Chapter 57
Bride Behind The Mask
Yuna suddenly screamed, her body briefly airborne before crashing hard on the ground.
Debris was scattered around, some embedded in her arm and thigh, but the injury was not serious, only a little fresh blood was seeping out of her elbow.
Yunaâs smug satisfaction quickly turned into anger, her eyes blazing red as she opened her mouth to scold, âMarguerite.â
Her words abruptly stopped because Marguerite, standing in front of her, looked shocked, her eyes incredulously fixed on the doorway behind her.
Yuna slowly turned her head, casting a sidelong glance, and sure enough, she saw Frederick standing in the doorway.
She immediately shed a couple of tears, covered her elbow, and started sobbing.
âYouâre so ruthless! Why did you push me? It was bad enough that you copied my work, but money and my life?â
Marguerite was taken aback.
ow youâve pushed me to the ground. Marguerite, do you want both my What was this woman saying? Did she change her tune the moment she realized Frederick was here?
Her acting was so good, why didnât she become an actress?
Marguerite was both angry and amused. âYuna, have you no shame? Who plagiarized whom, and why would I push you? Donât you know whatâs really going on?â
âEnough!â Frederickâs authoritative voice echoed throughout the room. The man stepped forward, bending down to help Yuna up from the floor.
Yuna immediately threw herself into Frederickâs arms, tears falling down her face. âFreddie.â
The man gently rubbed Yunaâs shoulder, his cold eyes darkly staring at Marguerite. âIs the confrontation you wanted just the panic and anger after being exposed?â
Margueriteâs back stiffened, her nose prickled, and her frightened eyes instantly filled with tears.
Panic and anger after being exposed?
Just because she pushed Yuna, he assumed that the plagiarism was her doing?
Marguerite was filled with resentment and shaking with anger, her words becoming jumbled:
âFrederick, your timing couldnât be worse. If you had come ten minutes earlier, you would have heard Yuna admitting to copying my work.â
âUnfortunately, all I saw was you pushing her.â Frederickâs gaze was calm, but enough to frighten anyone.
Hearing this, Yuna immediately snuggled deeper into Frederickâs arms, shooting a defiant look at Marguerite, then turning her pitiful gaze towards the man.
âFreddie, Iâve never copied her work, really. Iâm a bit upset, but I donât want to make a fuss, I believe Marguerite didnât do it on purpose.â
Yunaâs magnanimous attitude infuriated Marguerite. She had refuted the accusations too many times, but no one was willing to believe her.
Marguerite looked defeated, not expecting Yuna not to let her off the hook.
âMarguerite, Iâve already dropped it, but you donât need to apologize to me. Donât make Freddie angry anymore, youâve smashed the room. If you apologize to Freddie properly, he wonât do anything to you.â
Marguerite was shocked once again.
Was this woman blaming everything on her?
Was she the scapegoat?
Was she supposed to be bullied by everyone?
âYuna, do you find lying amusing? I really regret not recording your actions just now!â Marguerite finally snapped, shouting at Yuna.
âMarguerite!â Frederick raised his voice, his authoritative tone making everyone in the room tremble.
âControl your emotions!â
