Chapter 736
Lord Protector Novel
After walking out of the company, Zeke let Dawn get into the car first. He stood in front of the company and whistled shrilly.
Laceyâs personal bodyguard, Hadley Murphy, came running. âWhatâs up, hot stuff?â
Zeke commanded, âChase Bank has its eyes on Linton Group. Protect my wife properly, and donât let anyone catch us off guard.â
Hadley replied, âChase Bank? Williams, youâre in trouble. In Eastend, Chase Bank is only second to Mr.
Quin. Itâs even more renowned than our own Necromancer Assassin Organization. The odds arenât really the best. But donât you worry; if you die, Iâll take good care of Lacey.â
Zeke could feel a headache coming. âJust you wait. Iâll force you back into the closet one day.â
Hadley scoffed. âDonât even think about it. Even if I were straight, itâs not like I would like you, anyway!â
Zeke didnât feel like arguing with Hadley, so he hurriedly got into the car.
Halfway through, he called Caleb Nolan. âMr. Nolan, do you remember me?â
Caleb laughed gleefully immediately after he answered. âMr. Williams, how could I forget the threat of a man who managed to gobble up Reagan Pharmaceutical in such a short time? Of course, I remember you.â
Zeke hummed. âGood. I have something Iâm looking to discuss with you. Are you free at the moment?â
Caleb replied, âEven if I wasnât, Iâd still make time to meet the infamous Mr. Williams.â
Ten minutes later, they met at Restaurant Baileyâs.
Caleb seemed as modest and humble as ever as he filled Zeke and Dawnâs glasses automatically. âMr.
Williams, Ms. Castaneda, please have a seat.â
Zeke immediately asked, âMr. Nolan, someone has been transferring money into our accounts out of nowhere recently. Would you possibly know anything about this?â
Caleb simply smiled. âIs that so? Isnât that a good thing? Congratulations, Mr. Williams.â
Zeke laughed humorlessly. âMr. Nolan, you truly are a master at acting like a fool.â
Caleb didnât provide him with an answer. Instead, he offered a cigarette to Zeke. âMr. Williams, would you like a puff?â
Zeke raised an eyebrow. âCaleb, these two transactions have something to do with Chase Bank, donât they?â
Caleb just changed the topic. âAh, Mr. Williams, didnât you say you had something you wanted to discuss with me about? What business could that be?â
Zeke replied, âMoney laundering.â
âThatâs great! Iâm known to be pretty good at that,â Caleb answered. âHowever, donât you think this place is a little too simple to be discussing such things? If you donât mind, how about you come over to my place for a little chat?â
Zeke nodded. âSure.â
The three of them got up to leave.
Suddenly, Caleb looked at Dawn with a sheepish smile. âMs. Castaneda, my house is in a bit of a mess right now. I donât think a young girl like yourself would enjoy visiting, so-â
Zeke smiled as he cut him off. âWhy donât you just tell us the truth and quit twisting corners?â
Caleb smiled awkwardly. âWell, Mr. Williams, you have Linton Group behind you, and that means you have the privilege to go to my house. As for Ms. Castaneda, sheâs just one of your subordinates. She has no right to step into my home.â
Zeke pulled a Bauhinia Royal Card out of his pocket and waved it in front of Calebâs face before tucking it into Dawnâs pocket. âDoes she have the right to now?â
Calebâs eyes shone.
A Bauhinia Royal Card? How could he own such a thing?
Caleb had only ever seen it once before when a literal prince had used it.
In order to have such a card, Zeke Williams must have a much more intricate identity than merely the CEO of Linton Group.
He nodded fervently. âOf course! Ms. Castaneda, if youâll follow me.â
Caleb brought the two of them to the real estate department located on the underground 10th floor of Chase Bankâs headquarters.
Dawn was practically set in stone. Her mouth gaped so wide that one could probably fit a whole egg in it.
She was really learning a lot from this.
Not once in her life had she ever heard of an underground bank.
âZeke, why arenât you surprised at all?â
âWhat do I have to be surprised about?â
