Peter glared at Sage and apologized to Joseph, âSorry you had to see that, Mr. Zelly. Those are distant relatives of ours. Weâre barely related. Theyâre a bunch of lazy people who are struggling to make ends meet. They came over to see if we can provide for them.â
Joseph smiled. âI understand. Even if youâre rich, itâs inevitable if you have street rats as relatives.â
âHahaha!â The Walters family burst out into laughter.
Peter then said, âMr. Zelly, ignore them. Letâs continue talking about business.â
âSure!â
Joshua was on the verge of breaking down.
These people are ingrates!
When Joshuaâs family was doing well in Atheville five years ago, Peterâs family were but a bunch of poor farmers from the countryside. They had brought their family to Atheville to seek help from Joshua, who gave them a few assets out of pity even though they were not closely related.
Those were the businesses Peter was running now, including this villa.
After that, when the four major households seized all of Joshuaâs assets, Peter broke all ties with them to avoid the scourge.
Now that Joshua was in trouble, they did not offer them aid, humiliating them instead.
How cruel!
