue probed deeper into my mouth and I let out a moan of pure ecstasy.
We pulled away and I tried to breathe normally, with my eyes close shut. While I was gasping as much air as possible to my lungs, I felt Quillon's powerful frame, tense against me.
Slowly, I opened my eyes and my lips parted on it's own accord when I saw that his eyes were dark. Like a blackest night! For a second, I thought it was because of the kiss, but as I sensed the rigidity in his every muscle I realized something else was the reason. Wondering what it was, I called him.
"Quil-" I was silenced while he placed his index finger on my lips.
"Shhsssh" he said ominously and I furrowed my brows. "Can you sense it?" his voice was a whisper, but there was some dangerous edge in his voice that had my wolf quiver.
Quillon looked calm, but it was dangerously calm. It warned me that something was not right. As a reply for his question, I shook my head and he slowly said, "Fear."
"Fear" I parroted with a gulp. His black eyes were fixed on me and that made me extremely nervous.
"Theirs" he said pointing his finger to the sky. Seriously not comprehending what he was saying, I slowly looked up. My eyes rounded in disbelief when I saw hundreds of birds flying away. Flapping their wings, the birds flew as swiftly as they could.
They say... birds are the first creatures that can sense danger.
I blinked and looked at Quillon. But he was staring at space, with those very same dark eyes. There was this ghastly silence around us. It was like everything turned deathly quiet once the birds flew away. The air has turned cold and my throat suddenly felt dry.
My wolf stiffened at that precise moment and a shiver ran down the length of my marrow. Goosebumps appeared all over my body and I could hear blood rushing to my ears in a roar.
"He is coming" Quillon said in a low scary voice.
"Who?" My voice was so low that even I was not sure if I spoke that word.
"Konrad" Quillon's smirk was as cold as a hungry polar bear.
I suspected him, but hearing Quillon confirm, had the color drain from my face. I felt like someone was squeezing my heart with as much pressure as possible so that I could just die with that pain.
All this time I was trying to keep Quillon and Konrad away from each other, but I didn't know what to do now.
Konrad was here in Serene and my wolf could sense it too because her ears were erect and her hackles rose aggressively. She was ready for a fight but I didn't know how to keep Quillon safe from Konrad. I knew for sure that if Konrad sees him, then he will try to hypnotize him, use him against me, well-aware of the truth that I would not be able to hurt my own mate.
"Take her away" Quillon's voice was harsh and I felt like someone poured a bucket of ice-cold water over me.
"I am not going anywhere" I snapped frowning at Quillon and completely surprised to see Quinn with us. When did he come?
"Do not argue with me on this" Quillon was glaring at me, but I shook my head and decided to tell him why exactly Konrad is here.
"He is not here for you. He is here for me" I told him staring at his black eyes.
"But you are wrong Darya." I inhaled sharply and so did Quinn when I heard Konrad's familiar voice.
My wolf crouched down and humped her back, ready to leap and attack at any moment. Slowly, I looked at Konrad, who was not alone. Cable was also with him. I mustered as much hate in me as possible while I gave him a death glare.
"I am here for Quillon Sanders" Konrad added smoothly with a smirk of his own watching Quillon, who in turn had his side to Konrad, while he was watching me.
My wolf snapped her jaws in furious condemnation. Konrad isn't worthy of even saying Quillon's name. But he is has come here to attack Quillon, while he is with me.
I clenched my fist tightly and growled in warning.
I was furious at Konrad. Attacking me alone- I don't mind. But if he touches a single hair in Quillon's body, then today will be his last day on earth.
Konrad's mint green eyes were fixed on Quillon and the moment Quillon turned to look at him, he narrowed his eyes.
"Leave him-"
"Shushhh... wait" Konrad cut me off, raising a hand to silence me. "Let me look at him" Konrad said without taking his eyes of Quillon.
Quillon merely cocked an amused brow.
For a whole minute, Konrad stared at him and then finally began talking, "Cable here tells me there is nothing special about you. But I know there is something different about you from the rest. That is why, only you are her mate. So, who are you Quillon Sanders?"
"I think you want to know what I am more than who I am" Quillon answered and Konrad nodded with a grin.
"I am your death" Quillon answered and this time Konrad cocked an eyebrow. I tensed and turned to look at Quillon, wondering why he was baiting the monster. But when I saw the calm stance of Quillon, I was perplexed. There was nervousness in the air around us and it was radiating from me, Quinn and Cable, but Quillon... he was as cool as a cucumber, just like Konrad.
"Really?" Konrad asked and Quillon merely closed and opened his eyes- a gesture confirming yes.
"You are confident. I like it" Konrad said smugly and I flinched. "But you don't know who you are talking to"
"Oh! I could say the same" Quillon said in the same tone.
Konrad chuckled, "You don't give much away do you?" he asked and Quillon shook his head as a reply.
"Why are you here? In my land" Quillon demanded. "Is it just the two of you or are there more?"
"They will join us soon" Konrad replied and I gasped in disbelief. He has brought wolves with him?
"Okaaay, that's my cue" Quinn said abruptly and every head turned to look at him. "I am going to make sure no one from pack comes this far" he said and I furrowed my brows.
"Don't worry Darya" Quinn told me when he saw me. "Even a hundred Alphas' are no match for Quillon, then what can this mere creature do" Quinn scoffed at Konrad, startling me.
"Mere?" Konrad hissed, his eyes turned darker and the monster that he bottles up itched to come forward. "Whom did you just call mere?"
"You" Quinn replied looking at Konrad in the eye. "Hypnotism, Invisibility, Illusion. But that's just not it, isn't it? There is more" Quinn listed down Konrad's powers and I compressed my lips. "Anyway, I am not interested in probing on that now. I have a pack to keep safe" with that said, Quinn took his leave.
"I told you, the younger one is a spineless punk" Cable sneered from behind Konrad.
"Attacking woman for a living? It shows who exactly is spineless" Quillon said in disgust glaring at Cable, who clenched his jaws. "Your father should have slept alone that night. You are born for no use" Quillon ridiculed him through gritted teeth and I gaped at Quillon.
Oh my...., he just made the worst insult ever, but Cable deserved nothing less.
"Why you...?" Cable began walking ahead but Konrad placed a hand on Cable's chest and shook his head.
"Cross the line again, then I am going to break every single bone in your body" Quillon warned Cable in a menacing way. His voice had this severe edge that could have scared any wolf.
I have never seen Quillon like this. So cold, so unflinching... It was scary.
His eyes then flickered to Konrad and stayed there, "Darya is mine. My mate" There was a considerable amount of stress in Quillon's voice and words as he spoke. "What's mine, stays mine and if anyone tries to take her away from me, then they will not live to tell the story" he spoke every single word grinding his teeth, without removing his gaze from Konrad's dark ones.
My wolf raised her head haughtily after hearing her mate's words. At that moment, she felt incredibly proud and happy to be Quillon's mate.
"Let's see how well you can guard her" Konrad smirked and at that very moment many figures appeared from between the trees. There were thirty to forty. All rogues. None hypnotized though. "They want the money you put on your own head" Konrad added with a shrug.
My wolf snarled and crouched down ready to attack. Unclenching my fists, I brought out my sharp claws. I glowered at Konrad, who was lazily leaning against a tree and watching Quillon. His lips were tilted upwards and his eyes were only fixed on Quillon. I hated watching that. My body started shaking in anger and soon the clouds turned dark.
Konrad laughed when he saw that, "I always like the setting you create Darya. Can you give some background music too?" he asked and I knew he was referring to lightning and thunder.
When I did not answer, Konrad just sighed. "Boys, you know what to do" he said casually.
"So you have come here to take my mate?" Quillon asked looking at the wolves, who had surrounded us in the clearing. He cracked his knuckles, looking at every single wolf in the eye. They were more than thirty rogues and I found some of their eyes travelling all over my body. It made my wolf see red.
While I was glaring at one rogue, Quillon caught my wrist and dragging me, he roughly let go of my hand, almost pushing me. I stumbled on my feet, but somehow managed to stand straight. When I looked up, I grasped that I was exactly in the middle of the circle formed by Konrad's team of rogues.
Spinning, I frowned at Quillon wondering why he did so. However, he was not looking at me. His pitch black eyes were focused on the rogues. I was standing in the center, Quillon a little away from me and the rogues in a circle around us. Konrad and Cable were watching us from outside the circle.
Extending, a lean hand, Quillon said in an intimidating voice, one and only one word-"Try"
A brave guy attempted first. Growling, he rushed towards me. I unclenched my fists and was all set to kill him. There was a blur of movement and the next thing I see, is the rogue down on the ground.
Gasping audibly, I took a step back and so did the others when they saw that the skin of the guy from his neck to his stomach was torn and his internal organs were in display.
"Feed on this, cannibal" Quillon snarled in an animalistic manner, throwing the guy's heart near Konrad's feet.
With horror, I watched Quillon who was trembling in rage. His claws were dipping blood- the dead guy's blood. Tilting his head sideward, he smirked at the rogues, who too were watching him in equally horrified look.
"Who's next?" he demanded.
Three guys attacked at once and once again Quillon moved with inhumane speed. I could see his movements, he was not just hitting the rogues, but he was also tearing their skin. But he was doing it so fast that I couldn't catch on anything particular until the rogues fell on the ground- dead, with their flesh in view.
No one could cross him and reach me. Two, three, four more came but they all ended up dead with their organs thrown apart.
I kill wolves too but I am not this barbaric when I kill them. Quillon was simply dangerous and as I watched him, I realized that he was the most powerful wolf I have ever seen. His speed was incredibly fast, his strength supreme.
Even I was left to wonder, what exactly is Quillon Sanders? How is he so strong that no wolves are a match to him?
My hair flayed and covered my eyes as he ran past me with extraordinary speed. I blinked and watched Quillon, who actually broke ribcage bones of a rogue.
Quillon was everywhere. In front of me, behind me, right next to me, killing wolves. But he was so fast that I could only see his target dead on the ground.
Slowly, my eyes drifted towards Konrad, who was no longer leaning against the tree and grinning. He was standing ramrod straight and watching Quillon with furrowed brows. His eyes were following Quillon's every move. Even though Quillon moved here and there, Konrad's eyes never wavered from him.
I am sure; Konrad did not expect Quillon to be this strong.
"That is it?" Quillon demanded from Konrad wiping blood on his cheek, with his arm.
There were still around fifteen wolves left but they were too scared to approach Quillon. Some attempted to run, but Cable would stop them.
Konrad's eyes turned black and flickered to one guy. It stayed there for nearly five seconds and I knew he was hypnotizing the guy. The rogue bobbed his head and then rushed towards us.
Quillon moved faster than me and tore the rogue's limbs apart. Another rogue-hypnotized of course- came forward, Quillon decapitated him.
Konrad had to hypnotize the remaining rogues into attacking Quillon because they were all about to run away. He put them under his spell and sent them to attack Quillon. One after the other they came and one after the other they fell on the ground- dead.
It was heinous to watch.
I couldn't harm any of the rogues and they couldn't harm me either. Quillon killed every single one of them, before they could come closer to me. In the end they were all on the ground, with their bodies torn apart. The green grasses of the forest were covered in blood. Mutilated bodies of the rogues lain on the ground. The air reeked of blood and there was this appalling silence around us that lingered for some time.
As the last one dropped on the ground, with his intestines pulled out, Quillon stopped and slowly shook his hand, letting the red blood dip. He raised his dark lashes and met Konrad's gaze. Without dropping his gaze, he walked ahead and stood before me.
I was at a loss of words. My heart hammered in my chest and I looked at Quillon, who was still trembling in fury. His whole body was stiff and he was growling murderously at Konrad, who was watching him peculiarly.
I bet Konrad did not expect this.
Just like me Konrad had thought even though Quillon was strong, he was nowhere as close to me, with my gifts.
But now the game has changed. It's like nature has turned the tables on both of us. A new player has entered the game and this one, powerful just like us or maybe even more! Neither I nor Konrad thought this would have happened.
"Is that all you have got?" Quillon asked Konrad, his voice cruel, yet sardonic. "I expected more" Quillon taunted and I gulped. More? This was more than enough!
The rogues here had come by their own choice and that made me angry. These rogues who died here, today, were not guiltless. Why? They had come here to kill us just for the money. I would have killed them if they had attacked Quillon or me, but I wouldn't have been so odious about it. But then again, Quillon had given a quick death to them, while I would have made them suffer.
I honestly don't know who amongst us is worst. Is it Quillon, me or Konrad?
"You bring fifty, hundreds or even thousands more, THIS is how they will end up" Quillon roared pointing at the dead bodies. My wolf cowered when she heard it. Honestly, if Quillon had made that threat towards me, I would have silently kept my distance.
"It seems like I have underestimated you" Konrad said with a smirk and I tightened my fist. His smirk... whenever he is smirking, it only means that he is one step ahead of us.
"You have no idea up to what level" Quillon sneered and Konrad eyes turned into slits.
"Here is what you are going to do now, bloodsucker" Konrad bared his fangs as Quillon said that. "You are going to Stay. Away. From Darya" Quillon spelled out in lethal tone, glaring at Konrad. In his black eyes, I could see the hatred he had for Konrad. "You hunt her, I hunt you." His voice and his gaze were spitting knives.
"If you want to save this worthless life of yours; then go back the way you came" Quillon scoffed and gestured the same using his hands. "And if once again you indulge in any cannibalistic behavior of yours, then I am going to tear you apart until there is nothing left" Quillon added grinding his even teeth together.
"Your arrogance is commendable. But remember, you are now standing against Konrad. I can kill you right here, right now" Konrad hissed and I snarled at him. My wolf snapped her jaws, furious to hear it.
"Then you too remember whatI can do to you Konrad" I snarled vehemently standing right beside Quillon.
"How will you be able to protect him, when you cannot even protect yourself" Konrad jeered as I glared at him. My body was trembling in uncontrollable rage and soon there was a flash of lightning in the sky. As the boisterous rumble of the thunder followed it, I forced the lightning bolt to strike the tree closest to Konrad.
As the tree got hit, everyone jumped back. Quillon pulled me with him and we fell on the ground on our sides. Strips of wood and bark got peeled off by the force of the current. However, I did not let the fire burn the tree. Instead, after getting hit, there were Lichtenberg figures on the ground around the tree.
"Q" I heard Quinn's loud voice and as I looked, I realized that Nevin, Harvey, Clay and many others were there along with him.
Shit!
Why did they come here?
"Are you alright?" Quinn asked his eyes focused on us. I suppose they had come here to see if we were okay after the lightning strike.
Compressing my lips, I stood up and Quillon did too, but his eyes were focused on me. He figured out that my gift was the element sky, not just manipulating electricity. There were many questions he wanted to ask, I could see it in his eyes. Given that we did not have time to discuss that, we both turned to look at Konrad and Cable, who got back on their feet.
Quillon clenched his fists and looked hard at Konrad, who smirked victoriously when he saw the pack wolves.
"Fifty, hundreds and thousands will end up dead. That's what you said, isn't it?" Konrad asked grinning at Quillon. "Would you even kill your friends for her?" Konrad demanded and I paled, while Quillon let out a ferocious growl.
I knew it!
I knew he would hypnotize them.
"No" I whispered but Konrad's eyes had already turned dark and it was focused on Nevin, who was standing behind me.
"Kill her" Konrad said to Nevin, once he was captivated. Nevin nodded and marched towards me. I decided to tie him up using the branches of the tree. While I was manipulating the branch, Quillon swiftly moved towards Nevin and caught Nevin's shoulder and the next second he dropped down.
"No" I screamed afraid that Quillon would hurt his best-friend, but Quillon didn't. Instead, something odd happened.
Nevin fell on the ground, unconscious. If it weren't for the light sounds of his breathing, then I would have thought Nevin was dead.
But what exactly did Quillon do? How did Quillon knock Nevin out like that, without even hurting him?
Before this whenever Konrad would hypnotize someone, we had to fight a lot with the person before finally knocking them out.
Clay got hypnotized and he too joined Nevin on the ground. Harvey and the others had similar fate. Not dead, just down for the count. It happened within a minute. All Quillon's friends were safe and I was hugely relieved of that fact.
Quinn was the only one left amongst the group and before Konrad could hypnotize him, he focused his gaze on Quillon and smiled. After one quick movement, Quillon was standing right in front of Quinton, slightly hugging him with his one arm around Quinn's neck. The next thing I see, he was gently laying his unconscious brother on the ground.
What the fuck just happened?
What did Quillon do? Does he also do some weird mind control thingy?
"What the fuck?" it was Cable's voice. "How can he-?" he broke off startled.
My eyes were fixed on Quillon who had his back to me. What did he do to them? They were all alive, because they were breathing, yet they looked lifeless? Like comatose!
Twisting his neck a few times, so that the nerves in his neck would pop, Quillon spun and faced Konrad, who looked pissed off. Not only were his eyes the color of sky on a new moon night, but his jaws were clenched and rage was searing from him.
He bared his fangs and shot a piercing look to my mate. My wolf bristled when she saw that. However, she was also very happy that Konrad couldn't do much damage to Quillon and his friends so far.
"Is that all?" Quillon goaded the monster. "Who else will you try that cheap trick on?" Quillon raised a brow in unconcealed amusement and I blenched.
For that insult, Konrad cruelly snapped his jaws.
Then his eyes rounded and slowly they turned darker than they already were. He fixed his gaze on Quillon, who was standing a few meters behind me.
I inhaled sharply as I realized what Konrad was about to do. No. Not my mate!
"Don't look at him" I yelled and rushed towards Quillon. With all my might, I pushed Quillon hard on the chest. He fell on the ground with a thud and after losing balance, I too fell over him. Quickly rolling on my side, I sat up and looked at Quillon.
I heaved a sigh, when I saw that his eyes were the normal brown one. Thank-God! I was able to push Quillon down before Konrad could hypnotize him.
"You are safe" I whispered while Quillon sat up.
Together, we stood up and then, I turned my head to look at Konrad. I am going to kill him. How dare he try that stunt on my mate?
At the very moment, I felt heat erupting from my heart. Once, it enveloped my heart, it started spreading around.
Gritting my teeth, I curled my lips and glared at Konrad... who looked like he got kicked in the teeth. His wide eyes were back to their mint green color, his face as white as milk after losing every color.
What is wrong with him now?
My wolf slowly retreated and the heat that was disseminating around my body, ceased before slowly subsiding.
Konrad's eyes scanned Quillon's powerful frame, behind me, almost twice before he shook his head. A frown line divided his brows as his eyes skimmed over Quillon once again. Slowly, he took a step back and I furrowed my brows, in bewilderment, wondering what happened to him all of a sudden.
When Konrad came here, he looked ready to kill and now he was retreating.
"Konrad" Cable too called him bemused, while he took few more steps backward. "Let's kill them" Cable snarled.
Konrad once again placed a hand on Cable's chest and shook his head, "Not today" he whispered harshly.
"Like I said before-" Quillon began striding towards me as Konrad looked at him, "-you have no idea up to what level" Quillon smirked once again that cold polar bear smirk.
You have no idea up to what level you underestimated me- that's what Quillon meant.
"Now, Go. Back. The way you came" Quillon hissed.
Konrad growled and curled his lips in anger. His eyes lingered on Quillon for a long, long time before he finally turned and left along with Cable.
I let out a breath only after my wolf sat down. If she was calm, it meant Konrad was indeed gone and not lurking around. Closing my eyes, I took deep breaths to calm my rapidly beating heart. Surprisingly, it worked quickly because my wolf had already retreated.
As I opened my eyes, I looked at the ground covered with corpses of dead wolves. I was standing in between them. My vision got blurry and I sniffed audibly.
"What the hell just happened?" it was Nevin's voice.
I wiped my tears and turned to look at Quillon, who was in the act of waking up Harvey. He pierced Harvey's neck with his claws and Harvey jolted up. Quinn, who too had woken up, helped Clay and Ram wake up.
"He hypnotized you all, I knocked you out" Quillon replied. But how did he do that?
"We fought against you?" Ram asked shocked.
"No. I was able to take you down before that" Quillon smiled.
"How?" Clay asked the same thing that was going on my head.
"Like this" Quillon said and pressed a nerve on Clay's neck. He collapsed on the ground and I watched him with my jaw dropped down. "Wake him up" Quillon said while others chuckled.
Oh! That is how he was able to do that? I thought he controlled their minds. But this looked easy and I must learn the trick!
I moved towards them making sure not to step on any dead bodies and blenched whenever I saw any internal organs of our anatomy.
"Holy Shit Quillon! This is worse than the last time" Nevin grimaced as he saw the bodies.
"Last time, they came to take my land. This time they came to take my mate" Quillon growled and I gulped.
"How many were there?" Harvey asked.
"Thirty to thirty five" Quillon replied.
"Hypnotized?"
"No. That's why they had to die" Quillon growled.
"Are you okay Darya?" Quinn asked me and I nodded. "You don't look fine" he said his eyes travelling on my clothes. I looked down and inhaled sharply when I saw that my top had blood stains in it. Quillon was wearing a dark green t-shirt and that too was soaked in blood.
"I am fine" I said quietly and faked a smile. My gaze collided with Quillon and he stared at me for a long time. I looked away, unable to hold his gaze any further.
"So that is Konrad" Nevin breathed out after sometime. "Damn! He hypnotized me and I did not even realize it" he said with a frown.
"Did you fight against him?" Clay probed while I inspected my platinum bracelet to see if there is any blood in it. Thankfully, there wasn't.
"No. He just had his minions fight against me" Quillon grumbled.
They kept asking questions and Quillon would answer them, but I was quiet lost in my own thoughts.
"Q" we all stopped in our tracks when we saw Grace, Scott and few other wolves. Leah and her group were also there. "Oh My God" Grace whispered and then running she came to hug him.
"Mom, I am fine" Quillon said while she began sobbing.
"I was so scared" Grace whispered. "Did he hurt you?" she asked cupping his cheeks.
"He did not even fight against me" Quillon replied while Grace pulled away.
"Darya" Grace said and then hugged me. "Are you okay darling?"
"Yes, I am good. He couldn't hurt me" I said with a smile to calm her down, because her cheeks were damp with tears.
"What did he want?" Scott demanded with a frown.
"He brought some wolves to kill Darya" Quinn replied.
"So, he came for her?" A man, who was standing next to Scott asked nodding his head at me. He was in his mid-forties and had dark brown hair. I had not seen him before in the pack and I did not know who he was. "See, I told you all the problems in the pack are because of her. She is bad luck" the man hissed glaring at me and I blinked, shocked to see that much hate directed towards me. Grace, Quinn and some of Quillon's friends growled after hearing his words. But the most dangerous growl was of course from Quillon.
"Careful Maxwell" Quillon said threateningly from beside me. So, this was Maxwell- Leah's father. No wonder he hates me. "If you say another bad word against my mate, it might be the last one you utter."
Maxwell compressed his lips and looked away.
"And Konrad was not here for her. He was here for me" Quillon added.
"For you?" Scott asked with wide eyes. He had turned pale and I wondered why.
"Dad, can we discuss this later? I want to take a shower" Quillon said and flushing, Scott nodded.
"Yes. We will be home at six" Grace told Quillon.
I don't know why but my eyes flickered to Leah and I wasn't surprised when I found her glaring at me. Her hands were clenched to form fists and her lips curled in distaste. The mark...
Shaking my head, I looked away and went with Quillon and Quinn to our house.
I had a refreshing shower and afterwards, I changed into a blue knee-length shorts and pullovers. Quillon had gone to shower downstairs and I knew it would take him a long, long time to clean up.
My head was hurting very badly and so I took a tablet hoping it would help. Stretching my legs and placing it on the coffee table, I leaned back against the couch and closed my eyes.
I couldn't help but recall how Quillon had killed all the rogues' singlehandedly. I am really amazed as to how he is so powerful, be it in fighting, in speed or in commanding. At first I thought, he did some mind control thing on his friends, later I realized he did it just by pressing a nerve in their neck. Even while fighting with those rogues, I would have used all my gifts. But Quillon has no such gifts yet he killed them all. No weapon, no mind control thing, nothing... just his mind-boggling speed, his powerful punch and his razor-sharp claws.
Images of the way Konrad used to stare at Quillon popped in my head and my eyes fluttered open. Sweat coated the corner of my head as I recalled the last look he gave to Quillon. He is not going to stop. He will come after Quillon. I just knew it.
Until today, only I was his target, but from now on he would try killing Quillon too. Quillon was incredibly strong... stronger than me when it came to physical fighting.
Hell! Quillon is the strongest!
But Konrad doesn't always indulge in physical fighting. He had bombed my car twice, had electrocuted me too... I had survived those. But what about Quillon?
My eyes flooded with tears and I closed my eyes, letting it drop down to my cheeks. My heart was hammering in my chest and I slowly rubbed my forehead.
Sitting here alone was bringing disturbing thoughts in my head, so I decided to call my brother.
"Not one wolf could reach you?" Duncan asked after I narrated the whole incident.
"No"
"He is really good then. I am glad he is there to protect you even when we aren't" Duncan said and I tensed. He is there to protect me, but who is there to protect him?
"Why did Konrad leave again?"
"I honestly don't know. He just left. He tried to hypnotize Quillon but he couldn't after I pushed Quillon away. I don't know what happened next, he just left" I was still confused about it.
What prompted Konrad to depart so abruptly?
"It's okay. I am just glad you are safe" Duncan sighed. "So, are you going to tell him about your gifts?" I heard footsteps coming and I tensed.
"Duncan Quillon's coming up. I will call you later, alright?" I said and then quickly hung up.
Quillon entered the room right then- shirtless and I openly gawked at him.
"What were you doing?" he asked going to the walk-in-closet.
"I was talking to Duncan" I replied cupping my warm cheeks. "Your parents are here?" I asked while he pulled a maroon collared t-shirt down his head.
"No. Change of plans. We are going to our parents place" he said walking towards the door. But before going out, he stopped and looked at me, "You are the fifth child right?" he asked and I raised my lashes.
"Remy, Tito, Orion, Austin... I thought the last child whom no one had heard about was also a boy" Quillon continued and I shook my head. The last child was me. But I was surprised he knew about the others.
"So Austin was earth?" Quillon asked looking me in the eye. He didn't know Austin's gift? But then again, Austin was killed just three days after receiving his gift, so no one knew about his gift much.
At the time I was just so scared that without thinking I nodded as a reply to Quillon's question.
"You are..."
"Sky" I breathed out.
"Lightning and thunder?"
"Yes"
"So how many times did Konrad try to kill you?" he asked with a feral growl.
Swallowing audibly, I answered, "I lost count"
Quillon's eyes turned a shade darker and I gulped. "He is going to die next time" Quillon proclaimed grinding his even teeth together.
Physically Quillon is stronger than Konrad, there is no doubt in it. But what will Quillon do if Konrad hypnotizes him?
My wolf whimpered softly and I bit my bottom lip so that I could not let out the sob that was caught in my throat. How to stop Konrad? How to protect Quillon? I have to tell Quillon about my gifts.... I have to tell him what exactly I can do.
"Darya" Quillon called and jumping in my seat, I looked up. "They are waiting for us. Let's go"
Okay! I will tell him once this meeting is over.
