Rey's POV

"Welcome back Mrs. Moreno, the board has decided that we will be making you a partner and following through with the hotel. It is going to be a pleasure doing business with you"

I walked to her seat as she stood up and shook her hand.

Once the meeting was over I had refreshments brought in by the assistants and Ky further got to know the partners as I introduced her to many of them.

I noticed Leno sitting in the corner of the table with her focus elsewhere.

I couldn't help but feel that Ky and Leno knew each other already.

It is a shame because I very much am attracted to Ky. She is a business woman and her lifestyle matters to her, I need someone like that in my life.

I thought about the proposal I made to her earlier that if we were to do business we would not mix pleasure into it but it was a lie. I was so attracted to her I wanted her now even.

But I need to remain focused on the goal.

If and when this hotel succeeds, the casino will supply the perfect money flow that I need to wash all of the money we make. Millions and millions of dollars will be cleaned. This business partnership will be one for the books indeed. Not really tho haha.

"Hey boss this is the person we were discussing the other day correct? This will be the business helping us wash the you know" Leno pulled me off to the side.

I rolled my eyes at the stupid question.

"Of course it is we just closed the deal Leno. Get your head right" I said irritated.

"My bad boss it's just that-" she continued.

"Leno I no longer want to discuss business details, now is a time to celebrate" I said popping a bottle of champagne.

She nodded once and walked out of my office.

"And Leno one more thing, I need you to keep an eye on mrs. Moreno here. Nothing should happen to her under our association and I expect her to not have a finger layed on her during our arrangement. Clear?" I said.

"I'm already on it boss" she said back.

I nodded and walked back to the partners.

"Champagne anyone?" I smiled as they raised their glasses.

Leno's POV

I watched as King walked back to the table pouring champagne into her glass. Sometimes I wish I could bash her head against that wooden table.

I had no idea Ky was going to be the one partnering with us. I bet she has no idea about us washing money knowing my boss. She seems to leave out the dirty parts of many of her businesses.

I felt contradicted within myself. If Ky found out, would she be angry? Would she tell?

If my boss found out she knew what would she do to her.

Many things were on my mind and I was mainly concerned for Kys safety. I made it my duty to protect her and make sure nothing will happen to her. I know she can handle that on her own but this isn't her territory. She doesn't know LA like I do.

I watched her and my boss toast and noticed the way King was looking at her. Like she wanted to eat her or something. I never felt fumes fill my body so fast. I looked down and my fists were balled. I looked away but I couldn't help my gaze at Ky.

She was smiling. Her smile was one of my favorite features. I just wish she was facing me instead.

After a while the celebration finally died down.

I was on my way out of the office and Ky left around the same time as I did. We didn't speak at all except for the small hellos we exchanged.

I saw her coming towards the elevator so I held it open for her.

"Hi Leno" she gave a warm smile.

"Thanks" she said.

"No problem" I half smiled cause of my mood.

"I didn't know you worked for Reyes" she sparked up a conversation.

"Technically I work for her father, I knew the family most of my life but I don't talk about my work" I said.

"Do you like it here?" she asked.

"I like the money I make" I replied.

"Shit don't we all" she said.

"How'd you hear about us?" I asked curiously.

"A business partner informed me of it actually" she replied.

Who?

I wonder if she knew the kind of people she was doing business with but then again I felt there was something Ky was hiding about herself.

I nodded and reply as we waited for the elevator to travel down in silence.

Her expression was so calm. Her lips rested perfectly on her face.

I felt that we were in the middle of no where and no one else was near us. It felt like she was the only person there.

Her eyes met mine and her pink lips curved into a closed smile.

*ding*

The elevator door opened and her head turned towards the opening doors.

My soul followed her out as my body trailed behind. Her scent of coconut and vanilla attacked me like a swarm of bees.

"Yo Leno can I holla at you." one of my runners asked.

My eyes kept on her until she walked out the door.

"Uh yee wassup" I turned my head towards him.

"So boss needs you to tapn with.."

The conversation went on but all I could think about was Ky and protecting her. I didn't want her involved here but it was already too late. She's in this now.
