Chapter 376
Bride Behind The Mask
In the afternoon, when the three kids had just returned from school, Yuna mysteriously summoned Teresa aside.
The sudden shift in demeanor made Teresa feel like a deer caught in the headlights.
Whatâs up with this old witch suddenly being so sweet? Yuna handed a handmade invitation to Teresa, her smile as warm as a spring breeze as she looked at the little girl, âTeresa, tomorrow is Manleyâs birthday. I formally invite you and your parents to come and celebrate.â
Teresa coolly glanced at the invite, âIâm not going.â
Why would she go when itâs not Hayesâ birthday? No way!
Yuna, not giving up, tempted Teresa, âHayes will also be celebrating his birthday tomorrow. He and Manley are twins, they always celebrate together.â
âWhat? Hayes and Manley are twins?â
Teresaâs surprise was so great she shouted out loud! How could Hayes and Manley be twins?!
It just so happened that Frederick returned from work then, seeing the two looking at each other in surprise, Teresa with an incredulous look on her face.
Frederick, his eyebrows slightly furrowed, approached and asked, âWhatâs happening?â
Yuna, eager to show off in front of Frederick, hurriedly explained, âFreddie, tomorrow is Hayes and Manleyâs birthday. Teresa is close with both of them, so I invited her to join the celebration.â
Given the upcoming celebration, Teresa should look happy, so why did she seem so lost in thought?
Frederick lovingly pulled the little girl into his arms, asking gently, âWhatâs the matter, you donât want to go?â
Teresa softly shook her head, âNo, thatâs not it. Iâm just surprised that Hayes and Manley are twins. I thought Hayes was the older one!â
Yunaâs heart skipped a beat, her legs going weak as she took a step back..
Manley, her prematurely birthed child, was a whole month younger than Hayes. But to secure Manleyâs inheritance rights, she had lied about him being born before Hayes!
But this little imp saw right through it!
âWhy would you think that?â Frederick asked, puzzled.
âTheir heights! Hayes is so much taller than Manley, I thought he was my age. I canât believe Iâm actually a month older than him! And besides, Hayes and Manley donât look alike at all, they donât look like twins!â
Another bolt from the blue! Yuna struggled to keep her expression under control.
She glanced at Frederick and noticed that he seemed to take Teresaâs words to heart. Worried about being found out, she quickly explained, âTeresa, Hayes and Manley are fraternal twins, thatâs why they donât look alike.â
Teresa rested her chin in her hand, deep in thought, âIf thatâs the case, you need to get Manleyâs bone age tested. If his bone age doesnât match his actual age, you should start him on hormones as soon as possible, otherwise heâll be short when he grows up!â
The little girlâs earnest advice made Frederick chuckle. âHow do you know so much at such a young age?â
Teresa proudly snuggled into the manâs face, grinning widely, âI read about it in a genetics book. Hayesâ
Daddy, I know lots of things, and Iâm a child prodigy!â
She had read many genetics books before in her pursuit of becoming a portrait artist, âHayesâ Daddy, you need to pay attention to Manleyâs situation!â
âIâll keep your advice in mind, Iâll take Hayes and Manley to get their bone age tested.â
Yuna was taken aback. Testing bone age should just involve taking X-rays of the bones, right? It wouldnât involve any kind of paternity test⦠would it?
