Chapter 117
Bride Behind The Mask
The sound of major hurting echoed from the bathroom.
Laverne was the first to snap out of it, quickly running into the bathroom, constantly patting Margueriteâs back.
âDid you get food poisoning or something? I told you to slow down on the eating!â
Hurl-
She didnât even have time to answer Laverneâs question when Marguerite started puking again, everything she had just eaten coming right back up.
Eventually, there was nothing left to puke up, just some green stomach acid.
Thatâs when Marguerite spotted a glass of water. Following the direction of the glass, she saw Frederickâs stoically handsome face.
âWhat happened?â
The manâs tone was emotionless, but Marguerite knew he was displeased.
After rinsing her mouth with the water, she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and made up an excuse. âMiley made me some green beans this afternoon. I had some, but they werenât fully cooked.â
Frederick frowned, his tone slightly cold, âMiley?â
Marguerite explained with her head down, âThe friend I told you about who just came back from abroad, thatâs her.â
âOh my god, you can get poisoned from eating undercooked green beans!â Laverne exclaimed, then quickly looked at Marguerite, âAre you okay, Marguerite? Feeling dizzy? Marguerite glanced at Frederick guiltily, then weakly shook her head, âI donât feel anything. I felt better after I threw up.â
The truth was it was morning sickness, Marguerite knew this very well.
Sheâs only been pregnant for a month, the symptoms are still mild. She was worried that the symptoms would get worse and arouse Frederickâs suspicion.
Marguerite was somewhat scared, especially Frederickâs sharp gaze made her even more nervous.
Afraid of exposing herself, she made up an excuse, âI just threw up, Iâm going to take a bath.â
The moment Marguerite left, Frederick wanted to follow.
Seeing Margueriteâs demeanor when she left, Laverne guessed that she probably didnât want to be disturbed right now.
So, she quickly blocked Frederickâs way.
âWhere are you going, Frederick?â
Frederick watched as Marguerite headed towards the staircase, not saying a word.
Laverne could see what he was thinking, âI know you want to go upstairs to see Marguerite, but sheâs going to take a bath, what are you going up there for?â. Frederickâs eyes were full of worry, left speechless by Laverneâs words.
âIâve been here for three days, and I observed for three days. I noticed that no matter what Marguerite does, you always give her an extra glance. I am curious, do you like Marguerite, or do you like Yuna?â
Laverne may be a bit nutty, but her words always hit the nail on the head, not considering Frederickâs dignity at all.
âI promised Yuna once that I would marry her.â
âWhat do you mean?â Laverne asked him, âAre you planning to divorce Marguerite and then marry Yuna? Frederick, I donât want to criticize you, but looking at your current situation, youâll hurt Yuna. I wonât hand my beloved granddaughter over to you.â
âI wonât let Yuna get hurt, and I can protect you too.â Frederick said.
âProtect me? Donât make me laugh!â Laverne laughed exaggeratedly, rolling her eyes, deciding to test him.
âI was very beautiful when I was young, a lot of people chased me! Even though Iâm old now, I still have charm, it would be dangerous if men were fighting over me. By the way. have you seen how I looked when I was young?â
