Chapter 891
Lord Protector Novel
Everyone gasped in realization upon hearing that.
âWe were so stupid! Why didnât we think of this earlier?â
âMurder is a crime that needs to be reported! Why were we so blind earlier on?â
âWayde, isnât your cousin Brent the director of the police station here? Why donât you get him to help?â
Wayde Jenkins nodded. âAlright, Iâll contact him now.â
He took out his phone and dialed Brent Jenkinsâ number. âHey, Brent? Could you help me out?â
...
At the police station, Brent Jenkins slammed his hand onto his desk and stood up upon hearing his cousinâs story. âScumbag!â
âWhat era does he think heâs living in? How dare he disrespect the rule of law?â Brent yelled, grinding his teeth together. âRest assured. Iâll deal with this.â
âRound up the riot police! Weâre going to arrest him!â
Over at Trust Media, Lacey and Zeke were in the middle of tidying up their office.
Lacey had a sorrowful expression on her face. âWeâve only been here for a couple of days, yet weâve been trashed two times already. Maybe Trust Media was never meant to be...â
âDonât worry, Lacey. As long as Iâm here, the whole of Eurasia will belong to us,â Zeke said in an attempt to comfort her.
Suddenly, a hoard of men came rushing in.
It was Brent Jenkins and his army of riot police.
Lacey stood rooted to the ground, a little confused.
Whyâs the police here? Itâs not like I called them or anything...
More importantly, why are there police officers in bulletproof vests?
âYou are...â She asked apprehensively.
Brent glanced at the two of them. âWhich one of you is Zeke Williams?â
âThat would be me.â
Zeke answered Brentâs question without even looking up from sweeping the floor.
Brent huffed before he continued, âZeke Williams, youâre under arrest for your suspected connections to a murder case.â
Lacey began to panic. âY-youâve gotten the wrong person!â
âZeke is just an employee at my company! He didnât kill anyone!â
âAll our evidence points towards him,â Brent said. âWeâll be the ones deciding if heâs guilty or not.â
That was when Zeke finally looked up.
He did not blame Brent for this; the latter was just executing his duties as a police officer.
The only person to blame would be himself, as he had neglected to inform the higher-ups of his actions beforehand.
âWhy donât you go back and take a good look at my particulars before arresting me?â He asked.
âI donât need you to tell me that,â Brent snarled.
It wos Brent Jenkins ond his ormy of riot police.
Locey stood rooted to the ground, o little confused.
Whyâs the police here? Itâs not like I colled them or onything...
More importontly, why ore there police officers in bulletproof vests?
âYou ore...â She osked opprehensively.
Brent glonced ot the two of them. âWhich one of you is Zeke Willioms?â
âThot would be me.â
Zeke onswered Brentâs question without even looking up from sweeping the floor.
Brent huffed before he continued, âZeke Willioms, youâre under orrest for your suspected connections to o murder cose.â
Locey begon to ponic. âY-youâve gotten the wrong person!â
âZeke is just on employee ot my compony! He didnât kill onyone!â
âAll our evidence points towords him,â Brent soid. âWeâll be the ones deciding if heâs guilty or not.â
Thot wos when Zeke finolly looked up.
He did not blome Brent for this; the lotter wos just executing his duties os o police officer.
The only person to blome would be himself, os he hod neglected to inform the higher-ups of his octions beforehond.
âWhy donât you go bock ond toke o good look ot my porticulors before orresting me?â He osked.
âI donât need you to tell me thot,â Brent snorled.
âLetâs go! Donât you dare try and resist arrest! Weâll only be nice to you if you cooperate.â
Zeke decided to give in to their request as he had no other options.
He needed to talk to Brent anyway.
Lacey grew more anxious when she saw Zeke being led away by the police officers. âZeke! Youâre innocent, right?â
Zeke smiled at her. âDo you trust me, Lacey?â
âYes, of course!â Lacey replied, nodding.
âAlright then. Wait for me.â
Lacey took a deep breath and said with much determination, âDonât worry, Zeke. If anyone dares frame you for this, Iâll go after them myself.â
âAlright,â Zeke replied before he was whisked away by the riot police.
Cobra could see Zeke being led away by the police from his spot outside the office.
Damian must have alerted the police.
There are a hundred lost lives Zeke Williams must be punished for!
Heâs definitely going down this time around!
However, that would mean he would not get a chance to break Zekeâs bones anymore.
Cobra grinned as he crawled over to one of the officers. âSir, I would like to lodge a report against Zeke Williams.â
âHe broke my legs through violent means, and he must be punished for that!â
