“I’ll bear all the responsibility,” Zhao Chuchu said in such a calm manner that everyone around her had a sense of security from her voice. She turned to look at the owner. “Can you prepare a bed for me? I’ll also need hot water…”

Her orders and requests were systematic. The owner looked at the lady and instinctively followed her demand.

When he finally realized that, Zhao Chuchu had already taken the woman into a room in the medicine hall.

“Hey, owner. Isn’t the lady a little too young? How can you let her do what she wants?” the doctor asked anxiously. “What if the woman dies inside here? We’ll have to answer many questions at the county office.”

“Could it be they are working together? You know, to scam us?” the doctor then asked.

The doctor kept urging the owner to chase Zhao Chuchu and the pregnant woman up.

He had concluded that the pregnant woman could not be saved, and there was no point in troubling himself.

The chatters inside the medicine hall were getting even more ridiculous.

The man focused all his attention on the room as he worried about his wife. Because of that focus, he didn’t realize that the others were ridiculing him.

That was why the people were getting even more out of control.

The owner also felt as if something was off and was hesitating if he should chase them out or not.

Just then, the cold voice of Zhao Chuchu could be heard from inside the room. “If I manage to save her, I’ll pull all of your tongues out of your mouths! If you don’t want to become mute, shut your mouth!”

A cup flew out from inside the room when she finished her threat. The cup was shot toward the door and dug deep into the wood.

The people inside the medicine hall were terrified by the scene and quieted down immediately.

Inside the room, Zhao Chuchu was using silver needles to control the woman’s heartbeat. She managed to wake the woman up and had her keep a slice of ginseng inside her mouth.

It didn’t take long for the scream of the pregnant woman to echo around the entire hall. The people could faintly hear how Zhao Chuchu instructed the woman to push the baby out.

The doctor was already covered in sweat. He could not divert his stare from the room.

The others started to get worried for the pregnant woman.

About 30 minutes later, the weak cry of a baby could be heard.

The people were all stunned. It was as if they couldn’t believe their ears.

They focused, and just as they thought, they heard a baby’s cry.

After a while, Zhao Chuchu came out of the room with a baby wrapped in a blanket in her arms. She walked to the father and said, “Congratulations. Both your wife and daughter are safe.”

The man took the baby from Zhao Chuchu with his shaky hands. Tears filled his eyes immediately.

Zhao Chuchu then turned to look at everyone inside the medicine hall. In a cold voice, she said, “So, those who were ridiculing me just a while ago, aren’t you guys supposed to apologize to me? God gave you all one mouth and two hands for a reason. God wants you to talk less and work more!”
