A Year with Mr. Arrogant 7
A Year With Mr. Arrogant (2011)
Abrielle
I could hear the sharp chirps of the birds outside, as I lay half a sleep. I could feel the warmth of someones body against mine. I opened my eyes quickly and saw that I had my head rested just under Ace's chin. When did he come back?
I remember last night he hadn't come back home since the morning. I slowly supported myself up with my hand and watched his sleeping face. He was probably out screwing a slut, because I could clearly see pink lipstick on his cheek.
I shuddered just thinking about it, and quietly headed towards the bathroom. Once I took a look in the mirror, I noticed I was wearing only a tank top and my panties. Damn, I'm so careless, I fell asleep without putting on my pajama bottoms. Oh well, I slept like this at home.
I stripped from my clothes and hopped into the warm shower. Hopefully, Ace doesn't wake up and barge into the bathroom. I hated the fact that there was no lock. This is why I'll have to go out and buy a new knob with a lock.
Just when I got out of the shower and wrapped myself in a towel, Ace came in groggily walking in only in his boxers. I wanted to throw something at him for coming in. I smirked at the thought, which caught his attention.
"Whats with the smile?" He frowned.
"Nothing," I replied, securing my towel around me so it wouldn't fall.
"I liked your panties," He grinned, looking at the the ground where my underwear lay.
"Whatever and where were you last night?" I asked, walking over to the sink where he was.
He lathered some toothpaste onto his toothbrush and started brushing.
"Why?" He mumbled out, his mouth full of toothpaste.
"Just wanted to know," I shrugged uncaringly, "Maybe you were messing around with another girl?"
"Are you jealous?" He asked, after spitting and rinsing.
"W-what? no, that's the last thing I would be feeling," I rolled my eyes at him, giving him proof.
"Are you sure, darling?" He grinned, wrapping an arm around my waist, pulling me against his body.
"Y-yeah," I answered, gripping my towel. He looked down to see that I held onto my towel and smirked.
"Are you going to stay in here or would you like to join me for another shower?" He whispered into my ear and released me.
"In your dreams," I scoffed and scurried out of the bathroom.
I made my way into the closet and locked the door. At least this room had a lock. Crap! I forgot my underwear! I rushed back into the bathroom, quietly, trying not to make a sound.
"Did you change your mind?" I heard Ace sputter out water, but I didn't look up.
"As if!" I shouted and grabbed my stuff and rushed out again into the closet.
The nerve he has to ask me that, when he clearly went and screwed with another girl. It's not like I want him to only see me. It's just that I made a promise to his parents I would try to tame him from his actions. Â Now I realize that its going to be difficult.
One side was full of Ace's stuff and the other was equipped with mine.
"Hmmm, new style," I thought, running my fingers through the different fabrics of my tops. Half of which Ace ordered in for me. I gotta say the stuff he bought was cute but were revealing. My eyes caught on a cute navy blue tank top, dark indigo skinny jeans and matching peep toe navy blue 4" heels. I nod to myself and started by putting on a set of black lacy bra and panties, then my outfit.
The door knob to the closet twists a couple times and I opened it. Revealing a half naked Ace. A towel hung low on his waist and his abs showed perfectly. The way the water dripped from his body and hair made him even more sexy. Yes, I said sexy. I have to admit sometime that he's good looking.
"How long are you going to keep your mouth open like that?" He smirked, brushing past me.
"I wasn't," I mumbled and headed over to my make up desk that Ace set up for me. Wow, I realize that he's given me a lot since I've moved here. First thing; I blow dried my dark brown hair, brushed after, and put on natural looking make up that Jade taught me.
"Aren't you beautiful as ever?" Ace leaned down from behind, his lips just inches away from my neck. I shivered from his breathe against my bare neck, but he just chuckled.
"Whatever," I rolled my eyes.
"I'm serious. Honestly, I never realized your true beauty until I saw you at the party I announced our engagement," He looked at my mirror reflection, burrowing his beautiful blue eyes into mine.
Lies.
I got up and glanced at him quickly; he wore a white t-shirt, dark jeans, and Nike black high tops.
As I left the bedroom I couldn't help but think; Why do I have the feeling he was telling the truth?
~
I was now sitting in the passenger seat of Ace's Mercedes-Benz. I couldn't help but gawk at the car, because of how amazing it was. The shininess, and the design all made me fall in love with it instantly.
"You seem to like the car more than your fiancee?" Ace frowned.
"Oh you're right, why? Are you jealous?" I fluttered my eyelashes.
He scoffed and laughed, mumbling something I couldn't make out.
We got to school in thirty minutes and he parked in his usual "VIP" spot. Who the hell has a VIP spot? Oh right, this arrogant guy. Before I could get out of the car, Ace had already showed up on my side and held the door open for me to get out.
"Awe, aren't you a gentlemen?" I acted with awe, but really it annoyed me.
We were suppose to act all lovey dovey and truthfully I didn't like it one bit. I got out and Ace laced his hands with mine, closing the car door.
Ugh, another week of school, why can't someone shoot me already?
We made our way into the building, everyone stared at us as if they were still not use to the fact that we were engaged. Then I became aware that I held onto Ace's hand when he cleared his throat.
"Sorry," I looked up at him, and I could tell he noticed the worry in my eyes.
Damn, I wasn't suppose to show him the way I feel scared in school.
I felt insecure, as if someone would jump me any second like Cassidy.
"I told you girls would be jealous," He whispered in my ear.
"I can handle that on my own," I lied.
As we walked we past a light brown haired, hazel eyed girl who smiled at Ace, who winked at her.
"And how was she in bed?" I questioned, making him cough on air.
"What? What are you talking about?" He nervously spoke.
"Cut the crap, I know you came back home late at night because you were messing with some other chick," I rolled my eyes, pulling my hand out of his.
We got to my locker and opened it.
"Awe, is my little Elle jealous? Last time I checked you don't like me?" He raised an eyebrow, leaning against the locker.
I rose an eyebrow when he said 'My little Elle' but brushed it off since he was just messing with me.
I sighed and answered, "True."
"Then you don't care right?" He asked.
"No," I answered and gathered my books, leaving him by my locker after closing it.
Suddenly without looking up, I bumped into someone, almost falling over but the person grasped my arm. I look up to see that it was Ace's best friend, Justin.
"Whoa there, whats on your mind?" He gave me a toothy grin.
"Nothing," I answered, trying to get past him, but he blocked me.
"Hey, I want to talk to you, think you could spare some time?" Justin asked, showing a different smile then Ace's, more genuine.
I look behind me and see that Ace was coming close, and I quickly grab Justin's hand and led him over to some lockers. I hope that'll make him jealous. Wow, me trying to make someone jealous especially Ace?
I smiled at Justin, flirtatiously putting a strand of hair behind my ears and smiling, knowing that Ace was now watching.
"What did you want to talk about?" I asked as we both leaned against the lockers looking at each other.
"W-well, first of all, wow, you look amazing," He gave me a once over, and looked back up to my eyes.
"Thanks," I giggled and I never giggle.
"Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to, um, you know, go on a date with me?" He looked at me with hope filled eyes that I'd say yes, "I know that you don't really like Ace."
"Um yeah, you're right. So yeah, I will," I said, glancing at Ace's annoyed face a couple times.
"Great, give me your number so I can text you the details," He smiled, bringing out his cell phone.
We both exchanged numbers and I surprised him with a hug. Huh, I never thought a popular, good looking guy like Justin would ask me out. I look over at Ace, as Justin left and gave him a huge smile. That'll teach you.
I got into first hour, and Jade instantly fumbled me over with a huge hug.
"I missed you! My brother didn't do anything did he?" Jade searched for injuries on me.
"No why?" I frowned, taking my seat, in front of Nick, who stared at me with mouth wide open. Yup, same guy that called me a teachers pet.
" I don't know, never mind, he's not abusive, but he can get really mad you know," Jade said.
"Right, its not like we're going to....you know," I chuckled.
"Eww don't even say that word," Jade chuckled and Mrs. Florence came in to start class.
"Miss Caldwell, or should I say Mrs. soon-to-be-Daniels?" Mrs. Florence teased.
Why does this lady always put me on the spot light? I was surprised, however, to see the class laughing in a non-hurtful manner.
~
Class ended quickly and guess who waited for me outside of class? Mr. Ace Daniels.
"Hey babe," He emphasized "babe", and put his arm over my shoulders.
"What do you want?" I asked, trying to shrug his arm off.
"What were you and Justin talking about?" He asked, trying to act as if he didn't care.
"Why?" I mocked him, just like he asked this morning.
"I just wanted to know," He repeated my words.
"Are...you jealous?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Maybe," He answered, which shocked me.
Ace being jealous? But he has a bunch of girls who wanted him, why would he be jealous of me with a guy?
~
The rest of the day went by quick and it was now after school. I had to wait for Ace to finish with soccer practice, and I dragged Jade along with me.
I couldn't stop thinking about what he had answered when I asked if he was jealous. I had a feeling that, maybe it was a yes, because if he wasn't jealous he would've just said no, right? Isn't this what I wanted? God, I was starting to get a headache because of him.
"Whats wrong?" Jade asked with a frown upon her face.
"Nothing, I'm just bored out of my mind," I gave her a reassuring smile, so she wouldn't ask again.
"Oh so, do you like my brother?" Jade suddenly questioned, her eyes looking down at the ground now.
"What?" I exclaimed, making Cassidy and her posse look over, "Why do you ask?"
"Oh, cause you seem like you do?" Jade rhetorically responded, playing with her charm bracelet.
A gust of wind passed, making my hair go over my face, and I thought; does it really seem like I do?
I look down at Ace and he was yelling at his team mates like they were dogs.
" Ha! As if, I mean look at him...he's soo, arrogant, he thinks he's the best," I scoffed, looking away, shaking me head.
" Oh, I see," Jade, smiled weakly.
Weird.
A few silent minutes passed and I saw Cassidy make her way up with her army. No reason to run away like last time.
"So, you and Ace?" Cassidy laughed in a high pitched tone. That was so damn annoying.
"Yeah, what about him and me?" I questioned back.
"Oh sweetie, just to let you know. Ace would never like a girl like you, he even told me. So, why don't you just quit day dreaming and leave him to a true woman he really loves?" Cassidy cackled like a witch.
"You really have the nerve, don't you?" I gave her an evil look, and the soccer team was already looking over.
"And you do?" she hissed, as the both of us stood our ground, standing the same height as each other.
"Bitch," I made it clear for only her to hear, but I flinched a bit when Cassidy raised her hand at me.
"Stop!" I heard Ace's voice echo across the field.
We all look over and see Ace making his way up the bleachers.
"Acey!" Cassidy beamed and skipped towards him, but he dodged and made his way up to me.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Nothing I can't handle," I chuckled nervously.
Ace looked over at Cassidy, "If you ever hurt her, I'll make sure you regret it."
That totally shocked everyone with a gasp.
Especially me.
