Chapter 120
Bride Behind The Mask
âHow the hell did Freddie find out I called that old hag a dummy? Damn it! She actually went tattling!â
Yuna was so ticked off she couldnât breathe. Watching Frederick walk away, she turned and marched towards the mansion to confront Laverne.
But the mansion was only filled with servants. Yuna instantly switched her tone, âWhereâs the oldâ¦
Whereâs my grandma?â
The servants looked at her in surprise.
âSpeak up! Did you all turn mute? Iâm Freddieâs fiancée. Shouldnât you address me as âmaâamâ when you see me? Forgot your places, did you? Want to get fired?â
No one responded.
Yuna was being quite the brat. Plus, she had only come to the mansion twice; many servants didnât even know her.
So, some were speechless, some looked puzzled, everyone treated her as if she was off her rocker.
Ignored. Yuna started to yell, âDo I need to teach you how to talk? In this house, itâs only Freddie and me. Is this how you treat your masters? Now, whereâs my grandma?â
A new servant, trembling, nervously asked, âMiss, are you looking for Lady Laverne? Sheâs upstairs, still asleep.â
âThatâs more like it!â Yuna held her chin up high, pointing at the servant, âYou all should address me as âMissâ like she did. Donât forget your manners.â
After her speech, Yuna turned and strutted towards the stairs, not noticing everyone was rolling their eyes at her behind her back.
In her rush to go upstairs, she didnât ask where Laverneâs room was and had to go door to door.
In doing so, she accidentally walked into Frederickâs dressing room.
At the time, a tailor was ironing a suit, and a white dress was hanging on a rack behind him, apparently waiting to be pressed.
She was instantly attracted to the dress.
It was long, with diamonds around the waist, and a large bow on the back.
Proper from the front, sweet from the back.
Yuna fell in love with the dress and without a second thought, didnât care that the tailor was still there, took the dress down and held it up against herself.
The tailor jumped, âMiss, what are you doing! You canât touch Madameâs dress! Itâs for their party in a couple of days!â
The tailor snatched the dress back as if protecting his treasure, then examined it carefully, afraid it got dirty by Yuna.
Yuna, deprived of the dress, was about to explode, but she caught the information in the tailorâs words and quickly asked, âWhat party?â
The tailor hung the dress back, âItâs Mr. Winstonâs fatherâs sixtieth birthday. Mr. Winston is taking his wife home.â
Yuna was taken aback by the news, stepping back, almost losing her balance.
Freddieâs taking Marguerite home to meet his parents?
Why?
She was Frederickâs fiancée, and she should be the one heâs taking home!
Marguerite, where did this beggar come from? Why is Freddie so fond of her?
She came to the mansion to deliver chicken soup to Freddie, and to announce her status.
But instead of that, she found out Freddie was taking Marguerite home to meet his parents!
This was unbearable!
The more Yuna thought about it, the angrier she got. Throwing down the thermos, she hurried home, seeking Zoeâs advice.
Her face full of spite, she asked, âMom! Freddieâs fallen for Marguerite. Heâs even taking her home to meet his parents. What do we do?â
Zoe clenched Yunaâs wrist, her eyes sharp, âLooks like itâs time to play our trump card.â
Yuna paused, âYou mean, the thing about Marguerite being pregnantâ¦â
Before she could finish, Zoe put a finger to her lips, nodded meaningfully, and said, âThis time, Iâll make her wish she were dead.â
