Chapter 1324
Lord Protector Novel
Zeke remained unbothered. âAre you accusing me of forgery now? I could sue you for libel.â
At that moment, someone else timidly sounded out an idea. âWell, thereâs one way to sort this out. Why donât we just call the legal department of the Third Military Factory, and have them verify if these documents are real?â
Everyone expressed agreement to this idea.
Clyde quickly took out his phone and called the legal department of the Third Military Factory.
The person at the other end picked up almost immediately. Clyde turned on the speaker so everyone could listen to their conversation.
Clydeâs voice rang across the silent room. âMay I know if Zeke Williams is the legal representation of your company?â
The office worker replied, âZeke Williams? Iâm afraid not.â
Everyone burst into laughter.
Those documents were fake, after all.
Zeke Williams was quite brave to have pulled a stunt like this.
The Hintons and the Williamses were red with embarrassment.
What was Zeke thinking? He had underestimated Clydeâs intelligence by stooping to such a childish trick.
However, Zeke was undeterred. Raising his voice so the person on the other end of the line could hear him, he said, âThen, may I know who the legal representative is?â
The person replied, âItâs Ms. Lacey Hinton, Sir.â
A murmur ran through the people gathered in the room.
The Third Military Factory was under the ownership of Lacey Hinton!
Without a doubt, it was Zeke who had transferred the ownership over to her.
Thus, he had indeed gotten his hands on the Third Military Factory!
How had he managed to cop the ownership documents from the King Class warrior?
Was he perhaps the King Class Warrior himself?
Realizing this, everyone felt petrified.
The Williamses and the Hintons let out a sigh of relief and collapsed into their chairs, wiping away the sweat on their brows.
They didnât care if Zeke was the King Class warrior or not. At least his hands had been saved.
Zeke turned to look tauntingly at Clyde. âClyde, itâs time for you to uphold your end of the bet.â
Clyde finally snapped out of his terrified daze. Looking at Zeke in disbelief, he blubbered, âHowâhowâs that possible?â
âConnor handed over the ownership documents to the King Class warrior in front of everyone. How did you get your hands on it?â
Zeke laughed. âThatâs none of your business. Right now, itâs time for you to make good on your promise.â
âKneel down now and apologize to me. After today, I hope to never see you in Atheville again.â
His face red with humiliation, Clyde tried to argue. âWhat right do you have to throw me out of Atheville?â
âOur agreement was that I would keep my distance from you for the rest of my life!â
Getting thrown out of Atheville was synonymous with him getting thrown out of the Thisleton family.
That meant he was going to be homeless, and possibly die of exposure and starvation on the streets.
Zeke replied, âI live in Atheville. If you really want to keep your distance from me, youâll have to leave Atheville forever.â
Zeke gritted his teeth. âDamn it!â
âThis is nothing but a clever play on words. Youâve tricked me!â
Zeke replied coldly, âBe quiet. Either you make good on your promise to me today, or Iâll kill you!â
Clyde Thisleton refused to leave. He had no skills to speak of. Without the backing of his powerful family and Atheville, he would die of starvation on the streets.
The matter reached a stalemate, with neither side willing to give way.
At that moment, the housekeeper received a phone call.
After listening intently for a while, he hung up and turned to the others.
Sighing deeply, he revealed the contents of the conversation to everyone. âThat phone call,â he said, âwas from Archduke Ares.â
âHe asked if the new head of the Thisleton clan has been elected during the recent family celebrations.â
âIf a decision hasnât been made, he wants Lacey Hinton to head the Thisleton clan.â
âHe believes that under her leadership, the clan will soar to greater heights.â
In agony, Clyde cried, âI get it now!â
âMy father has favored Lacey Hinton as the new head of the clan since the beginning. Thatâs why he transferred the ownership of the Third Military Factory over to her!â
Comprehension dawned on everyone. Clydeâs logic was unassailable.
They had nearly mistaken Zeke for the King Class warrior.
How preposterous! How could a cripple like him be the King Class warrior?
