Chapter 456
Lord Protector Novel
However, it wasnât long before they changed their thoughts.
Soon, Nancy showed up with a small cart with a big smile on her face. âQuick, put them in the cart! We can carry all of them in one go.â
â...â Dawn was flabbergasted.
âNancy, what happened to you? Where are your principles?â
âThis has nothing to do with principles. I am only afraid that all this money might block the entrance,â
Nancy justified herself.
âI like your cheek,â Zeke remarked. Though I must agree that this huge pile of cash is indeed clogging up the traffic.
Hadley was staring at the pile of cash. Suddenly, something crossed her mind, and she scolded Freya and the others, âDamn, you are all traitors! Itâs not worth working with you guys.â
âNow, I want my money back! Iâm not gonna waste my time on you guys.â
âYour money? What money are you talking about?â Solomon and the others played dumb.
âDonât play dumb with me!â Hadley was not buying it as she retorted, âWhereâs the one billion that I gave you to stabilize the stock market? Give it back to me now.â
Solomon shook his head. âIâm sorry but Iâve never seen your money.â
Then, she turned to face Ox. âOx, have you seen the one billion?â
âOne billion? Nope, never seen it.â Ox couldnât look more clueless.
âFinn, Larry, did you guys pocket the money?â
âNo, we didnât,â denied the both of them.
âNo idea.â
âNever seen it.â
Hadley was left fuming.
These ba****ds! They are obviously lying through their teeth!
It looks like they are going to welsh on the agreement no matter what.
It is one freaking billion we are talking about! Thatâs my lifetime savings!
These ba****ds have used up all my savings to gratify Zeke?
F*** these shameless punks!
Now she finally realized that Hades had faked his death in order to gull her into forking out the money.
Of course, this was not the truth. Zeke couldnât care less about the money.
For Zeke, one billion was just a petty amount of money.
His purpose was to lure all of Logan Hughâs underlings.
Now it seemed that his plan had worked. At least they managed to lure the Necromancer Assassin Organization out.
Hadley glowered at Zeke as she said, âZeke Williams, youâre getting on my last nerve. This is war!â
âYou know what?â Zeke snarled as he crushed an ant beneath his foot. âTo me, youâre nothing more than a tiny little ant.â
Hadley countered, âHuh, donât forget Iâm not alone. I have an army with me.â
âOh, what army?â Zeke seemed to be intrigued.
âNe...â Hadley almost let the cat out of the bag.
âNone of your business!â She gave him a put-off before the word âNecromancerâ escaped her mouth.
Zeke would have the perfect reason to arrest her if she ever claimed to be a member of the Necromancer Assassin Organization.
Zeke was obviously disappointed that Hadley sidestepped his question.
Hadley rolled her eyes at Zeke and left.
Zeke shifted his gaze to Emily. âEmily Clemons, itâs pretty daring of you to force my wife to transfer the ownership of the Linton Group to you. Looks like you havenât learnt your lesson. Itâs the worst mistake of my life to let you off for the previous times.â
Emilyâs facial expression was a mixture of fury and terror.
On one hand, she was angry at Logan for screwing up such a perfect plan.
On the other hand, she was afraid of Zeke, as the latter was supported by Hades, a man who was powerful enough to crush her like an ant.
Emily took a deep breath and regained her composure. She decided that it was time to beat a hasty retreat.
Emily grabbed Madeleineâs hand and was about to leave.
âYouâre not going anywhere!â Zeke roared.
