CHAPTER 44

CHAPTER 44: Is it really a goodbye ?

"So is it truly the last day of vacation?" Safia asked Fawad with a deep sigh . One week passed so quickly before her eyes that she couldn't understand. She was holding the cage with the two rabbits as they walked towards the mansion's upper room .

Fawad opened the door , and Safia bowed down , opening the cage of the room , letting the rabbits play and enjoying themselves. She sat beside Fawad after closing the room staring in awe at the glass roof of the house .

"It's just so beautiful and magnificent" she stared at the sparkling stars and the moon .

"It will be even more beautiful" Fawad's smile made her relax and remember the main reason they were here . Today was the day the comet would be seen , and after seeing the comet they would go to their homes .

There was a scent of old maps and books surrounding the room as it was Fawad's personal area where he did research on the galaxy and its stars. On the floor where was a spread up map in brownish colour where few stars were drawn and marked.

"Excuse that , I was working on it last night" his words made her look towards him , "I would love to look deeper into this" she traced her hands on the map seeing some animal shapes made by connecting the stars .

"I will sho-" before Fawad could complete, he quickly held Safia's hand and made her look up . A comet passed with speed , covered in a blush and greenish hue . Both of them stared at it in awe , Safia couldn't take her eyes off it , and Fawad stared at her eyes which were shining with happiness . He smiled slightly .

"It's so pretty" Safia whispered in awe and Fawad just mumbled "I know , the prettiest" staring at his wife.

"I am so glad we got a chance to witness this Mr Siddiqui" she looked at him , feeling thankful and held his hands in her own one's .

They both stared at each other with smiles painted across lips and then just sat in silence , while taking bites of the food in front of them remembering the sweet memories they made all along . But somehow to Safia it was feeling like a goodbye .

"It is not a goodbye right?" She asked Fawad and he stared at her , "What made you think so?"

"I don't know , nothing has been this perfect in my life , like these months of marriage have been . But-Its a contract marriage afterall " Safia said and Fawad just held his phone tightly in his hands , as he have texted his secretary to work on terminating the contract.

He just wanted to leave Safia, so that she and Seth can form a bonding and ultimately she don't get hurt after he dies.

"You, You don't like it to end?" He asked and she smiled and looked at him, "No , I want this night to be forever, don't you?" She asked him back.

"I do," Fawad tried to tell her about termination tonight, but he couldn't , especially not after seeing how happy and peaceful she looked . He didn't wanted to worry her . Atleast not tonight .

The next day arrived and the couple had finally entered Delhi . Fawad was still wearing the couple's t-shirt which he earlier thought was cringe . He was holding their two bags in each of his hand and Safia's big school bag , which she had used to put all the materials she shopped on their vacation, on his shoulder. Safia on the other hand was holding the cage of the two bunnies .

On the station itself, she was surprised to find Kashaf all dressed in a green suit , with Abhishek and Ismail , who were waving at her with huge smiles . Although Ismail's smile seemed fake concealing his worries.

"What are they doing here?!!" She asked in surprise almost jumping in her place .

"They came to meet you , and now for another week , you will spend time with them . I booked a hotel for y'all" Fawad informed and her eyes went round , "No you didn't" she gasped in disbelief.

"Yes , I did . Now it's better if you go to them and enjoy" Fawad's words then stricken her.

"You won't be joining us?" She asked with disappointment.

"No, it's about time we both return to our worlds " His words made her frown , "our worlds? What does it mean?" She asked with confusion.

"Nothing . Just go and enjoy . We will talk with each other next week" Fawad waved at her stepping a few steps backwards .

"Mr Siddiqui.." She whispered to call him , but instead her friends gathered her asking many questions about her vacation. Abhishek just kneeled down staring at the two bunnies.

"Yo ! Safia , did you had fun?" Aditi asked coming from side and Safia was surprised to see her to .

"My god , you are here too!" She smiled and hugged Aditi .

"Yup,  and your parents are outside to , sitting in the car" hearing this Safia quickly ran outside giving the cage in Abhishek's hands , to meet her parents . She had missed them too .

Kashaf , Abhishek and Aditi followed with a smile , but Ismail halted and stared at Fawad , who was looking at this from a distance with a light smile .

Fawad stared at Safia till she disappeared out of his vision and then he turned around and walked outside from the other gate . It was easy for him to do so without coming in eyes of press , because of his mask and black glasses .

The morning had brought many new things for everyone. Especially Rudhra , he had woken up to find Adhirkirt on his side worried.

"You are awake papa" Rudhra was stunned to hear his son's words and quickly got up from the bed and hugged his son firmly .

"Yes , how did you came here?" Rudhra asked while pecking the temple of his son's face .

"Ma brought me here, but she left . She said she will come to pick me up in an hour" Rudhra gave a slight nod hearing it , and hugged back his son . For the first ever time he was about to respect someone's words , which was of Kalyani, to stay away from their son, but she herself dropped him here.

Now he didn't knew what to feel . Did she still had feelings or was it a simple act of mercy .

"How is your ma?" Rudhra asked Adhikrit whose eyes were fixed on his wounds , "She was sad , she was crying when she saw your wounds" Adhikrit sadly said.

"But some call came , and she had to go" The young boy added and unknowingly , the boy gave the answer to his father's question.

The door creaked open , and Kalyani entered the room , looking gorgeous in a black saree with white borders .

"Let's go Adi" She asked not even sparing a glance at Rudhra , but only she knew how difficult it was for her to do so .

"Can we stay longer?" Adhikrit asked ,"Papa have just woken up . He will be alone again"

"Adi,  you have homework to do too," Kalyani didn't wanted to forcefully take him out of the room, yet she was torn between her feelings and her friendship. How could she just let Rudhra easily go after what he had done with her friend ? He was a criminal and she couldn't let her son be with such a man for a long time.

"But ma!" Adhikrit whined , but Rudhra hugged him from behind .

"Just go Adi ,we will meet again soon champ" he ruffled the hairs of his son.

"Promise ?" Adhikrit stretched his finger to make a promise and with half heart Rudhra did it . He didn't knew when Kalyani will again let him meet his son , so it all actually depended on the mother .

"Yayy, you made a promise !! I will meet you soon papa" Adhikrit jumped and walked towards his mother who held his hand and walked outside silently , staring at his son with tears whelming up in her own eyes .

If it was just about her future she wouldn't have wasted time and went to Rudhra, not caring about their future , but it was about him . She had promised to protect him and at all costs .
