Chapter 78
Bride Behind The Mask
Frederick spun around, giving Yuna a quick onceâover, and instantly asked, âWhere?â
âMr. Winston, she is in Room 305 of the Stonebridge Memorial Hospitalâs inpatient department. The lady has lost consciousness and is currently receiving treatment.â
âGot it.â He quickly hung up the call, his emotions swirling inside him.
You could say that Yunaâs current state had a lot to do with her family circumstances.
Ablet and Zoe ran a casino, their coarseness having a profound influence on her.
If Yuna had lived with the elderly lady all along, away from the temptations and hustle of the world, she definitely wouldnât have become the person she was today.
Frederick didnât want this person whoâd once helped him to turn down the wrong path. He was hoping Laverneâs appearance could reawaken Yunaâs conscience.
Seeing him hang up. Yuna seemed to calm down a bit and threw herself into his arms.
âFrederick, everything I said was true. You and grandma are my world, and I canât lose any more.
And my perfume making skills were taught by grandma. Itâs a pity though, I still donât know where she is.â
This time, Frederick didnât push Yuna away. His body was somewhat tense as he calmly asked, âDo you miss her?â
Tears were streaming down Yunaâs face, and she looked heartbroken.
Nodding like a pecking chicken, her face was a picture of sorrow, âOf course I do. I dream of seeing grandma. But I guess this wish will never come true.â
Frederick gently patted Yunaâs shoulders, softly saying, âGet up, Iâll drive you somewhere.â
Yuna was stunned, looking at him with a puzzled expression, âFrederick, where are you taking me?
What are you doing?â
By this point, heâd already started the car, quickly driving out of the parking lot, âA surprise for you.â
Hearing this, Yunaâs eyes lit up instantly, âFrederick, did I hear that right? Youâre giving me a surprise?â
âMhm.â
Her eyes sparkled, âThen⦠have you forgiven me?â
His face expressionless, âDepends on your behavior.â
If even Laverne couldnât awaken the goodness in Yunaâs heart, he really needed to consider whether it was necessary to keep the promise heâd made years ago.
Yuna nodded vigorously, âFrederick, I wonât do anything to upset you again. I promise, this is the last time.â
Frederick didnât speak to Yuna any further. He drove straight to Stonebridge Memorial Hospital.
Half an hour later, Frederick parked the car in the hospitalâs outdoor parking lot.
Seeing it was a hospital, Yuna seemed a bit puzzled. âFrederick, why did you take me to a hospital?â
Frederick turned off the engine and got out of the car, âFollow me and youâll know.â
What was going on?
Why would the surprise Frederick had for her be in a hospital?
This wasnât a good sign.
Yuna furrowed her brows, seeming a bit displeased. But because Frederick took her here, she would go no matter how much she disliked the place.
Yuna quickly followed Frederickâs pace, pondering as she walked.
Was there someone important to Frederick staying in this hospital?
A family member of his?
Ever since sheâd known him, sheâd never met any of Frederickâs family, nor had she heard him mention any.
So was Frederickâs purpose this time to introduce her to his family?
