What's That Supposed To Mean? - Werewolf Romance
I'M BACK!
Sorry, I've been kind of busy and all that, haven't been home this week. A couple of relatives came to visit and blablabla and soooo on. Whatever, here's chapter 5! :D

Chapter 5
âWhere is your daughter, Mr. Riley?â he said, trying to sound polite. He was much calmer than I thought, but then again, he had a lot of respect for my dad, no doubt.
âIn her room. Want to come in?â my dad asked. I gaped at him, knowing for sure now that he was doing this on purpose. It was quiet for a moment and then more huffs.
âNo thanks. Iâll just talk to her another time,â Noah said calmly. âGoodnight.â
âBye, Noah. Have a nice evening!â my dad said and shut the door. He was about to talk but I put my finger over my lips, waiting a while. When half a minute passed, I removed my finger and nodded.
âDad!â I said, chuckling. âI canât believe you!â
He laughed, shaking his head. âThat boy will not play nice if you did something bad, Sam. You know that right?â
âOh I know. And I wonât play nice either. I have my plans, daddy, donât worryâ¦â
âOh, theyâre plans, alright. Crazy plans,â Arianna said, making me laugh when I thought about the earlier situation with Nicole and Noah. âIâm afraid to go home now!â
I laughed again. This was just too funny. But now I had to make sure Noah didnât see me. I just had to look out for him before going somewhere and doing something. That way, heâll never have the chance to tell me off. My dad, amused, shook his head and offered to walk her to her house. After all, her house was just ten steps, not even, away.
Noah Black
Five days had passed and still no sign of Samantha. Itâs like she never left the house but sometimes she did because when I had gone to see if she was home, her father said she wasnât and he was not lying because he always told me when she was home. She just didnât come down.
I wasnât mad about the whole Nicole thing anymore. I just wanted to make sure she knew that she shouldnât do it again and if she did, sheâd pay. Because Iâm a guy and I need some stuff, which in this town is easy to get if youâre me, but still, unacceptable. Nicole was mine and not hers to play with. And what Sandy and diners?! She hasnât even been here a week and already on the second day she had managed to send home a girl. What exactly did she learn in New York?
I was home, in the living room, half sitting half lying on the couch while thinking. I didnât notice Mason come in until a pillow hit my face. I growled, throwing it back at him.
âWhat do you want?â I said, a bit too aggressive. I had drifted away a little bit, from everyone and I knew I shouldnât but it just happened. I did what I had to do and they what they had to do. I wasnât the Alpha yet; so as long as I wasnât, I was using my freedom.
âMan, chill,â Mason said, sitting down on the armchair. He just sat there in silence, staring at me.
âWhat do you want?â I repeated.
âI live here, too, you know. Now shut up and get back to crying over your life.â
âI wasnât crying you stupid idiot, I was thinking.â
âNo, you were crying.â
âI wasnât- ugh. Whatever.â I got up, knowing he just did this to annoy me. Whenever I was home, all they did was piss me off just because I was home. Otherwise I was out, even if it was right outside the house. I heard the front door open and looked up, waiting. Victor, the only person outside family that was like my brother and the one I told everything, walked in, a grin on his face.
âGuess who I just saw?â he said. I knew exactly who he meant. I had told him about Samanthaâs little scene and that she was hiding from me now. I sat up immediately.
âYouâre kidding? Where?â
âShe just went home, but I heard her tell Arianna that she was coming out in a few minutes. You have your chance, bro,â he said still grinning.
âHell yes,â I said as I got up and started walking out with him.
âNoah, if you touch Sam, Iâm going to kill you with my own hands, you hear me?â Mason said from behind me. I rolled my eyes.
âHow family of you. Killing your own brother for a girl.â
âSheâs not just a girl and you know what I mean, dickhead. Sheâs done nothing to you.â
âYou donât know a crap,â I muttered, loud enough for him to hear, and walked out with Victor.
Victor and I had grown up together; he and his father had been in our pack since we were born and throughout the years, Victor and I became best friends and brothers and stayed like that. Just like that little Arianna. I bet they tell each other everything. I bet they even talked about me and all the girls I bring. âHe does this and he does that and he is this and he is thatâ, thatâs probably how theyâre going on and on about me. But hey, Iâm not complaining; I like the attention.
âYou sure she hasnât gone already?â I asked as we hid on the side of my house, peeking over to look at the front doors of Ariannaâs and Samanthaâs houses. âMaybe she saw you, tricked you and ran back to Arianna.â
âHave I ever been wrong about these kinds of things?â Was Victorâs reply. And he was right. Whenever we had been up to something and he had seen or found something out, he was never wrong about time and place.
We stood there for a while, though, and I was starting to get restless. Just when I was going to tell him that we should just find her another time, her door opened and my eyes immediately snapped to her. The first thing, as Iâm a guy, I noticed was what she was wearing on that smoking hot body. I still canât believe that the tomboy Sam came back as the girl Samantha. She was wearing tight black jeans, showing of every curve. She wore a white and black striped fitted t-shirt and her hair was up in a sexy bun, some loose strands hanging down. I loved it when girls had those sexy buns.
âMan she looks hot,â Victor whispered, voicing my thoughts. I nodded. She walked down the porch stairs and while she was walking over to Ariannaâs, I pulled Victor with me, behind my house, and then to the other side of my house. I did the same again: behind Ariannaâs house and then to the other side of her house, now standing next to Samanthaâs house too. I had to be here or sheâd probably think about running straight inside her house again.
âLetâs go,â I whispered. We stepped out, Victor and I, placing ourselves next to each other, arms crossed. She was only a few feet away from us and a few feet away from the front door to Ariannaâs. She stopped as soon as we stepped out, which, if you ask me, was a little bit creepy. As if sheâd known exactly when we appeared.
She slowly turned around, her head first. Her eyes became slightly wide when she saw me but she put on that natural face again. A small smile formed on her lips. What the hell? She wasnât supposed to smile or look smug! She was supposed to want to run! What was going on with this chick?
âOh,â she said. âHi.â
Hi? Really? You sent home my lay for the night, five days ago, and you say hi? What was she playing at? I took a step forward, Victor still behind me. He didnât move, he just stood there, amused, watching.
âItâs funny,â I said. âYou kind of disappeared these last few days. How come?â
âOh, you know,â she shrugged,â busy life.â
âYes⦠I know. I had a date, not so long ago, you know⦠getting ready and all that. Looking forward to the evening. Something happened, though. Someone sent her off.â
She scoffed, almost laughing at me.
ââLooking forward to the eveningâ? You looked forward to getting laid and we all know it so donât be a girl and man up. Get a new girl. Isnât that what you always do?â
I felt anger building up inside me.
Samantha Riley
ââLooking forward to the eveningâ? You looked forward to getting laid and we all know it so donât be a girl and man up. Get a new girl. Isnât that what you always do?â I said, almost spat, and waited for his reply.
He was so stupid, thinking that I cared about his little anger issues. Okay, so he had waited for me, actually waited! For what? To tell me to back off? As if I didnât know that already. But I donât care. I do what I want and if it pisses him off, then so be it. Itâs exactly what he does to the rest of us who live around him.
âYou donât know anything,â he said in calm anger. I knew him inside and out, so well. I knew how angry he was. Whenever he was about to blow up, he was calm. Creepy, I know. But he was. Really calm, too calm sometimes. And thatâs when I always used to know that it was time to run. Now I didnât run. I stood my ground because this asshole had to get it in his head that he was an idiot.
âNo, I donât. But I donât care,â I said casually. He took one step closer. Another one.
âYou should know not to mess with me or what I do. Donât get into my business. If I want to get laid, and get mad if I donât, let me. Donât get involved.â He looked so serious at first and then he smirked! âUnless you want to pay me back for sending that chick home?â
âPay you back? By sleeping with you? Honey, that can only happen in your dreams, if even there. You,â I said, pointing at him,â are not worthy,â pointing at me,â worthy of this.â
He was close now, which I hadnât realized. He smelled good, if anything. And his face looked even better up close. But, not irrelevant right now, Samantha. He kept staring at me, in my eyes and after a while it freaked me out. It felt like he was staring into my freaking soul. I took a step back.
âIf youâre done, Iâm going to leave now,â I said, still a little surprised from his look. He seemed to know something, to think something; because he got that smug face that I knew I did when he came just a few minutes ago.
âFeel free,â he said, waving towards the front door to Ariannaâs house. He took some slow steps back to Victor â who I realized, I hadnât even said hello to or seen since I had come back â, all the while staring at me.
âHi, Victor,â I said, smiling and waving. Victor smiled back, waving as if none of this had just happened. He looked amused, if anything. Noah didnât seem bothered by Victorâs and I little hello and finally, they left. I pulled the door open and went quickly inside to Ariannaâs house, shutting it hard behind me.
âAri?â I called out. I walked to the living room and found it empty.
âIn the kitchen!â
I hurried over to the kitchen, immediately sitting down on the closest chair. Arianna turned around with a big smile but when she looked at me, her brows furrowed.
âHe almost found you?â she guessed, sitting down. I shook my head.
âNo, he found me,â I said, chuckling. âIt was out of nowhere and Victor was with him.â
âWhat?â She burst out laughing. âDid he yell at you?â
âNo, the opposite. He was calmly angry.â
âOh⦠The calm ones are the worst ones. What did he say?â
I told her the scene from beginning to end and it wasnât much at all. I just wondered if he really was finished or if he was going to continue playing the game. I didnât know, but if he was, I was.
Two hours later, I went back home again. It was ten oâclock and the sky was almost black. Stars were already showing. It was beautiful, the sky. I decided to come out and watch the stars after spending some time with my dad. I walked in to the house and found my dad in the kitchen after checking the rooms. He was sitting there, all alone and all serious. I didnât bother taking my shoes and my jacket off; instead I sat down too.
âDad? Whatâs wrong?â I asked. I could see it was nothing serious with pack business, like an attack or death or something. But it didnât seem to be anything in the family or friends, either⦠He looked up, staring for a while before talking.
âHoney,â he began, already making me nervous. The âhoneyâ never seemed to sound good in situations like these. âThere is something I want to talk to you about.â
âIs it serious? Is it something I did?â I asked, not being able to hold the questions in. He had to warn and prepare me before telling me. He shook his head.
âPretty serious and no, you havenât done anything. Itâs more of an⦠responsibility.â
âDid I not clean the house right? Iâll do it right now if you want me to.â I chuckled at his face. âDad please just tell me, youâre killing me here.â
âWell, you were gone for five years and through these years, John and I were discussing what to do with the packs. He has his own pack and I have my own pack but everyone knows itâs like one pack anyway. And Noah got the Alpha Blood gene as youâve known for all these years. This year, itâs time, though. He will be Alpha but the two packs becoming one is too big for only one Alpha.â
He looked at me, searching for something in my eyes and on my face. I didnât understand why he was telling me this but I was smart enough to understand it had something to do with me. And I wasnât sure I wanted to hear it just yet.
âDad?â I said, unsure of what his answer would be.
âWell⦠Since youâre my only child and obviously got the Alpha Blood gene⦠You will be the female Alpha and you will, together with Noah, lead the packs once they become one.â
