HER POV

This man is messing with my head like no one else. He's stirring emotions that are about to drive me mad. He gets me nervous with his act and words and on top of that, he's now even learnt to shut my mouth. Actually I'm startled at how he even does that.

Last night when he came into my room, not only did he surprise me but he also began to get me nervous and thinking over his words and the emotions behind his words. I am now beginning to understand his feelings and emotions behind those eyes when he speaks intensely looking into mine.

But I won't let myself slip in front of him or give in around him, I'm never going to let him know that his words, his eyes, his touch, it all affects me. I should look more convincing now, he's a smart boy.

I walked out of the door and found him standing down the stairs in a black shirt being pants, he was looking appealing. Though I should compose myself right now, especially when I'm around him.

I asked to leave but he was staring at me as if he looked at a star in the daylight. I bit my lip from smiling and walked down the stairs.

"Follow me when you are done staring," I said and walked ahead of him and smiled wholeheartedly when he couldn't notice me.

I felt him following me behind and I adjusted my expression in an instant.

"Where are we going today?" I asked.

He walked beside me covering up his long legs and wearing his dark sunglasses, after putting his phone in his pocket and looked straight.

"I need to repair the water supply around the village. Starting today we'll begin with wells on the outskirts of the village, from where more than half of the village gets water." He said.

"Okay. And what will I do?" I asked.

He smiled and turned to look at me.

"You will help me with assistance." He said and I looked away immediately.

"You need assistance?" I asked.

"Yes, of course, I can't seem to think clearly without you these days," he said and my expression dropped.

What is wrong with him? What does that even mean?

"kya matlab?" I asked, looking at him.

(What do you mean?)

"You will know yourself very soon," he said and I felt more confused.

But I chose to stay silent for now and we further walked up to the outskirts of the village.

All this while we talked about the villagers and the problems they have been facing in farming. I informed him about the strengths and weaknesses of our village and the import and export process of the district.

Meanwhile, he explained to me that since Rao's destroyed the farmlands they also affected the water quality, and we need to change the process of water flow.

Reaching out on the outskirts, I found the Mayor of the district and Pradhan being present along with other villagers. We walked up to them and greeted them.

(Pradhan -village committee president)

Later on, he started to explain to them about the situation and its solution and they agreed to help him in whatever way he needed them and thanked him for being concerned about this village.

I on the other hand was admiring him all this while, how thanklessly he was helping this village that was not his, how he was personally attending every place and looking for the problem himself. He was keen on finding solutions to every problem he witnessed. And not for once did he ever make the other feel obligated. As I said earlier, he is a smart boy.

"Sunaina papers," I heard him and suddenly got a grip on myself.

"Ye.. Yess... here," I said, giving him the report immediately so that he doesn't catch me ogling him.

But that little smirk playing on his lips while scanning those papers was telling me how terribly I failed to hide my feelings.

Stupid me!

Afterwards, they left while a few groups of people started to come our way. It was my first time seeing them.

"Who are they?" I asked, looking at those men.

"They are workers sent by Bhaisa for work today." He said.

A man approached him and shook hands with him, who turned out to be the man in charge. He was supposed to dig a few wells deeper and attach turbines to them to generate water supply.

I introduced them to the wells on the outskirts that were in no condition of working since a couple of years, as well as those whose water quality had worsened due to Rao's ill strategies.

Later I familiarised them with the ones inside the village, used by families.

The man in charge, Raghu, agreed to repair them all, including cleaning the water quality. In no time they started their work and we supervised them.

It was an hour before noon when I was sitting on a wooden bar near the well, in the village, while he was discussing something with the workers. And I started to get bored and hungry. My mind stops working when I'm hungry. I was juggling with these thoughts when I heard him clearing his throat and sitting beside me.

I looked at him and he turned to look at me.

"You look bored," he said and I nodded tiredly.

"And hungry," I added looking back to the front.

"But there's still time for lunch," he said.

"I know," I said and sighed helplessly.

Suddenly I felt him standing up.

"Let's go!" he said and I looked up to him.

He looked so tall at this moment, and so fit.

"Where?" I asked.

"Market, let's have a snack, even I'm hungry a little," he said and I jumped up cheerfully.

"Really? Shall we go? It's been days since I went to the market!" I said, getting excited.

He smiled looking at me and nodded.

"Chalein?" He said and put forward his hand and I got nervous and looked around.

(Shall we)

"Let's go!" I said walking ahead of him.

What was he thinking about forwarding his palm to me? That too in the middle of the village. What would anyone say? I sighed nervously and kept walking.

I felt him walking beside me but quite closer.

"Hamare gale lag sakti hai, hamara haath nahi pakad sakti?" He said and my heart started to beat loudly.

(You can hug me, but can't hold my hand?)

"Wo...woh sabke sa...amne..." I tried to say something but nothing seemed to make sense.

(Act...Actually in...infront of everyone)

"Koi baat nahi," he said and then we silently walked up to the market.

(It's okay, nevermind)

I was now tense wondering what if he's angry or annoyed by me now. What if he doesn't like to be with me anymore? What if he misjudged me?

Later on, we reached a shop and I saw the cook frying samosas and kachori. Immediately my mouth gulped down the saliva merely looking at it. I excitedly looked at him, he looked behind me and pulled me harshly by my waist. I held his shoulders in an urgent need and looked at him.

"Watch it!" He said clenching his jaw, looking behind me.

He looked attractive at this moment. His jawline was so sharp, he looked irresistibly handsome. He has always looked good to me when I'm this close to him.

Suddenly I felt him closing my mouth a little with his finger while his lips spread wider. And he now knew I was ogling again. This time was a bigger embarrassment.

"Bhare bazaar mein hume ghoor sakti hai, par hamara haath nahi pakad sakti?" He said and I instantly lowered my eyes.

(You can stare at me in the open market, but cannot hold my hand?)

He loosened his hold and I stepped back. Suddenly I felt him holding my palm and taking me to that shop.

"What do you want to eat?" He asked and I looked at those food items placed in front of me.

My smile grew wider along with my hunger.

"Bhaiya do samose aur do chai," I ordered and felt him leaving my hand.

(Brother two samosas and two cups of tea)

(samosas -an Indian snack)

Instantly I looked lower at our hands but they were not together anymore. Do not know why, but it saddened me a little.

"Ji aap baithe hum laate hai," the shop owner said.

(Please take a seat, I'll get them to you)

I nodded at him and walked ahead to a place in front of the shop with a small table and wooden stools, under the hut. It was a small but clean place, also away from the cooking area. So it did not feel hot, instead, it was one without walls, giving way to fresh air.

I sat on the small stool facing the market and looked beside me, but didn't find him. I looked back and found him standing at the shop, scanning the place.

I waved to him and he noticed. I asked him to come and sit beside me and he followed after sighing heavily. I knew what he was thinking.

I looked at him when he came near me and patted on the stool next to me, he sat after a calculative pause.

"Are you sure about this place?" He asked.

"Absolutely. I've been coming here since my childhood," I said.

"Okay... but-" I cut him off.

"Hum par bharosa hai?" I asked, looking at him, and he turned to me to figure out the answer I guess.

(Do you trust me?)

Is it that tough to answer? I wandered over his calculative pause.

"Sabse zyada," he said a little above the whisper.

(More than anything)

I should feel happy about that but that moment brought much more intensity that I could not even describe to myself.

"Didi, chai," I heard a young boy say, after placing our order.

(Sister tea)

I was very excited to eat that. My face could easily tell so. I put forward his tea and samosa and was about to start with mine when I heard him.

"You can have it, I don't eat this food." He said and my smile faded away.

"What? why? It's really delicious," I said.

"I can tell so by your face, but I don't eat oily food," he said looking at me and then at the food.

"But why?" I asked.

"Umm... because of the gym, I haven't eaten oily food for four years," he said and I was shocked to hear that.

"What? Four years?" I asked.

How could that be possible? And why does he even have to do that?

I quickly pulled his plate closer to me and tore a small bite off.

"Chaar saal me ek baar kha lenge, to bhi aapke abs aath ke aath hi rahenge," I said, putting forward the bite near his lips.

(If you will eat once in four years, still you will be left with eight-pack abs)

He looked at me with soft eyes and gentle emotions and then looked at the bite and bit his lower lip very slowly.

Taking in a sharp breath he held my palm and brought it extremely close to his lips and looked into my eyes with intense emotions before taking in the bite, softly licking my fingers with his lips.

His touch immediately made a shiver run down my spine, awakening my soul.

"Pyaar se khilayngi to zehar bhi kha lenge," he said and I almost forgot to breathe.

(If you feed me with love, I would even eat poison.)

He chewed over his bite, staring into my eyes and suddenly winked, racing my heartbeats. I felt getting closer to him each second.
