Chapter 96
Bride of Mr.Billion
ver.
âBella?â
I looked up and saw him clearly. After a moment of silence, I said coldly, âWhat are you doing here?â âI came specially for you. Are you working here?â Ryan looked at the building behind me. âHow did you know I was working here?â I frowned. âItâs⦠itâs your mother who told me. If you change your job, tell me.
Itâs hard to find you. My calls never got through too!â Ryan said with a smile. Hearing this, I was very angry. Didnât mom promise that she had seen Ryanâs true colors? Why did she tell Ryan where I worked?
âOf course you canât get through, because I have put you in the blacklist. I donât want to have any contact with you. Do you understand?â I said this and turned to leave.
Ryan immediately stepped forward to block my way and said ingratiatingly, âYou are always angry with Dad! After so many years, should our relationship be eased?â âMy relationship with you can never be eased, ever!â My attitude was very tough. Ryan seemed to have been irritated by me. He put away his hypocrisy and put his hand into his pocket, saying, âThe contract between Wharton Group and my insurance company has ended. Now, Herbert is not willing to renew it. Why donât you ask him to renew this contract for me?â Hearing this, I couldnât help sneering. He finally exposed his true colors.
17:02 âYour insurance company is unreliable! A terrible insurance company like you should not exist at all.
Youâd better close down early!â
My words made Ryan furious. He raised his hand and hit me in the face!
I was stunned and didnât react at all.
But the pain I imagined didnât fall on my face. A hand reached out from my back and grabbed Ryanâs arm. With a push, Ryan didnât stand steadily and almost fell to the ground.
âWho are you?â Ryan asked.
âIf you simply hit people, I can sue you!â Klein didnât show any sign of weakness.
At this moment, Klein, dressed in a white shirt, was very solemn, as though he were the embodiment of justice. He was an outstanding lawyer, and had a solemn aura. âIt has nothing to do with you that I hit my daughter!â Ryan shouted.
Hearing these words, Klein turned to look at me, his eyes filled with questions. âI have nothing to do with him!â I replied firmly. âYou donât even recognize me!â Ryan stepped forward and wanted to hit me again.
Klein stood in the middle, warning him, âIf you continue to hit people, iâll call the police.â Ryan stopped and pointed at me. âI heard that you work in a famous law firm. If you canât do what I just said, Iâll go to your company and spread all the disgusting things youâve done. Iâll make your boss fire you!â
Ryan actually threatened me! I agitatedly stepped forward to argue with him. âWhat disgusting things have I done? Tell me clearly!â
Before Ryan could speak, Klein said solemnly to Ryan, âI can tell you that I am Bellaâs boss. I approve of her very much and have always placed her in an important position. I donât think I need to say that you should know that I am a lawyer, right? I am not afraid of suing you in a slander case. This is my business card. I can tell you that if you cause trouble for my employee in the future, I can sue you at any time!â
With that, Klein stuffed his business card into Ryanâs hand, then pulled my hand and left.
âA lawyer? B*tch! Youâve hooked up with a lawyer this time. Youâre quite capable. You can hook up with a boss every time. Your biological father wants you to do something for him, but youâre not willing. Youâll go to hell sooner or laterâ¦â Hearing the unbearable curses behind me, I couldnât help but feel a lump in my throat. Klein opened the car door. This time, I didnât refuse. I sat down in the passenger seat I didnât know why I suddenly couldnât control my emotions today. All the pain I had experienced appeared in front of me again, and my tears couldnât stop flowing down. Klein handed over two pieces of tissue, quietly staring at me. I took the tissue and cried, âThank you.â After crying for a while, I calmed down a little.
After wiping my tears with a tissue, I raised my head and forced a smile. âThank you.â âYouâre welcome.
Is that person really your father?â Klein asked me. âYou can say that in terms of blood relations.â I replied.
Klein didnât continue to ask what had happened between Ryan and I. He just said, âHow can I help you?â
âYouâve already helped me. If it werenât for your help, he definitely wouldnât have left so quickly.â I looked at Klein with grateful eyes. âIf you donât mind, I can lend you my ear.â Klein looked at me sincerely.
I really needed someone to talk to. I looked at him and told him some of my experiences. âHe abandoned my mother, sister, and I 16 years ago and got married to a mistress. My mother knelt or the ground and begged himâ¦â
