A Year with Mr. Arrogant 4
A Year With Mr. Arrogant (2011)
Abrielle
I was still shocked at what Ace had said. What did he mean he'll give me a husband? He's not going to play along is he? I mean all I want to do is play with him a little, make him miserable for the way he rudely treated me. What kind of guy straight out tells a girl they wouldn't want to be seen with them? Obviously Ace.
Hopefully he's not there tomorrow when I go over to his house.
~
Jade, my nick name for Jadine, looked at me as if she was ready to eat me alive. With one hand she held a cordless pink curling iron and a facial mask pack on the other.
"What are you doing with those?" I questioned, trying to lean further back into the couch as she inched nearer me.
"Were going to have a little make over," she smiled wickedly.
"Noooo!!!" I screamed.
"Stop struggling or I'll burn you to death!" She managed to change personalities. That was one thing that was scary about her. She had an evil attitude underneath all that sweetness.
I stayed put knowing I couldn't win, but a little make over wouldn't hurt. I use to do these with my old friends all the time when we had sleepovers. While Jade did my hair, I kept the mask on my face, at least this was relaxing, it felt like an actual salon.
~
"Finished!" Jade squealed, excited at the fact she spent three hours working on me. Sheesh, a little make over? More like complete make over hell.
She did my hair, my make up, even redid my eyebrows, and dressed me up completely like a doll. Did I mention she made me try on so many dresses? If she took this much time, I better look like a Goddess. She placed her hands over my eyes and probably led me towards her mirror covered closet doors.
"Ready, one, two, three!" Jade squealed once again.
"Jeez will you st--," I stopped right at that, and stared at the girl looking back at me, with mouth wide open.
"See, you look like a goddess," Jade giggled.
My dark brown hair were in loose curls, it looked as if I wasn't wearing any make up other than cherry pink lipstick but I knew she did put some on. My skin was radiating out a natural glow. I wore a fitted black satin mini dress, that really made my legs stand out; it had a sweetheart neckline and a moderate back that fell just below the shoulder blades, the top was styled to resemble a bandeau top, it fit snugly. The heels were amazingly cute; black glitter four inch pumps that gave the outfit more edge.
"You're one hell of a makeover artist," I tried holding the tears back.
"Don't get too emotional, you'll ruin your make up," She smiled, holding her arms out for me to hug her.
I had to bend down a bit since I was four inches taller.
"Now lets head down stairs, my mom wants to see how you look," she smiled, grabbing my hand, pulling me out her room door.
"Wait, Ace isn't here is he?" I asked, refraining from going further.
"No, I told you he's at soccer practice," She forcefully pulled me forward almost making me trip.
I followed her all the way down and suddenly heard commotion as she led me towards the back court yard.
Whats going on?
Once I stepped out on to the large patio platform familiar eyes laid upon me. I froze where I now stood, looking back at the hundreds of people that have made fun of me since day one at Harlock Academy. Even Cassidy was here, arms wrapped around Ace's arm. He gave me a mischievous grin.
Wait Ace? I thought he was at soccer practice? But looking around, even his team was here, wide eyed as they kept their stares on me. Ace pushes off Cassidy's arms, and walks over to me. The thing that surprised me and Cassidy most was how he gently placed an arm around me, and looked down at me with a lovesick expression, which I could tell was fake.
"Who's the hottie?" a guy whistled out.
Hottie? Couldn't they recognize me? Hello, its Abrielle Caldwell, the girl that you all been messing with? I mentally waved my hands at them.
"She's beautiful, please don't call her hot," He responds, rubbing his hand on my arm which I wanted to rip off.
Liar
Another guy whistles, "Nice legs."
I wanted to move, I really did, but I was like a deer stuck in headlights.
"Everyone, this is Abrielle Caldwin, don't you know her from school?" Ace acted confused.
Some gasped, and some started laughing, was he trying to humiliate me?!
"Did you get surgery or something, maybe even botox?" Cassidy laughed with others, and that's when my blood boiled.
"The only girl in this room who'd get botox is you!" I protested, which made some people oooh, and I heard Ace even give out a low chuckle.
"You bitch! Why the hell do you have your arms around that tramp?!" Cassidy shouted.
"Calm down," Ace sounded annoyed, "I brought you all here to tell you that, Elle and I are engaged."
Everyone gasped again but started to laugh once more, but what I gasped at was how he used my nickname.
"You're kidding me, right, bud? I mean, you're the King of womanizing," a blond guy cried out. I believe his name was Justin.
"And picking Abrielle, to be your wife... this is a joke, right?" A popular girl laughed, holding her stomach.
I wasn't strong enough, because if I was, my tears wouldn't have fallen. Angrily, I pushed Ace away from me and ran as fast as I could in my heels. My name was being called by Jade, but I was mad at her for bringing me out there and lying. I tripped suddenly, but stayed sitting on the cold floor, crying.
"Abrielle, I'm so sorry, I didn't know it'd turn out like that," Jade caught up to me, kneeling in front of me.
"Why would you bring me out there? You know they don't like me," I shouted.
"I just wanted everyone to know that your my sister-in-law," she said, with regretful eyes. "And anyway, it was Ace who planned the party."
Ace, of course, it made sense. He only wanted to humiliate me; that way, I'd change my mind. But the more he tried, the more I wanted to plan my move.
Let the games begin, asshole.

"Dress me up so beautiful that I could be mistaken for a dream," I told Jade, who gave a nod, wondering why I was requesting this.
After the mishap, I told Mr. and Mrs. Daniels that I wanted to announce our marriage on live TV. They were surprised at first but thought I was in love with Ace already, Ha! Yeah right . They agreed to make it today, Sunday, at noon exactly. If he was going to give me a good "husband" then I'll give him an even better wife. I chuckled at the thought of how I'm going to humiliate him.
"You look scary," Jade frowned, while fixing my makeup.
"Well, no more misses nice girl," I smiled, which made Jade jump a little.
After an hour, Jade finished up with a winning smile. I turned to look in the mirror, and my look was done as if an angel did it.
"You have the hands of an angel," I turned to Jade and hugged her.
"Thanks, now are you going to tell me what your little head is scheming?" she questioned, as I let go.
"No, you'll just have to turn on the tv, and watch it live," I smirked, turning to look myself in the mirror again.
I wore a flirty cocktail-length white dress with a lacy bodice, matching bow front peep toe heels. She styled my hair to perfection with romantic curls. My make up with simple and natural, with cherry blossom colored lipstick.

Ace
I paced back and forth, thinking, What the hell is Abrielle planning? I mean, I thought I told my dad we'd tell the world in a few weeks, but now he tells me Abrielle wanted to tell the press today.
"Son, keep still," my mother said as we sat in a room behind the conference room.
I didn't listen but kept pacing. Keep calm, Ace, you can handle anything better than anyone. Whatever Abrielle does or says, you can handle it. From the corner of my eye, I see someone walk into the room.
"Abrielle yo-," my mouth hung open at who I was looking at.
She was absolutely a goddess. Well, yesterday she was as beautiful, but there was something about her today that took my breath away.
"Son, it's not polite to stare like that, if you want to say how beautiful she is then just tell her," Father chuckled, and my parents headed over to her. She gave a smug smile at me and winked.
What the hell was that? What happened to the girl that everyone picked on? Her personality changed drastically.
Ace, keep your ground, don't let her overpower you.
I gave her a warm smile and walked over to her, this time she had a surprised reaction. Good, just what I needed.
"May I speak to my fiancee alone, Mother, Father?" I questioned, still keeping my smile.
"Of course, and both of you, good luck," Mother squealed like an annoying fan girl.
They left the room, and I instantly trapped Abrielle between me and the wall. She gasped, not expecting me to do that.
"You better not do or say anything out of the ordinary, just keep your mouth shut and let me speak," I growled, staring into her crystal blue eyes.
"Of course, dear," She smiled, tapping me against my cheek, making me scowl, but I knew she was lying.
~
We walked out onto the small stage, and sat down at the table facing the already questioning reporters.
"Good afternoon. Now before we start the questioning, I will tell you that we will be taking only a few questions," I spoke into the mic, holding Abrielle's small and soft hands, but this was only for show.
"Mr. Daniels, where did you meet, Miss Caldwin," a short, stubby man asked.
"Well....when I first saw how gorgeous Elle was at a restaurant, her eyes met mine, and I realized she's been staring at me for a while. That's when I went over to her, and the rest was history," I acted truthfully with my words, and felt Abrielle squeeze my hand.
"Abrielle...which is your name, tell us what you thought about Mr. Daniels when you first met him," a woman with bright red lipstick asked.
"When I first saw Ace, I kinda fell in love, normally I don't believe in love at first sight, but he just took my breath away," Elle calmly answered, which satisfied the reporters.
As much as I hated saying it, it was still a lie. I don't like Abrielle at all.
"This one question is directed to both of you. How much do you know about each other?" A man shouted out.
I suddenly froze and could see the smile on Abrielle's face, ha! It's not like she knows anything about me.
"He's told me a lot about him actually, his favorite color is blue....and this is the funniest part, he used to put on girls clothes when he was three and put on little runway shows," She laughed as the women in the room awed, while others quickly jotted down what Abrielle had just said.
This time I squeezed her hand hard, but kept a smile.
"How much do you know, Abrielle?" The same guy asked.
Great. I don't know shit about her. I stuttered trying to come up with something, which put questioning faces. I couldn't lie, considering what she said was true, even though I don't want to admit it.
"Oops, I am so sorry!" Abrielle cried out, and I felt something wet on my pants.
I look down to see she had "accidentally' spilled water on me.
"No more questions, thank you," I angrily said, and pushed Abrielle out of the room.
She started to laugh as we entered the back room, but I was furious.
"What the hell was that?!" I shouted, inching towards her.
She stopped laughing and stepped backwards with a regretful look plastered on her pretty little face.
"W-what? That was an accident," she stuttered, hitting the wall.
I punched the spot next to her head, and glared at her as she flinched.
"You've messed with the wrong person!" I growled.
"But you did the same thi---," I cut her off with something that surprised the both of us.
I've seen it in many movies and thought I should try it since it did shut her up.
I had kissed her.
Why did I do it? It's simple, the more she falls for me, I know she'll stop her little game. Like I said, I'll give her a husband, it's not like I'll end up falling for her.
