Chapter 10

7// ~Jitters~

Gentle Hearts (gxg)(poly)

After saying my goodbyes to my girls, I make my way outside and get in the car to go pick up Arabella, leaving them to finish getting dinner and the table ready.

She lives only about 15 minutes away, so I should be back home in around half an hour give or take.

Pulling out onto the road, I can't help but let my mind drift back to my previous texts with the precious girl I'm on my way to pick up.

The misspelled words, the exclamation points, the little emojis sprinkled throughout her texts. She's too cute.

Arriving at her house, I park the car and get out, my heels hitting the pavement, rhythmic tapping hitting my ears as a result.

I close the car door and adjust my jacket, making my way up to her front door.

I see her through the small window, sitting her bottom step, leg bouncing up and down, and a finger stuck inside her mouth, her teeth gnawing down on it repeatedly.

I can't help but feel bad that I'm the cause of her nervousness, but another part of me finds the sight cute.

I knock on the door lightly, knowing that I don't need to make it loud as she is sitting right at the entrance of the house, and take a step back from the door, sticking one hand in my pocket.

She pulls the door open slowly and hides behind it slightly, making me smirk.

"Hi honey."

"Hi." She whispers shyly, opening the door further until I can see her outfit.

Ethereal. Stunning. Breathtaking.

I feel as though there are no words to describe her right now, but that's the closest that I can get.

"You all ready for our dinner?" I ask her.

"Y-ya! Let me just go say bye to Grammy, y-you can come in if you want!"

I step over the threshold and into the small space that occupies the front of the house while she skips into the living room, hugging her grandmother and whispering her goodbyes.

I smile at the site.

Her grandmother follows behind her as she turns and walks towards me. I pull my hand out of my pockets and hold it out to shake her hand. "Daniella ma'am, it's nice to meet you." I smile at her.

She shakes my hand before placing it on Arabella's back, rubbing up and down. "Please, call me Elaine. Now, you guys have fun tonight, and take good care of my girl for me." She looks at me during her last part.

I nod sternly, ignoring the blush that spreads across Arabella's face as to not embarrass her more and make her feel shy. "Of course Elaine, she's in good hands."

She hugs Elaine one more time before turning towards me and stepping closer, her hands clasped tightly in front of her, just below her stomach.

I hold out my hand for her to grab, "Come on, you ready sweetie?"

She nods shyly and grabs my outstretched hand, skipping beside me as we make our way down the driveway.

I look over at her and see she has her other hand pulled up to her mouth, biting down her finger again. I reach over and grab her hand, pulling it away from her mouth. "Oh we don't want to do that sweetheart, you're gonna hurt your little fingers and we don't want that."

She looks up at me and squeaks out a sorry before placing her hand down her side, bunching up the fabric up her dress.

I walk her over to the passenger side of the car and open up her door, releasing her hand and allowing her to climb into the seat, before leaning over and buckling her in.

"Thank you!" She exclaims.

"You're very welcome."

I close the door and make my way around to the drivers side, opening the door and sitting down, turning the car on and buckling.

I start to back out of the driveway, peering over at her once we get on the road, looking for any signs of discomfort in her body language. Smiling when i find none.

"Our house is about 15 minutes away so it should be just a quick ride." I let her know, not wanting her to sit there, wondering when we would arrive.

She nods slightly and responds "okay." She pauses for a minute before building up the confidence to speak again. "So...what is your girlfriend's name."

I don't miss the way she uses the form singularly, but choose to ignore it, hoping that she just misspoke. I mean I did inform her over text that I had multiple. Knowing the little I did about her though I'm sure she wasn't used to being around anything like this, let alone any relationship at all.

"Well, their names are Athena and Morgan. They might seem a little...scary when you first meet them but trust me they really are sweet. There's no need to worry, alright?"

"Alright. Wait...you have two girlfriends?" She furrows her eyebrows and looks towards me, tilting her head to the side slightly.

I try and hold in my laugh the best I can, not wanting to embarrass her or make her feel like the question she asked was stupid. "Yes, i have two girlfriends. The relationship uses a lot of communication and trust, but any relationship needs that. It's not to different once you really understand it."

"Oh, that's cool!" She smiles and kicks her feet back and forth slightly, moving her head to look out the window as I drive.

Her response shocks me a little. I didn't think someone who was so...innocent, would take to something this quickly without judgment or at least a lot of curiosity, but I guess I was mistaken.

I turn on the radio for the last 10 minutes of the ride and we stay mostly quiet, making small talk here and there between songs.

Pulling up to the house 10 minutes later, I open the gate and drive in.

"Woahhhh" I hear from the passenger seat. "You guys live here? It's so...fancy, and big." Her mouth is hanging slightly open in shock.

"Ya we do." I laugh. "Why, you like it?" I tease her.

"Do I like it? What kind of question is that, oh my goodness I love it!" She bounces up and down slightly in her seat, squeezing her hands into fists and shaking them.

"Well I'm glad sweetheart." I smirk, parking the car in the garage and sending a quick text to the girls that we are home.

I step out of the car, going around to the passenger seat and opening her door. I put my hand out, allowing her to grab onto it to help her exit the car. To my surprise, she doesn't let go.

I close her door and lead her to the door that enters into the house. Looking over at her I see that her eyes have begun to slightly tear up and her grip on my hand tightens, pulling a little bit.

I stop in my tracks and turn around, blocking the view into the rest of the house and leaning down to her height.

"Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong sweetie. You can tell me."

I can tell she tries holding back her tears the best she can, biting on her lip while looking down at her shoes. I rub my hands up and down her shoulders waiting for her to gain the courage to speak.

"I'm...scared." She looks up at me and the look on her face breaks me.

"Oh honey, there's nothing that you need to be scared of. Can you tell me why you feel that way, huh?"

"I don't know." She shrugs. "What if...if they don't like me."

"Can I tell you a little secret?" I whisper in a low voice. She nods her head and looks me in the eyes. "Morgan and Athena are super, super excited to meet you." I drag my hands down her arms and grab onto onto her hands, holding them tight. "They've been talking about it allll day long, and they even planned out a special dinner, and went shopping for food they thought you would love, and they can't wait to see you."

"Really?" She sniffles, smiling a little bit, her eyes drying up.

"Promise." I hold out my pinky and she connects hers with mine, bringing it up to her mouth to kiss her thumb. I laugh and do the same. "So, what do you say, you ready to go in now?"

"Ya." She nods her head and smiles, looking up at me.

"What a brave girl." I kiss her forehead. "And remember I'm going to be with you the whole time okay?"

"Okay!"

"Alright then let's go." I walk into the kitchen, her following a few paces behind me. I'm not used to having to slow down my steps. Most people I hang around with are usually my height or taller, which is crazy considering I'm 1 inch away from 6 feet, but i guess it's just how my life's worked out.

"Here we are." I announce, seeing Athena and Morgan setting up the last few things on the table, the food already prepared and ready to eat.

They both up to me and give me a kiss before stepping back and looking at Arabella who has decided to semi-hide behind me.

"This must be the famous Arabella we've heard so much about." Morgan says, trying to get her to come out of her shell.

Athena speaks next. "It's lovely to meet you."

"You gonna say hi?" I tease her, pushing her in front of me a little.

"H-hi." She raises her hand that's not currently connected to mine and waves shyly at them, smiling slightly. "Thank you for...for having me over for dinner and everything." She looks down at her shoes after finishing the sentence.

Athena smiles at her. "Of course. We've heard such nice things about you we had to meet you for ourselves"

Arabella brings her other hand back behind her. She stands completely in front of me, her hands reaching behind her grabbing onto mine, twiddling with my fingers and rings adorning them.

"So, who's ready to eat?" Morgan asks.

"Mmhh looks delicious, let's all go sit down. Come on." I push her gently towards the table. She shuffles her feet before walking normally towards the table.

Athena sits down at the head of the table. Morgan to her right, Arabella to her left, and I sat down next to Arabella.

We are all very excited for this diner and to get to know Arabella better. I can tell this is going to be a night to remember.

This is what I envision Daniella, Athena, and Morgan to wear. I'm not going to do this every chapter because there is 3 of them and I'm very picky when choosing photos so it would take FORVER to try and find pictures for all of them all the time haha, but I figured I would do it for this one so you guys could get a feel for how they dress.

Daniella ^

Athena^

Morgan^

Arabella's outfit is in the last chapter, so you can go look back if you forgot!

I'm trying to write a little more, we'll see how it works out! I don't have a set schedule and I don't think I'm going to make one because some weeks I don't want to write at all and then some days I just want to write all day lol!

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! It's a little difficult sometimes to write from Daniella's perspective because I'm not like that in real life haha. I imagine it might be the same with Athena and Morgan's perspectives too.

Sorry if this is bad, I hope you guys like it though! Let me know if there's something specific you wants to see happen or if you have any ideas. Also do guys like the alternating point of views??

Okay, that's all, vote, comment, whatever you want! Bye bye!
