Chapter 364
Bride Behind The Mask
That night, Marguerite found herself restless, tossing and turning in her bed. Her mind was filled with conjectures about what the Taekwondo coach meant.
Teresaâs kindergarten, located in Stonebridge City, was the go-to for the cityâs elites. Most sons and daughters of the wealthy families attended this prestigious institution. Bribes to the headmaster and teachers were a common occurrence, and not a surprise to anyone.
However, this coach, he didnât want money? Then what did he want? Marguerite was at a loss.
The next morning arrived. With two large dark circles under her eyes, Marguerite sat at the breakfast table, eating a sandwich absentmindedly.
Teresa, with her round, big eyes, enjoyed a mouthful of cereal. The delicious flavor had her exclaim, âSo yummy!â
Marguerite glanced at her daughterâs upper lip, stained with milk, making her look like she had a small moustache. It was too adorable.
âClean your mouth,â reminded Marguerite.
In response, Teresa cheekily stuck out her tongue, licking the milk off.
âWhat a messy eater,â Marguerite laughed, setting down her sandwich and suddenly asked, âTeresa, is the Taekwondo coach nice to you?â
Images of Frederick flashed through Teresaâs mind, bringing with it a wave of happiness.
âHeâs pretty nice,â she replied.
Marguerite, her arm resting on the table, her pale hand supporting her chin, continued, âSo, what kind of person do you think he is?â
âHeâs warm but can also be pretty domineering,â Teresa replied thoughtfully.
Warm? Domineering? Marguerite remembered the coachâs coarse voice during their phone conversation. He even had a slight accent, making her imagine him as a burly, older man. How could that be related to warmth or domineering?
âHe didnât sound like it.â
Teresa puffed up her cheeks. Of course he didnât sound like it! The person who took the call yesterday was the driver, not Frederick!
âDoes the coach have any particular hobbies? Or anything he likes?â
Teresa, sipping her orange juice, shook her head, âNot sure⦠does smoking cigarettes count?â
Smoking? Marguerite couldnât possibly gift the coach two packs of cigarettes, could she?
That would be too inappropriate!
However, if he liked smoking cigarettes, she indeed had something she could give.
Whether itâs appropriate, or not, she wasnât sure.
Teresa, sensing that her mom was acting odd today, wondered why she was so interested in Frederick.
Was she developing feelings for him?
No way, it couldnât be so soon!
Teresa shook her head, deciding to put aside her motherâs romantic concerns for now.
She had more important things to do, âMom, I wonât be home for dinner tonight! We did well yesterday, so the coach is treating us to dinner.â
Frederick hadnât invited Teresa to stay over for dinner. It was merely an excuse concocted by the little one. After what Manley and his mom did to Hayes yesterday, she felt suffocated and determined to avenge Hayes.
She had already thought of a foolproof plan, and Tonight would be the day sheâd settle scores for Hayes!
Thinking of her plan, Teresa clenched her little fists, slamming them on her knees.
Her little face was filled with righteous indignation. But Teresa was a natural actress, so Marguerite didnât think much of her daughterâs changed demeanor.
She stood up, ruffling Teresaâs fluffy hair, âIâll go upstairs to get something for your coach, make sure you give it to him.â
Teresa was stunned. What? Momâs giving Hayesâ dad a gift?
He would definitely be happy, wouldnât he?
