Chapter 366
Bride Behind The Mask
Hayes cheered himself up by keeping reminding himself about Teresaâs daily affection towards him.
Once he returned to the villa, he found Teresa and Manley engrossed in a video game.
The duo was engrossed in the game, and Hayes felt left out. Therefore, he could only sit beside Teresa and watch her play.
âHeadshot! Get him! Heâs practically standing in front of you, what are you waiting for?â
Teresa was impatient and angry. The next moment, two gunshots were heard, and Manley froze before shouting, âYou stole my kill!â
âWhat? I was saving you! One more shot and youâd be dead!â
Manley glanced at the game stats, and despite the game having just started five minutes ago, Teresa had already killed over ten people while he had not managed to eliminate anyone.
His extreme selfishness made it difficult for him to accept that Teresa was about to receive the âMVPâ
title! Instead, he threw a grenade near Teresa, ending the game prematurely by intentionally killing himself.
Teresa watched the blinding white light cover the screen, and the system promptly declared her death.
She looked at a smug Manley, utterly upset and angry, âWhy did you do that? We were about to win!â
âItâs you whoâs winning, not me!â
âThis is a team game!â
âYou took all my kills! If it wasnât for you, I wouldâve been the MVP! Youâre like a mute thief!â
Manley lashed out, leaving Teresa bewildered.
Shouldnât she be the one whoâs angry? Why was Manley shouting at her?
It felt as if she was the one who had wronged him.
Manleyâs outburst attracted Yunaâs attention, who immediately rushed over and interrogated them, âWhat happened?â âMummy! Teresa keeps stealing my kills, she even took the MVP title from me!â
Manley quickly told on her.
âI didnât steal your kills, I was saving you! That guy was shooting at you!â
âI was already aiming at him, I couldâve killed him any second, but you came and stole my glory! Youâre the worst!â
Teresa tried to explain, but Yunaâs icy glare immediately silenced her, âApologize to Manley.â
Teresa was puzzled. Why should she apologize? It wasnât her fault!
âAre you not going to say anything?â Yunaâs gaze was threatening.
Subconsciously, Hayes tightened his grip on Teresaâs hand, anxiously glancing at Yuna, fearing she might lash out at Teresa next.
Teresa looked back at Yuna, took a deep breath, and decided to swallow her pride.
âItâs okay, I can apologize. It wonât kill me,â she thought to herself.
More importantly, she knew she could make this mother-son duo pay for this soonâ¦
âIâm sorry,â Teresa muttered weakly.
Hearing Teresaâs apology, Manley smirked at her triumphantly, as if gloating.
Yuna glanced at Teresa, her dislike for the girl growing. Previously, she didnât have a chance to intervene when Frederick was at home. Now, she thought she could seize the opportunity before Frederick returned to kick this annoying girl out.
She glanced at the time, and indirectly suggested Teresa should leave, âItâs getting late, and our chef is already preparing dinner. What are your plans?â
Teresa pretended not to understand Yunaâs hint and innocently replied, âI was thinking of asking the chef to make me some chicken drumsticks. I love drumsticks!â
Yunaâs face fell. What was this girl planning, staying at her house?
She decided to be more direct, âAre you deaf?â
Teresa blinked, exited the game and opened her chat with Frederick, âHayesâ daddy said I could stay for dinner. Heâll be home soon!â
As she finished speaking, the sound of the front door unlocking was heard.
Teresa chirped, âSee, Hayesâ daddy is back!â
The little girl ran to the front door, eagerly welcoming the arrival.
As she opened the door, Jocelyn and Frederick stood there, The moment Frederick saw Teresa, his heart softened a bit. He gestured towards the little girl and introduced her to Jocelyn, âMom, this is Teresa.â
Mom? Teresa looked at Jocelyn and blurted out, âYouâre my grandma!?â
So, this was her biological grandmother!
