Chapter 43
This time I woke up the right way. The sun was up, the sky was bright and blue and the smell of pancakes filled my nose. Who could say no to that? But on the other hand... sleep and Noah was perfect. And his scent was delicious, just like the pancakes.
I groaned.
âWhat?â Noah asked, his morning voice husky and low. See? How could I choose?
âI'm debating whether to go down and eat pancakes or stay here with you,â I explained, talking against the pillow, my words muffled.
âThat should be easy.â
âMm.. you're right. See you later.â
I pushed myself up to go, only to be pulled back down. I laughed, hugging his bare torso. How he had gotten his shirt of, I don't know or care, all I knew was how soft his skin was and how I loved my hands on his muscly chest.
âI hate you,â he mumbled into his pillow, his arm holding me there.
âFeeling's mutual, babe,â I said, shutting my eyes, ready for more sleep.
âOKAY, RISE AND SHINE SLEEPYHEADS!â
Now here's what happened that same second that Jacob decided to kick down the door and shout on top of his lungs:
Noah got so startled that he fell down on the floor, the sheets following him, and then hit his head but not only that, he decided to take me down with him and so I fell down, on top of him first and then I rolled off of him and to the floor. Now we were stuck in these stupid sheets on the floor.
Oh right, and that's when Jacob decided it would be fun to laugh like a fucking hyena.
âJACOB!â Noah roared, making me feel like the entire house just shook. Wait- Jacob? Jacob!!!
âJACOB!â I screamed in happiness. Noah and I both tried to get out of the sheets and up on our legs and as soon as we were, Jacob ran out, limping, and down the stairs, as fast as he could with his leg that was wrapped in a bandage.
âJake, wait up, I want to hug you!â I shouted as he ran out through the front door, Noah and I after him.
âJake, I'm going to kill you!â Noah yelled.
âHelp! Help me someone!â Jacob screamed as we ran around in big circles on the front yard. Almost everyone from our pack were looking at us, either from outside or from their windows. The Black house and Arianna's house emptied as they all came out to see what was going on.
âJake, come on!â I shouted once again.
âJake, you're going to die!â Noah yelled.
âWhat the hell is going on?â Mason asked loudly.
âI don't know!â Jacob screamed like a girl, all of us still running, Noah and I chasing Jake. âOne wants to kill me and the other wants to love me! They're crazy!â
âJACOB!â Noah and I yelled in unison just as both jumped and, poor him, attacked him to the ground. Oh, and remember that he was hurt from yesterday? Yep, we probably just made it worse.
âOh my god! They have me! Take them off of me!â
I laughed as I hugged him hard while Noah was screaming in his face.
âIf you EVER do that again, I am going to choke you with my bare hands! You know I like my sleep!â
âYou need help!â Jacob screamed back, well at least he tried. Noah didn't have to choke him, I was already choking him with my hug.
Okay, I'll admit it, I was having really fun killing him.
âOkay, enough, enough..!â Mason said as he and Victor helped to get us off of Jacob. Arianna was cracking up but she helped Jacob up anyways, her shoulders shaking with laughter and her eyes watering.
âYou two are crazy! I understand why Mother Nature put you two together!â he cried out.
I looked at him innocently while Noah glared at him.
âI'm glad you're finally okay,â I said, more serious now, with a smile. Jacob tried to breathe normally as he nodded and smiled back.
âThank you. I am too. Now get your psycho boyfriend away, please.â
I laughed, taking Noah by the hand and leading him back inside.
âNoah, let's go freshen up,â I said, still laughing.
âKill him,â Noah muttered as we walked up the stairs and back to his room.
âOkay, everyone!â I heard Mason call out. âShow's over. We just had a little... morning breakdown! Thanks for watching, come back tomorrow at ten o'clock sharp!â
Noah and I calmed down, me from laughing and him from muttering and glaring at the floor, and I smiled at him. He looked at me and smiled, breathing out the last chaotic breath. He pulled me closer and gave me a long lazy kiss.
âWe need to shower,â he said against my lips. I nodded. âTogether.â
I screamed, laughing, as he in a split second was carrying me over his shoulder to the bathroom.
30 minutes later
âWhat the hell took you so long?â Arianna asked, her mouth stuffed with pancakes. Noah and I exchanged looks and looked back at them innocently. Theo and Leo had knowing smirks on their faces and Mason made a freaked out face. Jacob, figuring it all out and being the commentator in this family, immediately spoke.
âEW! Dammit you two! Get your own house! Disgusting animals...!â
Noah just laughed, patting Jake on the head as he took a seat by the table. I chuckled, walking over to Ari and putting some pancakes on my plate.
âGet a place,â Jacob muttered.
âGet a mate,â Noah shot back, smirking. Jacob narrowed his eyes and I grinned knowingly at him, remembering his secret.
âShut up and eat already,â Thresh interrupted, mouth full of pancakes and blueberry.
âSo, there's a party tonight,â Mason spoke up after a while. We all frowned at him, the only one who didn't was my father who looked like he already knew. I wanted to laugh at his concentration on his pancakes.
âA party?â Arianna asked.
âWhere?â Leo asked.
âWho?â Theo added. These twins always spoke together, always. The day I will see or hear just one of them, I'll jump from a mountain, no joke.
âWell,â Mason began. âYou know the small pack that joined us a while ago? Warren, Michael, Chad, the girls?â
We all nodded and Noah and I exchanged an amused glance at the mention of Michael. Mason continued.
âSo one of the girls, Stephanie, is turning eighteen today so she's having a party, like, a real party. She has the mansion all night and the party starts at eight so you better get ready soon. Dress up.â
Caleb almost choked.
âThe Mansion? The one that is on the hill?â
âYep, the mansion.â
âWoah!â Leo and Theo's eyes were almost falling out and in to their gaping mouths.
âHow come we didn't know about this earlier?â I asked, frowning. I didn't even know if I had a suitable dress for this.
âI forgot to tell you.â Mason said sheepishly and we shot him quick glares. âOh, and one more thing. â He shot my father an evil grin. âIt's for the younger part of the pack only. Twentyfive and down.â
That sure turned everyone's glares around and we were now all grinning evilly, mostly at my dad. I laughed at his scared yet serious face. He waved a finger at us.
âNo stupid things.â His eyes stayed on me for a second longer and Mason chuckled. This was going to be good. No parents, no oldies, just us young partyanimals.
Well, at least something fun was happening. Arianna and I exchanged looks, understanding each other immediately. We finished our breakfast in one minute and put the plates in the sink. The guys looked at us questioningly.
âI may be Samantha but I need to get a dress and get ready, people,â I defended, knowing that being overly girly wasn't my thing and that everyone knew that. Arianna just shrugged.
âAnd I'm Arianna and we all know I need my time.â
We waved goodbye as we walked out with grin on our faces and out of the house. We hurried over to her house and ran up to her room. Aunt Bianca laughed at us, already knowing what we were up to. It wasn't always we had a party here, so.
Arianna opened up her closet and we walked inside, looking around. She clapped her hands together.
âOkay! So. It's a birthday party, in a mansion, with great people, at night. I'm guessing there will be small cozy lights everywhere, good music, good food, good drinks. Like most parties, of course. So... a good old fashioned tight, strapless dress will look good on you.â
I smiled at her concentration, doing what she did best. Fashion, parties and everything else that was included was her job. I said nothing while she searched through her dresses. Her mind seemed set on one because she was going through them quickly. Finally she stopped, pulling out a short, fitting one-shoulder (the sleeve is long) dress in a black that ended mid-thigh and had âdiamondsâ on one side of the waist that went in like a âarrowâ to the navel (I have a picture of it on the side, look and you'll understand lol) and gave it to me before moving on to the shoes. She came out with a pair of nude colored high peep-toe heels. She was good, I'll admit it. Nothing big but she had a vision and she found it immediately.
âPut it on,â she ordered excitedly. I obeye and slipped off my clothes, pulling on the dress and putting on the heels. She had kept her eyes shut and when I was finished she opened. Her eyes widened and she grinned, a grin I knew very well. It meant success, happiness and pride, the look she got whenever she was finished with something that she had done good.
âThis is the outfit.â She nodded, staring at me and the dress and then the shoes. âI mean, those legs! Sam, you are sexy. Noah is going to die.â
I laughed out loud, shaking my head.
âWe'll see.â I winked at her and she laughed, starting to search for her own outfit. I took off the dress and put my clothes back on. I walked over to her to help her. âSo what do you see for yourself?â
âHm.. A strapless one. Coral... where are you... Got it!â She pulled it out and smiled, holding it to her body. I nodded impressively.
âYes. It's perfect for you.â
âGet me a pair of nudes for me, too, please.â
I nodded and went over to her shoes.
âPumps or peep-toe?â
âUm... I'll go for the pumps.â
I nodded, grabbing them and giving them over. She changed into her outfit and it was my turn to gape. Honestly, everyone knew Arianna was hot. I knew she was beyond hot. Aaron was literally going to swoon and I'm not saying this because she told me pretty much the same things, but because it's true.
âArianna Riley,â I breathed. âI just have one thing to say... I don't want to know what you and Aaron are going to do during or after the party. Or during and after.â
Arianna laughed out loud but then gave me a serious flirty look.
âI'll give him something to remember.â
I scrunched up my nose.
âEw... You two are probably weird and kinky.â
This time we both burst out laughing and she put her normal clothes back on.
âYou're crazy, Sam. You and Noah are probably worse. He's probably all bossy and-â
âWhat! No he's not!â I defended while laughing uncontrollably. Now that we both had mates, making fun of each other's love lives (yes, and the other life) came naturally. âHe's perfectly fine! Exactly like I want him to be.â
âYeah, I bet your wish is that he's bossy and angry and all over the place,â she said with a sly grin.
âAngry?â I laughed. âWhy the hell would I want him to be angry and bossy? That does not turn me on.â
âOh we know that, you punch those guys to death. Wouldn't want you to punch him in the middle of having se-â
âOkay! Shut up!â I interrupted with a laugh as I heard Aunt Bianca's footsteps on the stairs, coming up. Though, it didn't matter if we talked or not, if she wanted to, she could just choose to listen with her werewolf hearing and we were busted. Hopefully, she didn't.
There was a knock on the door and she came inside with a smile. That smile meant nothing bad... From my experience.
âHey girls,â Aunt Bianca said, grinning. âI just wanted to tell you to be careful at the party and don't do stupid things. I'm going to be an awesome aunt and say that you have my permission to drink a little if you stay in the mansion all night. No wandering around, you got it?â
âYes sir!â Arianna and I said in unison. Then I realized what we said and quickly changed it into âMa'am.â
Aunt Bianca laughed and left us alone again. Arianna and I grinned, high fiving each other. This was going to be a good party.
