Chapter 568
Lord Protector Novel
âOh? May I know why itâs urgent?â Jacob questioned.
âThe loan from Chase Bank is due today. Iâm going to need the money to pay it back.â
âReally? Why is it so soon? Itâs only been five days.â
âBeats me. How come you didnât know the allotted time of the loan is five days?â
Jacob was a bit angry now. âYouâre being a bit unfair now, Mr. Williams. Youâre the one who signed the contract. So how could I know?â
âNever mind. Letâs stop the chit-chatting, just transfer the money to me now.â
Jacob sighed. âAll this while youâve been having fun and never paid attention to the company, Mr.
Williams.â
âThe companyâs account only has five hundred now. If youâre in a hurry, I can lend you one thousand from my personal account.â
Zeke frowned. âWhere did the two billion go?â
âTheyâre all used to repay the suppliers and distributers,â said Jacob.
âDidnât we only owe them a billion? Have you spent the remaining billion?â
âOh, not only did we have to pay the debts, but we also had to compensate for the breach of contract.
Hence, all two billion was used.â
Zeke inhaled deeply. âGreat! Just great!â
âMr. Williams, does this mean that you canât get me the money?â Caleb asked cynically.
âThat wonât do. Youâre making things difficult on my end. What if Chase Bank blames it on me? I canât bear that huge of a responsibility.â
Upon hearing Caleb voice, Jacob hurriedly said, âCaleb, youâre there? What a coincidence. You see, I have a good relationship with Mr. Williams. Can you allow him a few days of grace period for my sake?â
âHmm. I wish I could. But Iâm only an employee of Chase Bank. Even if I want to give you a few days of grace, the bank surely wonât agree to it.â
âInstead of thinking about this, both of you should think about ways to get me the money.â
âCaleb, canât you do it even for my sake?â Jacobâs voice turned cold.
âEven siblings separate matters between business and family, let alone cousins.â Caleb replied.
âFine. I really didnât deem you as a self-centered person and not making any allowances for your relativeâs needs. Iâm telling you; I will not stand by and do nothing.â
âMr. Williams, why donât you transfer this debt to me. I refuse to believe that heâd be this merciless to his cousin.â
Zeke felt like laughing to death.
If these two collaborated on stage, their performance would be wonderful.
âNo problem. I shall transfer this debt to you then,â he frankly agreed. âCaleb, go settle this debt with that cousin of yours.â
âDo you think itâd be that easy?â Caleb asked.
âThe loan was made to Reagan Pharmaceutical, and youâre the major shareholder of said company.
According to the rules, I have to get the money from you. Unless you give up the position as the major shareholder to him.â
âMr. Williams, your fifty percent of shares are not worth 2.5 billion,â Jacob uttered. âIf you transfer the equity to me, I can help you bear the arrears, and youâll not suffer a financial loss.â
Clap clap clap!
Zeke suddenly clapped his hands.
Jacob, who was on the other end of the phone thought that they started fighting.
âCaleb! Did you f***ing hit Mr. Williams?!â he pretended to defend Zeke.
âNo. Zekeâs clapping his hands,â Caleb replied.
âHuh? Why?â Jacob asked, feeling confused.
âBecause your act is too wonderful. I canât help but clap for you,â Said Zeke.
âAll in all, what youâre trying to do here is take my equity away. Am I right?â
Caleb felt embarrassed for he didnât expect their plan to get exposed.
But Jacob didnât feel even the slightest guilt. Instead, he became even more aggravated.
