The grand wedding of Rekha's daughter was a spectacle to behold. The venue was adorned with lush floral arrangements, shimmering lights, and a vibrant array of traditional decorations. The air was filled with the melodious strains of classical music and the joyful chatter of guests. Ananya, Rihaan, and the Mehra family arrived in their finest attire, ready to partake in the festivities.

Rihaan’s eyes were wide with wonder as he took in the grandeur of the event. He marveled at the elaborate decorations, the rich colors, and the elaborate rituals. Every corner of the venue seemed to offer something new and exciting for him to explore. His curiosity was piqued, and he wandered around with boundless enthusiasm, munching on snacks and savoring the array of delectable treats laid out for the guests.

Ananya made sure to stay close to Rihaan. She understood how overwhelming such events could be for him, and she didn’t want him to get lost in the crowd. She gently guided him through the various stages of the wedding, ensuring he had everything he needed and was comfortable amidst the commotion.

"Rihaan, stay close to me," Ananya said softly, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "There's a lot going on, and I want to make sure you’re okay."

Rihaan looked up at her with a big, happy smile. "Okay, Anya!" He roamed his eyes on the food counters. "Anya, Look at all the food!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement as he eyed a tray of colorful sweets.

"Yes, there’s plenty of food. Just don’t eat too much, okay?" Ananya advised, though she couldn’t help but smile at his enthusiasm.

As the wedding ceremony progressed, Ananya and Rihaan settled into their seats, watching the various rituals with interest. The highlight of the ceremony was the saath phere—the seven rounds that symbolize the vows taken by the bride and groom. Ananya noticed Rihaan’s fascination as he watched the couple walk around the sacred fire, each round signifying a promise made to one another.

Rihaan’s gaze was fixed on the ritual. He nudged Ananya and asked curiously, "Anya, what are they doing?"

"They’re taking vows," Ananya explained. "It’s a special part of the wedding where the bride and groom promise to be together for the rest of their lives."

"Like we did?" Rihaan asked, his eyes widening slightly. "You and me?"

Ananya hesitated for a moment, then nodded, smiling softly. "Yes, we also did something like that."

Rihaan’s brows furrowed in concentration. He was fascinated by the concept but didn’t fully understand it. Though he didn’t grasp the full meaning of marriage, he understood that Ananya was his life partner.

As the ceremony continued, he overheard some of the family members teasing the newlyweds. "Finally, you’re husband and wife now!" they joked, their voices filled with playful excitement.

"Husband and wife?" Rihaan repeated softly to himself, his mind buzzing with curiosity. He pondered the term but didn’t ask anyone for clarification. Everyone seemed too busy enjoying the celebration, and Rihaan didn’t want to interrupt.

Throughout the evening, Rihaan continued to explore, enjoying every bit of the wedding's grandeur. He sampled every dish he could find, delighting in the variety of flavors. From the rich biryanis to the sweet rasgullas, he indulged with childlike glee. Ananya kept a watchful eye on him, ensuring he didn’t overeat while still allowing him to enjoy himself.

When the time came for dancing, Rihaan was thrilled. He joined in the festivities with abandon, twirling and laughing as he tried to mimic the dance moves of the older guests. Ananya danced alongside him, her heart warmed by his pure joy and unfiltered happiness.

By the time the wedding ended, Rihaan was exhausted but still buzzing with energy. As they returned to Mehra Manor, Ananya asked him gently, "Did you have fun, Rihaan?"

Rihaan grinned widely. "So much fun, Anya! There was so much food, and everyone was so happy, and the music was so loud! And…" His face suddenly became more serious, and his brows furrowed in confusion.

Ananya noticed the shift in his expression. "What’s on your mind, Rihaan?"

He hesitated for a moment, then blurted out, "Anya, what is husband and wife?"

Ananya blinked, caught off guard by the question. "Why do you ask?"

Rihaan scratched his head. "At the wedding, they were saying that the bride and groom were husband and wife after the rounds. What does it mean?"

Ananya sat down beside him on the couch, thinking carefully about how to explain it in a way he would understand. "Well, husband and wife are two people who love each other and promise to live their lives together. They take care of each other and their family."

Rihaan's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Like you and me?"

Ananya looked at him for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, like you and me."

His expression turned thoughtful, and then he asked, "So…what does a husband do?"

Ananya was surprised at his next question, but she answered patiently, "A husband takes care of his wife and family. He makes sure they are safe and happy."

Rihaan nodded, absorbing the information. "And what does a wife do?"

"A wife also takes care of her husband and family. She supports them and helps them when they need it."

Rihaan paused for a moment, then said, "Like you take care of me?"

Ananya’s heart softened at his words, and she smiled gently. "Yes, like I take care of you."

Rihaan thought about this for a few moments, and then, with a determined look in his eyes, he said, "Then I should also take care of you, Anya."

Ananya’s heart melted at his innocent declaration. She chuckled softly, amused and touched at the same time. "Oh? And how do you plan to take care of me, Rihaan?"

He puffed out his chest proudly, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "I will protect you! And I will make sure you eat all your food, and I will be with you when you’re sad. And… I will make you laugh!"

Ananya couldn’t help but smile widely at his earnestness. "You’re already doing a great job at that, Rihaan."

Rihaan, feeling proud of himself, stood up and placed his hands on his hips. "Good! Then I will be the best husband ever!"

Ananya chuckled, her heart warm from his sweet words. "I’m sure you will be."

The rest of the evening passed with Rihaan hovering protectively around Ananya. Every time she moved, he would ask if she needed anything or if she was okay, in his own adorable way.

"Anya, are you tired? Should I get you a pillow?"

"Anya, did you drink water? You have to stay hydrated!"

"Anya, do you need help with your work? I can help!"

Ananya found herself both amused and in awe of how seriously he was taking his new role as her "protector." It wasn’t romantic, but it was heartwarming, and she appreciated how much he cared, even if he didn’t fully understand the complexities of relationships.

Later that night, as they both settled into bed, Rihaan scooted closer to her, placing his hand on hers. "Anya?"

"Hmm?" she responded sleepily.

"I will always take care of you. I promise."

Ananya, though not someone who typically showed her emotions, felt a tug at her heart. She squeezed his hand gently and whispered, "I know, Rihaan. I know."

As they drifted off to sleep, Ananya couldn’t help but think about how far they had come. Life with Rihaan was never simple, but moments like these made it all worth it. He may not understand the full extent of their relationship, but his love and care were pure, and that was more than enough.
