Chapter 1124
Lord Protector Novel
Solf Wolf chuckled as he stepped forward and knocked on the door. âLacey, please open the door.
Zeke is here to marry you!â
Both Nancy and Dawn pushed their bodies against the door so the men wouldnât be able to enter.
âCongratulations! But you have to show some courtesy. Where are our gifts?â
Besides pressing themselves against the door, they were also consoling Lacey.
âLacey, stop crying. Theyâll be here soon.â
Alas, Lacey couldnât hold back her tears and started wailing even louder upon hearing their words.
She had been brought from hell to heaven in just seconds, so her tears were actually tears of happiness.
Sole Wolf scratched his head. âI didnât bring any gifts for you. Ms. Hinton, Dawnie, are you interested to be the general of the female soldiers? Is that enough for you to open the door?â
Nancy and Dawnâs hearts skipped a beat.
That was such a tempting offer!
However, no matter how tempting it was, they still insisted on getting gifts before letting the men in.
In the end, Lone Wolf shoved some cash in through the gap under the door before they were allowed to go in.
âLacey, letâs go.â With a charming smile, Zeke handed Lacey the bouquet he had been holding all the time.
Lacey ignored Zeke angrily and averted her gaze.
Zeke was in quite a dilemma, but he was utterly touched by her actions.
Her fury was a proof that she cared too much about him.
âKneel and propose to her,â Nancy reminded. âDo you need me to teach you how to go about this?â
His groomsmen cheered him up, too.
At once, Zeke got down on one knee and said, âLacey, please come with me.â
Lacey turned back to look at him with her distressingly red and swollen eyes.
âWill you lie to me again?â Lacey choked out.
Zeke answered, âDonât worry. You are my everything. I will only love you. Why would I deceive you though?â
âGood, at least you know what to do.â Lacey finally took the bouquet from him.
Sole Wolf burst out laughing. âTime to send you to the bridal chamber. Come, letâs haze the newlyweds now!â
Wolfâs Greed smacked him on the head. âNonsense! They havenât even exchanged vows yet.â
Sole Wolf replied, âSorry, I am too eager to do that.â
âPiss off. Why are you so eager? This isnât even your wedding,â Lone Wolf grunted.
âLacey, we should head to the wedding venue now,â Sole Wolf urged.
Lacey nodded, her cheeks already blushed.
Dawn declared, âZeke, hurry. Bring her to your car!â
âOkay!â
Zeke carried Lacey in his arms and headed to the wedding car.
When they were finally in the car, Lacey buried herself into Zekeâs embrace and lamented, âHow nice.
This feels like a dream.â
Zeke chuckled in amusement. âFrom now on, youâll live the life you dream of.â
Lacey reminded him. âCan you tell me who you are now? If Iâm not mistaken, you must be one of the Great Marshalâs disciples!â
Zeke shook his head. âNo. Actually, I amââ
Youâre still lying to me?
Laceyâs expression turned furious as she cut him off. âYou went back on your words. Didnât you just say you wonât lie to me anymore?â
Zeke felt helpless. I am the Great Marshal, not the Great Marshalâs disciple.
Nevertheless, Zeke didnât bother arguing with her. He nodded profusely. âFine. I am the Great Marshalâs disciple.â
Lacey was curious. âZeke, tell me. Youâre a powerful man, but why did you fall in love with an ordinary woman like me?â
Zeke mulled over it and replied, âLacey, if youâre a socialite instead of an ordinary woman, how will you react?â
Lacey responded at once. âIâll beat you up badly for lying to me.â
Zeke was speechless.
Oh, she mustâve thought I was kidding.
Meanwhile, at Williams Manor in Atheville.
Diego and Faith were preparing to receive the bride.
Their gazes were downcast as their faces shrouded in worry because they didnât know whether Zeke was alive or dead.
When they imagined how Lacey would read the vows and sign the wedding certificate alone, their hearts ached in pain.
Lacey and Zeke were such a perfect couple, but they were now separated eternally.
That was the most unfortunate event ever.
