HER POV
"Yun bewajah aansu na bahaya kare, hamara dil jalta hai," he whispered, wiping my tears and pulled me to himself.
(Please do not waste your tears like that, my heart burns upon seeing that)
I hugged him tightly, placing my head on his chest and letting my tears come down freely.
"Baby I missed you too." He said and my sobs were interrupted by a couple of hiccups.
How could I possibly convey to him the depth of my longing all these days? His presence brought such a rush of emotions, revealing how much I had missed him.
I couldn't keep my emotions to myself anymore and cried as silently as I could while clutching his shirt. Meanwhile, he rubbed my back and kissed my head.
"Missed me so much?" He asked.
I calmed down a little and pulled back to look at him. He cupped my cheek with one palm and wiped my tears. He softly pulled me closer to himself and I raised my chin to look up at him.
He looked exactly the same, like mine from before.
A little bit tired too.
"In dooriyon ke baad samajh aaya, aapke bagair jeene mein jaan jaati hai hamari," he said looking into my eyes and I couldn't agree more.
(After we drifted further apart, I learnt, it is scary to live away from you.)
"Hamari bhi!" I whispered.
(I feel the same)
"Ab to muskura dijiye, aapke hi hone aaye hain," he said and I couldn't help but smile.
(now please give me a smile, I've come to be yours only)
"Aap janti nahi hai kitna bekarar the hum yeh chehra dekhne ko, jo dekha ab to chain aaya!" he exclaimed and caressed my cheek with deep emotions.
(You've no idea how jittery I was to see this face, now that I've seen it I feel at ease)
I couldn't match his intensity and shied, lowering my eyes to his chest right after my eyes glanced at his neck, which was broad and powerful. I quickly averted my eyes and blinked away.
He held my chin and made me look up to his eyes. I started to feel nervous when he unknowingly began to come closer. I took a step back nervously and bit my lip looking here and there.
He looked at me and followed my eyes. Roughly brushing his hair he chose to speak.
"You said you'll continue once I come back," he said with a soft innocent smile.
What does he mean? Is he serious about that?
"I didn't me..m...mean that. Also, this is not the place for-" I shut my mouth and bit my lip, not knowing what to do or say.
He stepped forward. His eyes locked onto mine, full of earnest intent.
"Theek hai raat ko kamre mein milte hai, bahut si baatein karni hai aapse," he said and winked at me.
(Alright I'll see you in the room at night, I have so much to talk about.)
My heartbeats raced but I started to feel normal like before. Before he could say anything further I turned around suppressing my smile and walked away to leave.
I was happy he was here. I was happy he missed me too. And I was happy to be in his arms like before, feeling safe and adored. I thought all this while walking back to our home through the passage when I heard someone calling me.
"Suniye," I turned around and found the same man I met before walking up to me with big steps.
(Listen)
He smiled looking at me and I wondered what happened.
"Ji?" I asked when came near me and stopped.
(Yes?)
He inhaled a breath and tried to say something.
"Actually I wanted to thank you," he said and I felt confused.
"For what?" I asked.
"About earlier. You helped me find the washroom," he said and I recalled.
A few minutes back the moments were so intense for me that I almost forgot what happened earlier when I encountered him.
"Oh yes... it's okay," I said and was about to leave when he spoke again.
"Actually we've met before," he said and I knitted my brows when he said so.
But I don't remember meeting him anywhere before. Am I forgetting him? The only way I remember him is from that speech he gave at a rally in our district, which was from two years back. His father, Mr. Pathak, was nominated for the election. Other than that I don't remember meeting him personally.
"I'm sorry I don't remember you, do you need any help?" I asked if he was looking for something substantial.
"A..ah no actually... I just wished to talk to you... I saw you at a wedding last year in Somgarh if you remember meeting me." He said politely.
And I was getting more confused now. I remember attending Lakshmi's wedding but I'm not able to recall if I ever met him. He was subtly trying to make me recall him, wouldn't it be impolite to not recognise him?
"You were dancing in the hall wearing a green dress and stumbled upon me.... I guess.. you don't remember me." he said, giving a disappointed smile.
"I'm sorry I-" I got cut off immediately.
"She met a lot of people in the span of one year, she can't remember every single one of them." I looked behind the man standing in front of me and found him staring at his back.
He turned to look back at the voice and without knowing why, I sensed the energy in the room becoming more intense.
"And who are you to worry about?" The man asked in a commanding, deep voice.
I started to feel uneasy between them. My mind raced with worry, trying to figure out what was happening between them. And why were they getting so fierce?
I found him clenching his jaw over his questionable remark, followed by a confident grin and shine in his eyes.
"Because that's my woman, you're trying to get involved with unnecessarily." He said and I shut my eyes not believing his words.
What was he trying to do here in the passageway surrounded by so many people? Shouldn't he restrain his emotions in public? And why get so worked up over such a small thing? The man was just trying to talk normally.
"Says who?" I heard the man speak and I immediately looked at him.
What the hell was he saying? I was confused about whatever the hell was happening here.
"Baby could you excuse us for some time? We need to talk a little." I heard him say, looking at me.
My eyes almost came out of my socket. What has gotten into his head? How could he call me with that nickname he gave me, right in front of a stranger and with so many people around us? What if anyone hears him?
The man standing between us looked as shocked as I was, he immediately turned to look at me dumbfounded and with his jaw tightened.
I immediately turned around feeling embarrassed and started to walk away.
Coming into our house I got busy with house chores although my mind kept thinking about the situation from before. God knows what would have happened between them.
The meeting ended at guest Haveli and all men chose to have dinner there themselves along with other guests, while all the ladies ate here in the house. Finishing off dinner we cleaned and I looked around the house if he had come into the house. But he didn't.
Later everybody retired back to their rooms and so did I. All these days I wished for him to come back and when he did I became happy to see him wishing to spend time with him. But now that he's here, I'm still apart from him.
I sat on my bed with my back supported by the window pane while my eyes wandered all around the room lost in thoughts of him.
Suddenly I felt dip in the bed along with his soft sweet voice.
"Hamare baare mein soch rahi hain?" I heard his voice.
(Thinking about me, are you?)
I looked at him and as expected couldn't help but smile, biting my lip.
"Aapko aisa kyu lagta hai?" I asked while he sat back against the window facing me with his legs crossed.
(Why do you think so?)
I wondered how does he always manage to climb up so easily? Doesn't he get hurt.?
"Apke chehre ka noor bata raha hai," he said and I didn't know what to say now.
(the glow on your face is screaming of it)
"Don't you get hurt while climbing up? And where are your shoes?" I asked.
"I'm very smart, I took them off," he said and winked at me.
He and his gestures, both of which were going to make me crazy.
He paused for a few moments and looked at me intensely. As if pouring out his emotions and reading mine easily.
If he could read my emotions right now he would know how much I missed him and what deep emotions I feel for him. And how difficult it was for me to stay away from him.
I lowered my eyes, not able to withstand his intensity and fidgeted over my dupatta.
"Aisa lagta hai dil aapke paas chod gaye the, ek ek pal jeena mushkil tha hamara," I heard him say those words softly.
(It's like my heart was left behind with you, every second was becoming impossible to live without you)
I could totally relate to his words. I dealt with the same feeling these days. But I didn't want it to be so easy for me either. After all, he stayed away from me, making me miss him so much.
"Jhooth bol rahe hai aap," I said.
(You're lying)
"Aisa kyu lagta hai aapko?" he asked, taking my palm in his.
(Why do you feel so?)
I could now feel warmth under his hold. It gave me peace.
"Itna bechain the to itne din ki doori kyu?" I complained with a pout looking at our hands together.
(If you were so jittery then why did you stay apart for so many days)
He suddenly pulled my arm to himself, making me lie over him. My face is extremely close to his, while my chest is crushing his. He swiftly turned me to make me sit on his lap with my back touching his chest. It felt oddly comfortable.
"Bechain to aap bhi bahut lag rahi hai hume" he whispered over my lips and suddenly pecked my ears.
(I can witness the same restlessness in you too)
My chest started to go up and down with his action and I closed my eyes when he snaked my waist. It felt too close.
"Hamari pasand ki aurat ko koi nazar bhar ke dekhe hamara dil jalta hai Sunaina." he said and his lips were making me weak in my knees.
(My heart burns when someone tries to look endearingly at my woman)
The slight touch was killing me. I didn't know what I wished for him to do now. But I knew what he was trying to say.
"But he was just talking normally" my voice came barely above a whisper.
"I know what he wants, please stay away from him as much as possible," he said and again kissed my ears.
"O...okay!" I almost moaned and suddenly pressed his palm on my waist.
I let out an inaudible gasp but didn't want to let him comprehend that.
"But you shouldn't have addressed me like that in front of everyone," I said trying to stay calm.
"Why? Don't you like that?" he asked.
"What would he be thinking about us? And what if someone heard you?" I said.
"This is who I am Sunaina. I can't keep it hidden that you're mine and that you are out of reach of any other man who is willing to have a chance." he said and pressed his lips on my cheeks deeply.
