While Yi Zhen was trying to reprimand his younger son, calm his daughter, and coax his wife, Yi Chen was getting examined. This process would be less annoying if it weren’t for these two touching each other and calling baby this baby that in front of him.

His eyes almost went blind watching them. He just wanted to walk out and go look for his wife leaving these two to themselves.

“So how was it? The republic, how was it? Was it like the federation? I have always been curious,” asked Yi Feng only for doctor Keit to stop him.

“Baby, do you mind? I am working. If you are good I can do for you that thing that you like,” said doctor Kiet and Yi Feng shut his mouth real quick.

Oh, how he wished Zi Han was here. Maybe then he would feel less violated by these two’s public display of affection.

Just as this thought crossed his mind the medical bay door slid open and his father entered while handing him the light brain.

“Here, it’s your mother and siblings,” said Yi Zhen before stepping aside. An overwhelmed Yi Chen was met with three enlarged faces of his family with the little girl crying like it was the end of the world. He stiffly raised his hand and waved at them resulting in an awkward silence.

It was Ming Ming who couldn’t take it anymore.

“Wuwuwu dage is broken. Someone broke my dage,” she cried with her finger in her mouth.

Yi Chen, “...”

He hadn’t even opened his mouth and said anything yet the little girl was already distraught. What he didn’t realise was that that wave had already sold him out confirming that something was wrong. What wave? He should have been asking Ming Ming why she was making a fuss then Lin Ruoxi would scold him for not being nice to his sister. This was the norm but now he was waving with a stiff smile on his face.

“Dad, fix him. He is broken,” said Ming Ming, and Yi Zhen pinched the bridge of his nose. Didn’t he warn them that Yi Chen was out of it thus he wouldn’t respond like usual yet they still insisted?

“Dage, how many fingers do I have up?” asked Yi Youxi and Lin Ruoxi slapped his hand away.

“What are you doing? He is not stupid,” said Lin Ruoxi through gritted teeth but Yi Youxi was very determined to mess with his older brother. Now that his older brother was alive and well he could dry his tears and mess with him.

“Dad said he forgot everything so he won’t know how many fingers I am holding. For once I can be smarter than him,” he said with a smug look on his face.

Everyone, “...”

“Four now go and do your homework,” said Yi Chen his tone as tyrannical as usual.

“And there he is. See he is not broken now stop crying,” said Yi Youxi to Ming Ming and she really stopped crying.

“Honey, how are you feeling? Mum was so worried. Wuwuwu don’t ever dare do that to me again....,” said Lin Ruoxi while Yi Youxi leaned towards Ming Ming’s ear and whispered,

“You are so stupid. You could have asked him to do all the things he refuses to do before right now while he is still like this. After this, he will never agree.”

“Really?” whispered Ming Ming and Yi Youxi nodded her head.

“Go ahead... ask him,” he said while covering his mouth so others wouldn’t see.

Ming Ming smiled happily with a tear glistening at the rim of her bottom lid. “Dage, can I give you a makeover when you get home? I will put on ponytails and makeup. I will make you very pretty,” she said nervously playing with her fingers.

Everyone, “...”

The culprit who planted the idea in her head was none other than her good brother over there. Seeing those puppy dog eyes how could Yi Chen refuse? He nodded his head in agreement opening Yi Youxi up to a whole new world.

While Ming Ming was celebrating an unexpected victory Yi Youxi jumped in. “Then can you help me clear level 273 on King’s Lair? I can’t seem to figure it out.”

“No, no games for you. You play too much,” said Lin Ruoxi only for him to retort.

“Ming Ming got to ask for one thing then why can’t I?” he asked while his mother put in a request as well,

“You can go shopping with me and let’s go to the book club afterward. I can’t go on my own because everyone is bringing someone.”

Yi Zhen, “???”

“Then why can’t you take me?” he asked and Lin Ruoxi couldn’t help but retort,

“You nitpick at everything. You analyse every plot hole and ruin it for everybody so you are banned,” she said and Yi Zhen snorted.

“Well, that means they are all stupid. It’s not my fault the author couldn’t even describe how to operate a mech properly.”

“They don’t care. Anyway, you are banned so honey please come with mummy, okay?”

Yi Chen knew they were all sad when he unexpectedly disappeared so he agreed. What concerned him though was why none of them seemed to be worried if he would regain his memory or not.

He didn’t realise was that he was in the hands of the best thus they didn’t worry. As long as he was alive and well they were satisfied. It was a blessing that they could speak to him like this.

“This is your everyday life. The bickering, that’s normal,” explained Yi Feng looking at the four family members bickering in the background.
