What he regretted though was the fact that Yi Chen was getting involved in this mess and his father was very angry. Yi Chen couldn’t even call him because his father had been watching him like a hawk and had confiscated his light brain.

To fully understand how he got here we would need to go back to the moment he did what he did in front of everybody.

Before the crowd could even make sense of what had just happened his very efficient colleagues of his went after him. Sounds of mechs ripped through the skies and they were all trying to talk him into surrendering. But here is the thing, they didn’t know what type of mech they were dealing with.

Zi Han had always been subtle with his mech speed because he didn’t want people to know that his mech was one of the three calamities. This meant everything about his mech was superior. Be it speed, weapons, precision, and intelligence, Igneous was exceptional. That meant they weren’t going to catch up with him that easily.

“How in the world is he faster?” yelled Shaun as Zi Han’s mech turned the corner.

“Are we really doing this? I mean I know what he did but he must have a really good reason,” said Shorty feeling very off about this.

“Quit chit-chatting and focus. Yi Chen where are you?” yelled Hela in the communication channel, ‘Come get your wife.... please,’ continuing the conversation in her head.

Zi Han engaged in stealth mode and thought he could be able to get away from them and not have to put his friends in a position where they would have to have a real conflict.

Just when he was about to fly out of the city, Igneous detected a ghost but it wasn’t enough time for him to react.

Igneous was knocked out of the sky. He engaged his cannon blaster and was about to blow up the mech that attacked him when he realized it was Raylan. Zi Han paused and the fierce expression on his face melted away.

Raylan was on top of him holding Igneous down. The cannon blaster pointing at Raylan’s head retracted and Zi Han called out softly, “Baby.”

“Now you want to baby me? What possessed you so much that you went ahead with this without telling me?... I thought you meant it when you said you love me. Is this how you show it?”

Zi Han felt really bad right now but he didn’t regret it. He just wished he had told Yi Chen about it but at the time he was so angry that he left without thinking and one could understand why.

Zi Han blinked rapidly a couple of times trying to get rid of the tears threatening to flow. He averted his gaze not willing to look at his lover’s eyes. Zi Han could clearly see the hurt in them.

“If I told you... you would try and stop me. I didn’t want you to be labeled an accomplice,” said Zi Han before pushing Yi Chen’s mech away.

“I know you have a responsibility to your family and the people. I don’t want you to get involved in that so I didn’t tell you... I had to do it and I don’t regret it,” said Zi Han but the more he spoke the more he drove that blade deeper into Yi Chen’s heart.

“You don’t regret it? Even when it puts us, our relationship in jeopardy you still don’t regret it?” asked Yi Chen but Zi Han didn’t know how to answer this question. He pursed his lips and remained silent for a while longer than he should have.

“Zi Han!” called out Yi Chen his eyes bloodshot and seeming very upset.

“Okay, okay, okay.... I thought you and I can still be together. I just... With what he did, this was the only satisfying ending. He murdered my father and bragged about it. Not only that but he almost killed you. He did that! So why can’t I deal with him and still be with you?” said Zi Han getting very emotional.

Yi Chen, “...”

“We can... but I want to be able to walk outside with you. Holding your hand without us being afraid that they will take you away from me... That would kill me,” said Yi Chen his voice getting lower and lower. He knew Zi Han had a good reason to do this but it hurt so much. Last night they were saying they loved each other and now....
